WoW Forever Dungeon Quests Guide

Updated 14 Oct 2026 | Author: Kir | ~9 min

Dungeon quests are the easiest way to turn a dungeon run into fast experience and a guaranteed upgrade in WoW Forever. Every one of the 10 dungeons open on the beta has its own quests, from the Horde quests in Ragefire Chasm to the attunement chain that unlocks the City of Dalaran. Many quests in Classic dungeons gained a new reward choice in Forever, and the four new dungeons come with their own quest lines and some of the strongest quest rewards before level 30.

This guide lists every dungeon quest by dungeon, in level order, with its faction, where it starts and every reward choice. Start with the quick overview table to see which dungeons are worth preparing for, then jump to the dungeon you are about to run.

Quests and rewards are checked against Wowhead data from the October 8 beta build. Numbers can still change before the November 4 launch.

How Dungeon Quests Work in WoW Forever

A dungeon quest pays its normal quest experience plus a bonus on top. The October 1 beta build halved that bonus, so dungeon quests no longer carry a character through the 20s on their own, but they are still worth picking up before every run.

Three things decide whether you can do a quest. Many quests are faction-only, and some, like the Deadmines and Stockade quests, exist only for one side. Some start far from the dungeon, in a capital city or another zone, so you have to collect them before you travel. Others start from an item that drops inside, such as the Abominable Head in the Ruins of Lordaeron or the Titan Relic in Excavation Site: Wetlands. A few dungeons also ask for something before you can enter at all: the City of Dalaran needs the Dalaran Sewer Key from an attunement chain.

Clearing the early dungeons also counts toward Novice Spelunker, an achievement that awards a Legacy Point. Our WoW Forever Legacy Points guide explains what those points unlock.

Ragefire Chasm Quests

Ragefire Chasm has quests only for the Horde. Pick up Hidden Enemies from Thrall first: it pays the best reward, a choice of four Orgrimmar weapons. Our WoW Forever Ragefire Chasm guide covers the bosses and loot.

Hall of Thanes Quests

The Hall of Thanes quests start in Dun Morogh and at the dungeon door in Old Ironforge. The chain from A Visitor to Dun Morogh through Underground Map ends with Old Ironforge Incursion, the best quest in the dungeon. Horde players can take An Ancient Grudge and Important Heirlooms. Our WoW Forever Hall of Thanes guide explains how to find the entrance.

Ruins of Lordaeron Quests

Both factions have quests in the Ruins of Lordaeron. The Horde gets more of them, starting at the city gate and in the Undercity, and the Alliance picks up most of its quests inside the dungeon. Read our WoW Forever Ruins of Lordaeron guide for the hidden events and boss order.

Wailing Caverns Quests

Most Wailing Caverns quests start at Lushwater Oasis and in Ratchet in The Barrens, and both factions can take them. The Horde also gets two quests from Thunder Bluff, including Leaders of the Fang, which pays the best reward. Our WoW Forever Wailing Caverns guide covers the reworked Fang set.

Deadmines Quests

The Deadmines quests are Alliance only and start in Westfall and Stormwind. The long Westfall chain ends with The Defias Brotherhood, and Edwin VanCleef drops An Unsent Letter, which starts The Unsent Letter and leads on to The Stockade Riots. Our WoW Forever Deadmines guide has the full boss route.

Shadowfang Keep Quests

Shadowfang Keep has three regular quests, all for the Horde, plus class quests for both factions. Arugal Must Die is the one to prioritize, and its reward is the Seal of Sylvanas ring. Our WoW Forever Shadowfang Keep guide explains the much harder Archmage Arugal fight.

The Rogue quest must be done alone. Mages can also turn the Blade of Silverlaine into the Coldflame Saber, as described in the Shadowfang Keep guide.

Blackfathom Deeps Quests

Both factions have five quests in Blackfathom Deeps. Blackfathom Villainy starts inside the dungeon from Argent Guard Thaelrid and is the best quest for both sides; the Alliance turns it in at Darnassus and the Horde at Thunder Bluff. Our WoW Forever Blackfathom Deeps guide covers the brazier event before Aku'mai.

Horde groups summon Baron Aquanis by looting the Fathom Core for Amongst the Ruins in the Twilight's Hammer area; he then drops the Strange Water Globe.

Stockade Quests

The Stockade quests are Alliance only, and most of them send you after one boss. Quell the Uprising and The Color of Blood are done entirely inside the prison, and The Stockade Riots continues the letter from the Deadmines. Our WoW Forever Stockade guide covers the 16 new boss drops.

Excavation Site: Wetlands Quests

Most Excavation Site quests start far away, in Redridge, Ashenvale, Orgrimmar or Arathi Highlands, so collect them before the trip. The titan relic chain starts from the Titan Relic that the Relic Guardian drops for both factions. Read our WoW Forever Excavation Site: Wetlands guide for the hidden raptors and diseases.

City of Dalaran Quests

The City of Dalaran has four quests for each faction, all level 33. Before any of them, each faction needs the Dalaran Sewer Key: Alliance players start with An Alarming Request from Emissary Jacques in Southshore, and Horde players start with Key to the City from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill. Our WoW Forever City of Dalaran guide covers the bosses and the secret boss.

WoW Forever Dungeon Quests FAQ

These are the questions players ask most often about dungeon quests.

Do Dungeon Quests Give Bonus Experience in WoW Forever?

Yes. Dungeon quests pay a bonus on top of normal quest experience, but the October 1 beta build halved it. They are still worth doing, just not enough to carry a character through the 20s alone.

Which Dungeon Quests Should I Do First?

Hidden Enemies for the Horde in Ragefire Chasm, Old Ironforge Incursion for the Alliance in the Hall of Thanes, and the titan relic chain in Excavation Site: Wetlands for both factions all pay strong rewards for little extra travel.

Can Horde Players Do Alliance Dungeon Quests?

No. Faction quests stay with their faction, which is why the Deadmines and Stockade quests are Alliance only and the Ragefire Chasm and Shadowfang Keep quests are Horde only. A few quests, such as An Ancient Grudge and most Wailing Caverns quests, are open to both.

How Do You Get the Dalaran Sewer Key?

Alliance players start with An Alarming Request from Emissary Jacques in Southshore, and Horde players with Key to the City from Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill. Both chains end with Heart of Disruption, which hands out the key.

Which Dungeons Have New Quests in WoW Forever?

All four new dungeons, the Hall of Thanes, the Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site: Wetlands and the City of Dalaran, have entirely new quests. Classic dungeons also gained a few, such as Destruction in Deadmines and the Horde version of Seeking the Kor Gem.
