WoW Forever Rogue Abilities and Spells by Level
A Rogue in WoW Forever trains 51 abilities between levels 1 and 60, and starts with Stealth and Pick Lock from level 1. Sprint and Sap come at 10, Kick at 12, poisons at 20, Vanish at 22, Kidney Shot at 30 and Blind at 34. Forever adds two trainer spells, Poised at 18 to save energy on your opener and Shank at 24, an off-hand strike that cannot miss and refunds energy, and two new talents at 40, Mutilate and Death Mark.
Set your level in the planner below: it hides what you already know and shows what you learn at that level and at the next visits. Under it, the same data is written out level by level: every new Rogue ability and every stronger rank from 1 to 60, the key abilities and when you get them, what changed against Classic, the spells that come from talents, and the full Rogue spell list for each specialization.
WoW Forever Rogue Abilities by Level
A Rogue in WoW Forever has 51 abilities with trainer ranks: 49 arrive as new spells, and 2 start with a talent point before the trainer sells the higher ranks. The trainer has something for you on 30 levels: level 1, then every even level from 4 to 60, so plan a visit every two levels. The tables below split the 1 to 60 journey into six steps; the first column is the level, the second the abilities you learn for the first time, the third the new ranks with their rank number.

What Changed for Rogue Abilities in WoW Forever
Rogue changes in Forever are mostly new tools rather than new levels. Shank gives the off-hand a strike of its own, Poised makes openers cheaper, and Mutilate and Death Mark arrive as talents. Poisons were rebalanced too: each application of Instant Poison and Deadly Poison hits for less than in Classic.
These 2 abilities moved the most: they are new in Forever, come earlier than in Classic, no longer need a talent, or have a new name.
Another 29 Rogue spells keep their level but have new numbers: damage, healing, cost, cooldown or spell power scaling. Hover a spell in the planner above to see what changed for that exact rank.
Rogue Abilities That Come From Talents
Some Rogue abilities start as a talent. You put the point into the talent tree to get the first rank, and after that the trainer sells the higher ranks like any other spell. Others stay talent-only and the trainer never teaches them. The earliest level is when you can reach that row of the tree with every point in it.
| Ability | Talent tree | Ranks from the trainer |
|---|---|---|
| Mutilate | Assassination | Rank 2 at 50, Rank 3 at 60 |
| Death Mark | Subtlety | Rank 2 at 48, Rank 3 at 56, Rank 4 at 60 |
| Riposte | Combat | Talent only, from level 20 |
| Premeditation | Subtlety | Talent only, from level 20 |
| Cold Blood | Assassination | Talent only, from level 25 |
| Ghostly Strike | Subtlety | Talent only, from level 25 |
| Venom | Assassination | Talent only, from level 30 |
| Blade Flurry | Combat | Talent only, from level 30 |
| Preparation | Subtlety | Talent only, from level 30 |
| Hemorrhage | Subtlety | Talent only, from level 30 |
| Adrenaline Rush | Combat | Talent only, from level 40 |
You can plan these points in our WoW Forever Rogue talents guide, which explains every tree and the builds for leveling, dungeons and PvP.

Rogue Trainer Tips for Leveling
Rogues buy a lot of poison ranks, so time your visits:
- Pick Lock is available from level 1 in Forever, so you can open lockboxes as soon as your skill allows.
- Level 20 is a key visit: Rupture and the poison training with Instant Poison and Crippling Poison.
- Shank at 24 is worth buying immediately if you dual wield: it never misses and gives energy back.
- Each poison rank is a separate recipe; you only need the newest rank of the poisons you actually use.
