Shaper's Terrace is the last of the nine new dungeons in WoW Forever and the only one that waits until level 58. It sits on a titan facility in the northern hills of Un'Goro Crater, right above Marshal's Refuge, and it ties the zone you already quest in to the instance itself: the Power Crystals you pick up around the crater are used at consoles inside. Nobody outside Blizzard has cleared it yet. The dungeon was locked for the whole beta, so the first groups on November 4 go in blind, with only four boss names pulled from the game files. Below, we cover where the entrance is and how to reach it, how the Power Crystals fit in, what we know about the bosses and rewards, the sealed titan doors above the terrace, and how to prepare for your first run.
Shaper's Terrace is a five-player dungeon for levels 58 to 60 in the northern hills of Un'Goro Crater. It is a new area of Forever: the rim above Marshal's Refuge was empty scenery in the original game, and now a titan facility with domes, crystal caves and a great hall stands there. Before the details, here is the dungeon at a glance.
| Detail | Shaper's Terrace |
|---|---|
| Level range | 58–60 |
| Group size | 5 players |
| Zone | Un'Goro Crater, northern hills |
| Nearest flight path | Marshal's Refuge (Gryfe, both factions) |
| Attunement or key | None announced |
| Available | At launch, November 4, 2026 |
The fastest way in is the Marshal's Refuge flight path, which serves both Alliance and Horde. If you haven't discovered it yet, fly to Gadgetzan in Tanaris, follow the road west down the slope into the crater and ride north to the refuge. From Gadgetzan it is about a two-minute flight once the path is known; Horde players from Orgrimmar change at Crossroads and Freewind Post in Thousand Needles on the way.
The entrance sits on the hill directly above the refuge. In beta footage, Blizzard turned the old temple on that slope into the instance portal and dressed it with vines, roots and a half-buried titan head, with a Meeting Stone for the dungeon nearby. The portal wasn't active during the beta, so exact coordinates haven't been published yet; we'll add them on launch day.
To plan the trip across Kalimdor, our WoW Forever travel routes guide lists every boat, zeppelin and portal.
The one mechanic Blizzard has confirmed for Shaper's Terrace links the dungeon to the zone around it. In the official preview, players bring Power Crystals gathered throughout Un'Goro and use them at consoles inside the terrace. Blizzard hasn't said how many crystals you need, which colors, or whether every player has to carry their own, so treat crystals as something to stock up on before your first run.
Un'Goro has four kinds of crystals, and you loot them from crystal formations scattered across the crater floor:
Forever also adds a new Alchemy recipe, Transmute: Red Power Crystal to Blue Power Crystal. A transmute for exactly this pair suggests that blue crystals will be the scarce color, so an alchemist in the group may save everyone a farming trip. Our WoW Forever Alchemy guide covers how to level the profession to the transmutes.
The crystals already have a quest chain in the zone. It starts with J.D. Collie at Marshal's Refuge, a few steps from the dungeon entrance, and all of its quests are level 53.
| Quest | What you do | Giver |
|---|---|---|
| Crystals of Power | Collect 7 Power Crystals of each color | J.D. Collie |
| The Northern Pylon | Find the Northern Crystal Pylon | J.D. Collie |
| The Eastern Pylon | Find the Eastern Crystal Pylon | J.D. Collie |
| The Western Pylon | Find the Western Crystal Pylon | J.D. Collie |
| Making Sense of It | Speak with J.D. Collie after the pylons | J.D. Collie |
Blizzard hasn't tied this chain to the dungeon, but it teaches you where the crystal formations and pylons are, and in the original game it was the main use for Power Crystals. Doing it on your way to 58 puts you in the right place with a bag of crystals when the terrace opens.
Blizzard hasn't revealed the encounters, and boss data was encrypted in the beta files. What the game does contain is a set of kill statistics for the dungeon, the same counters every other dungeon has in the Statistics tab. They name four creatures, which almost certainly makes them the bosses.
| Boss | Kill statistic | What we know |
|---|---|---|
| Nanaya | Nanaya Kills (Shaper's Terrace) | Likely the final boss: game data ties this kill to the dungeon's entry in the Legacy achievement. Titan-themed icon |
| Cinder | Cinder Kills (Shaper's Terrace) | Raptor icon |
| Bolt | Bolt Kills (Shaper's Terrace) | Gorilla icon |
| Snowtalon | Snowtalon Kills (Shaper's Terrace) | White raptor icon |
The order above is how the statistics are listed, not the pull order. The names and icons point to three beasts and a titan keeper at the end, and many players read Cinder, Bolt and Snowtalon as fire, lightning and frost. That fits a dungeon built around colored crystals, but it is a theory until someone pulls them. We'll add abilities, tactics and the boss order here after the first clears on launch week.
No item from Shaper's Terrace is known yet, and no loot table has been published anywhere. What we do know are the rules that apply to every dungeon in Forever, plus two pieces of the dungeon that already exist in the game data.
Blizzard re-examined every dungeon drop for Forever and added hundreds of new ones. A few rules from the official announcements will shape your Shaper's Terrace runs:
As the last 58–60 dungeon, the terrace is likely to be one of the main stops for blue pre-raid gear before the raids open on December 9. Our WoW Forever gearing and progression guide explains where dungeon blues fit on the road to raiding.
The only item in the files that mentions the dungeon is the Explorers' League Cartographer's Kit, a quest item new in Forever. Its tooltip reads "Use to sketch a location on the Shapers Terrace map", which points to an Explorers' League quest that sends you around the terrace. The quest itself, its giver and reward haven't been found yet.
Shaper's Terrace counts toward Master Spelunker, the account-wide achievement for clearing all 17 dungeons from level 46 to 60, old and new. It awards a Legacy Point, so a single clear on any of your characters ticks the terrace off for the whole account. To see what else pays out Legacy Points, read our WoW Forever Legacy Points guide.
The biggest talking point about Shaper's Terrace isn't the dungeon itself but what beta explorers found above it. Blizzard lists the terrace only as a five-player dungeon and hasn't announced any raid there, so everything in this section is unconfirmed.
Here is what players reported from the beta, where the area could only be reached by climbing out of bounds:
The raids confirmed for Forever so far are Onyxia's Lair, The Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit, all opening on December 9, and Blizzard's roadmap promises two more raids in 2027. Whether one of those lives above the terrace is pure speculation, and the area could just as well be unfinished space the developers left in the files. For what is actually scheduled, see our WoW Forever raids overview and the WoW Forever roadmap.
With no boss guides out yet, preparation is what you can control before launch week. These steps come from what the game files and Blizzard's preview already show.

Shaper's Terrace was never open in the beta, so several basics will only be answered once the servers go live on November 4.
We'll update this guide with the answers during launch week.
These guides cover the rest of the dungeon road to level 60 and the raids that follow it.
These are the questions players asked most while the dungeon was still locked.
Shaper's Terrace is a level 58–60 dungeon for five players, the highest starting level of the nine new Forever dungeons.
The entrance is in the northern hills of Un'Goro Crater, on the slope above Marshal's Refuge. The closest flight path is Marshal's Refuge, which both factions can use.
No attunement or key has been announced. The only confirmed requirement is the use of Power Crystals from Un'Goro at consoles inside the dungeon.
The game files list kill statistics for four bosses: Nanaya, Cinder, Bolt and Snowtalon. Nanaya looks like the final boss, but abilities and order are unknown until launch.
Not officially. Beta explorers found sealed titan doors and a large area above the dungeon, but Blizzard hasn't announced a raid there. The confirmed raids open on December 9.
No. The beta stopped at level 30 and the dungeon stayed closed, so the first groups will clear it on launch week.
