WoW Forever Hunter Abilities and Spells by Level
A Hunter in WoW Forever trains 53 abilities between levels 1 and 60, and the class changes at level 10, when Tame Beast, Call Pet and the other pet spells arrive together with Aspect of the Hawk. Aimed Shot is now a trainer spell at level 20 for every Hunter instead of a Marksmanship talent, and Survival gets a new bleed, Lacerate, at 30. Feign Death comes at 30, Volley and Aspect of the Pack at 40, and several Hunter shots and traps now work on new cooldowns.
Set your level in the planner below: it hides what you already know and shows what you learn at that level and at the next visits. Under it, the same data is written out level by level: every new Hunter ability and every stronger rank from 1 to 60, the key abilities and when you get them, what changed against Classic, the spells that come from talents, and the full Hunter spell list for each specialization.
WoW Forever Hunter Abilities by Level
A Hunter in WoW Forever has 53 abilities with trainer ranks: 49 arrive as new spells, and 4 start with a talent point before the trainer sells the higher ranks. The trainer has something for you on 30 levels: level 1, then every even level from 4 to 60, so plan a visit every two levels. The tables below split the 1 to 60 journey into six steps; the first column is the level, the second the abilities you learn for the first time, the third the new ranks with their rank number. Abilities marked (quest) come from a class quest rather than the trainer.

What Changed for Hunter Abilities in WoW Forever
Forever reshapes the Hunter's shots. Aimed Shot is trained by everyone with a 2 second cast and shares its cooldown with Multi-Shot, which now comes back every 6 seconds. Volley has no cooldown, traps are on 30 seconds instead of 15, and Viper Sting gets a 15 second cooldown. New talents add Summon Hawk at 25 and Sniper Shot at 40, and the third rank of Wyvern Sting is gone.
These 2 abilities moved the most: they are new in Forever, come earlier than in Classic, no longer need a talent, or have a new name.
| Ability | Level | Change against Classic |
|---|---|---|
| Aimed Shot | 20 | A Marksmanship talent in Classic; trained without one now |
| Lacerate | 30 | Not in Classic |
Another 21 Hunter spells keep their level but have new numbers: damage, healing, cost, cooldown or spell power scaling. Hover a spell in the planner above to see what changed for that exact rank.

Hunter Abilities That Come From Talents
Some Hunter abilities start as a talent. You put the point into the talent tree to get the first rank, and after that the trainer sells the higher ranks like any other spell. Others stay talent-only and the trainer never teaches them. The earliest level is when you can reach that row of the tree with every point in it.
| Ability | Talent tree | Ranks from the trainer |
|---|---|---|
| Summon Hawk | Beast Mastery | Rank 2 at 36, Rank 3 at 48, Rank 4 at 60 |
| Trueshot Aura | Marksmanship | Rank 2 at 32, Rank 3 at 40, Rank 4 at 50, Rank 5 at 60 |
| Counterattack | Survival | Rank 2 at 30, Rank 3 at 42, Rank 4 at 54 |
| Sniper Shot | Marksmanship | Rank 2 at 48, Rank 3 at 58 |
| Deterrence | Survival | Talent only, from level 20 |
| Intimidation | Beast Mastery | Talent only, from level 30 |
| Scatter Shot | Marksmanship | Talent only, from level 30 |
| Strider Kick | Survival | Talent only, from level 30 |
| Bestial Wrath | Beast Mastery | Talent only, from level 40 |
You can plan these points in our WoW Forever Hunter talents guide, which explains every tree and the builds for leveling, dungeons and PvP.

Hunter Trainer Tips for Leveling
Hunters train many spells they rarely press, so be selective:
- Level 10 is the biggest early visit: every pet spell plus Aspect of the Hawk and Track Humanoids in one go.
- Tracking spells cost little but you only need the ones for what you hunt; Track Beasts and Track Humanoids cover most leveling.
- Aspect of the Cheetah at 20 is the best travel spell until your mount; buy it on the day.
- Keep gold for level 60, the largest Hunter visit with 13 spells and ranks, including Tranquilizing Shot.
