WoW Forever PvP Gear and Honor Costs Guide

Updated 09 Oct 2026 | Author: Kir | ~6 min

WoW Forever brings back the Classic PvP vendor, but gearing up now happens in two steps. From level 55 you buy each rare (blue) armor piece with Honor and Marks of Honor from one specific battleground. Later, an Emboldened Seal unlocked between Rank 8 and Rank 13 upgrades that piece to epic, while weapons wait until Rank 14.

At September beta prices a full rare set cost about 42,500 Honor plus 105 marks. The October 1 beta build then raised most gear costs by roughly 50% and lifted the Honor cap from 15,000 to 25,000, so plan for about 64,000 Honor when the game launches on November 4. Below, you'll find costs for every armor slot, seal and Rank 14 weapon, the other vendor rewards by rank, where the vendors stand, and a week-by-week spending plan that keeps you under the cap.

How PvP Gear Works in WoW Forever

Every armor slot follows the same path from a blue vendor piece to its epic version, and your rank decides how far along that path you can go each week.

  1. Buy the rare (blue) piece. No rank needed; wearable from level 55. It costs Honor plus Marks of Honor from one specific battleground.
  2. Rank up for the seal. Each slot has an Emboldened Seal (for example, the Premier Emboldened Chest Seal) that unlocks at a set rank, from Rank 8 to Rank 13.
  3. Upgrade to epic. Buy the seal with Honor and combine it with the rare piece to get the epic (Elite) version.
  4. Weapons are separate. PvP weapons are epic only and unlock at Rank 14; there are no rare PvP weapons in current beta data.

Blizzard also filled gaps for specs that had no PvP gear in Classic. Shaman, for example, get separate healer, melee and caster sets, and, per datamined beta files, both factions get sets for Paladins and Shamans.

All prices below are beta values and may change before launch on November 4.

PvP Armor Honor and Mark Costs by Slot

Each slot needs marks from one battleground, so a full set pulls you into all four maps. The Honor prices come from datamined September beta vendor data. The October 1 beta build raised most gear and seal costs by about 50%, so the columns marked "after Oct 1" are our estimates, not confirmed prices.

Slot Marks for rare piece Rare, Honor (September beta) Rare, ≈ after Oct 1 Seal, Honor (September beta) Seal, ≈ after Oct 1 Seal unlocks at
Cloak 10 Arathi Basin 3,000 4,500 - - Rare only (Rank 3)
Wrist 10 Warsong Gulch 3,000 4,500 750 1,125 Rank 8
Belt 10 Arathi Basin 4,000 6,000 1,000 1,500 Rank 8
Boots 10 Darkspear Islands 5,000 7,500 1,000 1,500 Rank 9
Gloves 10 Warsong Gulch 5,000 7,500 1,500 2,250 Rank 10
Shoulders 10 Arathi Basin 4,250 6,375 1,500 2,250 Rank 12
Legs 15 Warsong Gulch 6,000 9,000 2,000 3,000 Rank 12
Helm 15 Alterac Valley 6,000 9,000 Not listed - Rank 13
Chest 15 Arathi Basin 6,250 9,375 1,750 2,625 Rank 13

For the full rare set you need 45 Arathi Basin Mark of Honor, 35 Warsong Gulch Mark of Honor, 15 Alterac Valley Mark of Honor and 10 Darkspear Islands Mark of Honor. Per datamined beta files, a win pays 3 marks and a loss pays 1.

If you'd rather skip the queues, our WoW Forever Marks of Honor Farm covers the marks from the battleground you pick, and the WoW Forever PvP Gear Boost covers the rare set or its seal upgrades.

Rank 14 PvP Weapon Honor Costs

Every PvP weapon unlocks at Rank 14 and is bought outright, with no rare version to upgrade. Two-handers cost Alterac Valley marks; everything else costs marks from Darkspear Islands. Names below are the Alliance versions; Horde versions cost the same.

Type Weapons Marks Honor (September beta) Honor (≈ after Oct 1)
Two-handed Premier Grand Marshal's Demolisher, Glaive, Battle Hammer, Stave, Sunderer, Claymore 20 Alterac Valley 15,000 22,500
One-handed and ranged Hand Cannon, Swiftblade, Mageblade, Handaxe, Warhammer, Longsword, Punisher, Dirk, Right and Left Hand Blades, Bullseye, Repeater 10 Darkspear Islands 8,000 12,000
Shields and off-hands Aegis, Barricade, Tome of Power, Tome of Restoration 10 Darkspear Islands 7,000 10,500

A two-hander at the estimated new price still fits under the 25,000 Honor cap, but only just: save up from week 8 or so so you can buy it the week you hit Rank 14. Dual-wielders pay twice.

Other PvP Vendor Rewards by Rank

The rest of the PvP vendor is utility and cosmetics, each unlocked by rank.

Item Rank Cost (September beta) Notes
Faction tabard 1 - Private's Tabard / Scout's Tabard
PvP insignia trinket 2 3,500 Honor; epic upgrade 2,000 Your class's PvP trinket
Premier Master Sergeant's Insignia 4 10 Darkspear Islands marks + 5,000 Honor The Rank 4 faction necklace, neck slot, same item for both factions
Combat Healing Potion and Combat Mana Potion 5 - Details not published yet
Elite tabard 6 - Knight's Colors / Stone Guard's Herald
Alliance Battle Standard / Horde Battle Standard 7 - +15% max health to nearby allies, 10 min cooldown
Black War mounts 11 - One per faction

Costs not listed aren't published yet. The cloak (Rank 3) is in the armor table above.

Where to Find the PvP and Darkspear Islands Vendors

The PvP vendors stand in the Champions' Hall in Stormwind City and the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar. Reputation vendors for the new battleground wait at the Barrens forward bases: Darkspear Raiders at Merchant Coast for the Horde and Theramore Expeditionary Force at Northwatch for the Alliance. They sell trinkets, rings, cloaks, weapons and armor as your reputation grows.

Our Darkspear Islands battleground guide covers the map itself, its marks and the reputation rewards its vendors sell.

Honor Budget for a Full PvP Set and Weapon

A full epic armor set plus a two-handed weapon comes to about 67,000 Honor at September prices - roughly 100,000 after the October 1 increase. Since you can only hold 25,000 at once, buy as you go.

Purchase Honor (September beta) Honor (≈ after Oct 1)
9 rare armor pieces 42,500 63,750
7 seals, helm seal not priced yet 9,500 14,250
Rank 14 two-handed weapon 15,000 22,500
Total 67,000 100,500

How many matches that takes isn't known yet: Blizzard hasn't published Honor per battleground. If you'd rather not grind the total yourself, see our WoW Forever Honor Points farm.

Week-by-Week PvP Gear Spending Order

Seals unlock with your rank, and rank progress is capped each week, so it pays to spend Honor in step with the climb rather than all at once.

  1. Weeks 1–4: buy rare pieces as soon as you're 55 and have the marks. Chest, legs and helm cost the most and give the most stats.
  2. Weeks 5–7: buy each seal the week its rank unlocks - wrist and belt (Rank 8), boots (9), gloves (10).
  3. Weeks 8–9: legs and shoulders seals (Rank 12), then chest and helm (Rank 13).
  4. From week 8: start holding Honor for the Rank 14 weapon so you can buy it in week 10.

If you're near 25,000, spend: Honor above the cap is lost.
