WoW Forever Warlock Abilities and Spells by Level

A Warlock in WoW Forever trains 49 abilities between levels 1 and 60, and the demons set the pace: Summon Imp at 1, Summon Voidwalker at 10, Summon Succubus and Summon Incubus at 20, Summon Felhunter at 30 and Inferno at 50. Forever renames Curse of Agony and Curse of Doom to Bane of Agony and Bane of Doom, moves Curse of the Elements from 32 to 20, and adds Portal of Summoning at 60 and Incinerate as a talent at 40. Your mounts, Summon Felsteed and Summon Dreadsteed, come at 40 and 60.

Set your level in the planner below: it hides what you already know and shows what you learn at that level and at the next visits. Under it, the same data is written out level by level: every new Warlock ability and every stronger rank from 1 to 60, the key abilities and when you get them, what changed against Classic, the spells that come from talents, and the full Warlock spell list for each specialization.

WoW Forever Warlock Abilities by Level

A Warlock in WoW Forever has 49 abilities with trainer ranks: 45 arrive as new spells, and 4 start with a talent point before the trainer sells the higher ranks. The trainer has something for you on 30 levels: level 1, then every even level from 4 to 60, so plan a visit every two levels. The tables below split the 1 to 60 journey into six steps; the first column is the level, the second the abilities you learn for the first time, the third the new ranks with their rank number. Abilities marked (quest) come from a class quest rather than the trainer.

What Changed for Warlock Abilities in WoW Forever

Forever's Warlock changes are mostly names and timing. Curses that deal damage are now Banes, so Bane of Agony and a Curse can sit on the same target, Curse of the Elements arrives twelve levels earlier with a fourth rank, and Portal of Summoning lets two party members summon at 60. Drain Mana is now a channel that costs mana, and the second rank of Curse of Shadow and third rank of Dark Pact are gone.

These 4 abilities moved the most: they are new in Forever, come earlier than in Classic, no longer need a talent, or have a new name.

Ability Level Change against Classic
Bane of Agony 8 Called Curse of Agony in Classic
Curse of the Elements 20 Ranks 1 to 3 trained earlier than in Classic; Rank 4 new (Classic stops at rank 3)
Bane of Doom 60 Called Curse of Doom in Classic
Portal of Summoning 60 Not in Classic; Season of Discovery had a spell by this name

Another 23 Warlock spells keep their level but have new numbers: damage, healing, cost, cooldown or spell power scaling. Hover a spell in the planner above to see what changed for that exact rank.

Warlock Abilities Removed in WoW Forever

Classic trainers taught these, the Forever trainer does not:

  • Curse of Shadow (Rank 2), level 56 in Classic
  • Dark Pact (Rank 3), level 60 in Classic

Warlock Abilities That Come From Talents

Some Warlock abilities start as a talent. You put the point into the talent tree to get the first rank, and after that the trainer sells the higher ranks like any other spell. Others stay talent-only and the trainer never teaches them. The earliest level is when you can reach that row of the tree with every point in it.

Ability Talent tree Ranks from the trainer
Shadowburn Destruction Rank 2 at 24, Rank 3 at 32, Rank 4 at 40, Rank 5 at 48, Rank 6 at 56
Conflagrate Destruction Rank 2 at 32, Rank 3 at 40, Rank 4 at 48, Rank 5 at 54, Rank 6 at 60
Siphon Life Affliction Rank 2 at 38, Rank 3 at 48, Rank 4 at 58
Incinerate Destruction Rank 2 at 50, Rank 3 at 60
Amplify Curse Affliction Talent only, from level 20
Demonic Sacrifice Demonology Talent only, from level 20
Curse of Exhaustion Affliction Talent only, from level 25
Fel Domination Demonology Talent only, from level 25
Soul Link Demonology Talent only, from level 30
Bane of Havoc Destruction Talent only, from level 30

You can plan these points in our WoW Forever Warlock talents guide, which explains every tree and the builds for leveling, dungeons and PvP.
