The release of World of Warcraft Forever differs from the release of most modern games: in effect, it isn't sold as a standalone product at its core and is free for every player with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time immediately upon release. However, the developers have provided several optional editions for those who want additional bonuses, if you're looking to spend properly on this product. In this article, we'll talk about the WoW Forever price, the available editions, and what exactly you get from each of them in our guide.
As we already mentioned, WoW Forever will launch on November 4, 2026, and you don't necessarily have to spend money to access it if you already have an active World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time. This means that players who are already paying for World of Warcraft can simply start playing Forever when it becomes available.
However, Blizzard also offers additional exclusive options for those who want more interesting in-game and other offers. At the moment, there are three digital options:
The prices above are the current US prices and may differ depending on your region. Also keep in mind that the Warcraft Forever Collection is also a limited-time offer and will be available until January 11, 2027, so if that's the one you're interested in, don't miss your chance while the version is available.
For those who want to hold something physical tied to the already much-talked-about project, there is also a physical Collector's Edition. Its essence lies in additional Warcraft collectibles, which come bundled with the ability to explore the revamped Classic Azeroth. It includes a digital code for the Warcraft Forever Collection, meaning it also provides the benefits of the highest digital edition.
Of all the editions mentioned above, the Skyborne Heroic Pack is the cheapest way to unlock the additional WoW Forever content. It costs $29.99, and its main advantage is access to the exclusive new Skyborne race and its starting experience. We don't yet know whether another way to unlock the race will appear, so right now this is the only opportunity to play as one.
The edition includes:
The mount requires the Riding skill to be purchased in-game before you can use it. The Early Name Reservation will allow players to reserve character names before the official launch, although names are still given on a first-come, first-served basis.
But, to repeat, the Skyborne Heroic Pack is not required to play WoW Forever itself. Choose it only if you're interested in a character of the new race.
The Skyborne Epic Pack costs $59.99 and contains everything from the Heroic Pack, but also gives players the opportunity to expand their collection of in-game items and explore the game before its full-scale launch.
In addition to the Heroic Pack rewards, you will receive:
You'll be able to use the 30 days of Game Time immediately after WoW Forever launches. Once you've used up the bonus time, you'll need an active subscription or additional Game Time to continue playing.
The beta, in turn, began on September 17 and will run until October 21, 2026, so this part of the edition is primarily interesting to players who want to explore the pre-release version of the game themselves and get a sense of what to expect from the project. But keep in mind that the beta caps character progression at level 30, and high-level content is unavailable to players.
The Warcraft Forever Collection is the most expensive digital option, costing $79.99. It inherits all the key bonuses of the previous version, the Skyborne Epic Pack, but its real value lies elsewhere — it grants bonus Warcraft content outside WoW Forever, within other projects from the company.
The Collection includes:
The two Figurine items are intended for the Housing system in Modern WoW, and the Housing system itself requires World of Warcraft: Midnight. That said, the developers have hinted that something similar may appear in WoW Forever in the future — there's demand for it among the audience, and it fits perfectly within the logic of a project that has already supplemented the Classic version with its own version of an achievement system, transmogrification, and new pets and mounts.
This edition is therefore more interesting for players who want the broader Warcraft package rather than simply additional rewards in Forever. To repeat, you should hurry if this edition interests you, because it will only be on sale for a limited time, with sales ending on January 11, 2027.
And for collectors — not just in-game, but in the real world — a physical Collector's Edition has been created through the Blizzard Gear Store. Unlike the digital editions, this version is built around physical Warcraft memorabilia, but it also includes a digital code for the Warcraft Forever Collection.
As for the in-game rewards, it grants access to everything just the same as the highest digital package. The physical set adds collectible items for players who want something they can keep outside the game:
The Collector's Edition is available while supplies last, so it is a different option from the regular digital editions rather than simply another way to purchase WoW Forever.
If you only want to play WoW Forever, you don't need to buy any of these editions. An active World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time is enough to access the game.
The Skyborne Heroic Pack is the most reasonable choice if you mainly want the Skyborne race, its starting experience, and the additional cosmetic rewards.
The Skyborne Epic Pack is more suitable for players who also want the 30 days of Game Time and additional bonuses. The beta access was another major reason to choose it before launch.
The Warcraft Forever Collection is aimed more at Warcraft fans who also want Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign. If you only care about WoW Forever, most of its additional price goes toward content outside the game.
Finally, the Collector's Edition is primarily for collectors who want physical Warcraft items in addition to the digital package.
This way, Blizzard has separated the actual access to WoW Forever from the optional bonuses. You can simply use your existing World of Warcraft subscription, while players who want the Skyborne race, cosmetics, Game Time, Warcraft III content, or physical collectibles can choose the edition that suits them best.
