Lower Blackrock Spire is the orc and ogre fortress in the upper half of Blackrock Mountain, held by the Dark Horde of Rend Blackhand. It is the main level 60 farming dungeon for pre-raid gear in WoW Forever: almost every boss can drop a piece of the first dungeon armor sets, and the dungeon holds the quest for the Seal of Ascension, the key to Upper Blackrock Spire. The dungeon is tuned for levels 55 to 60.
Lower Blackrock Spire is not open on the WoW Forever beta yet, so this guide covers the original version of the dungeon: how to get there, every quest, all bosses and the loot. The Forever database already shows changes: the dungeon set pieces have new Forever stats, the Smolderweb Carrier and Worg Carrier pets can now be traded, and Quartermaster Zigris is no longer a rare. We describe everything known so far and will add the rest after the November 4 launch.
Blackrock Mountain stands between the Searing Gorge and the Burning Steppes. Alliance players fly to Morgan's Vigil or Thorium Point, Horde players to Flame Crest, Kargath or Thorium Point. Enter the mountain, run through the gates and turn left at the end of the hallway toward the giant dwarf statue holding a chain. Climb around its legs, jump onto the balcony and go through the door to the portal. Lower and Upper Blackrock Spire share this entrance.
In Classic, Lower Blackrock Spire allowed groups of up to ten players, although most groups ran it with five. The group size in WoW Forever is not confirmed yet.
Lower Blackrock Spire has about a dozen quests. The most important one is Seal of Ascension, which unlocks Upper Blackrock Spire. Warlord's Command for Horde and Maxwell's Mission for Alliance pay the best item rewards and take you to three of the main bosses.

The Forever database already lists the dungeon with its loot and quests. Most quest rewards are still hidden, but several changes are visible.
The first dungeon armor sets drop across Lower Blackrock Spire, and every piece got Forever stats. Caster pieces like the Vest of Elements, Magister's Robes and Dreadmist Bracers gained Spell Power or Spell Penetration. Healer pieces like the Devout Robe and Wildheart Spaulders gained Healing. Melee and tank pieces like the Shadowcraft Tunic, Lightforge Spaulders and Spaulders of Valor gained Hit, critical strike or Defense ratings.
Lower Blackrock Spire has nine main bosses and several rares. Orc packs often include Spellbinders and Pyromancers: interrupt them and crowd control what you can.
Highlord Omokk is a large ogre with a knockback. Tank him with the back to a wall so he cannot throw the tank into other packs. He drops the Gemstone of Spirestone and his head starts the Urok Doomhowl chain.
Shadow Hunter Vosh'gajin hexes and curses players. Dispel the hex and curses and burn her. The fifth Mosh'aru tablet lies in her room.
War Master Voone throws axes and kicks. He is a straightforward fight, but clear the troll packs around him first. He drops the Gemstone of Smolderthorn, and the sixth tablet is in his room. With a Brazier of Beckoning, a group can summon the bonus boss Mor Grayhoof here.
Mother Smolderweb poisons players. Cure the poison, except for the player doing Mother's Milk. The Spire Spider Egg for Kibler lie in her room.
Urok Doomhowl appears when you place the head of Highlord Omokk on his tribute pile. Waves of ogres come first, then Urok himself.
Quartermaster Zigris patrols a room up the left ramp. Clear the room before you pull him. He drops Hands of Power, Cloudrunner Girdle and Plans: Annihilator.
Halycon is a giant worg in the kennel. After she dies, Gizrul the Slavener rushes in, so keep cooldowns ready for a second fight. The worg pup for Kibler waits in the same room.
Overlord Wyrmthalak is the last boss of Lower Blackrock Spire. At half health, two dragonkin adds rush in from behind, so the off-tank or crowd control picks them up. He drops the Gemstone of Bloodaxe.
Bannok Grimaxe can appear among the orc tents before Mother Smolderweb, and he drops Plans: Arcanite Reaper. The Spirestone Butcher, Crystal Fang and Ghok Bashguud are other rares worth killing when they spawn.
Lower Blackrock Spire is one of the best places for pre-raid gear. These are the drops worth farming:
