Lyn the Ignored is a secret boss hidden deep in the sewers of the City of Dalaran dungeon. The unlock does not actually begin in Dalaran, though. First, you need a special tome from Shadowfang Keep, then you have to transform it in Ambermill before taking the finished item into the dungeon.
This guide covers the full unlock route: where to get the Black Tome, how to convert it into the Tome of Dalaran, and where to use it inside City of Dalaran to summon Lyn the Ignored.
The entire unlock revolves around the Tome of Dalaran. Its precursor comes from Shadowfang Keep, the conversion happens in Ambermill, and the completed tome is finally used at a purple rune hidden in the City of Dalaran sewers.
| Requirement | Details |

| Secret Boss | Lyn the Ignored |
| Dungeon | City of Dalaran |
| Required Item | Tome of Dalaran |

Do not enter City of Dalaran without converting the Black Tome first.
Enter Shadowfang Keep and clear the dungeon until you reach Archmage Arugal. Defeat him, then check the table in his room. One of the books there becomes interactive after Arugal is dead.
Click that book to receive the Black Tome. Keep it in your inventory; the next part of the unlock happens in Ambermill.
Leave Shadowfang Keep and head to Ambermill in Silverpine Forest. Once there, enter the Dalaran-controlled keep and look for the Ambermill Leyline Focus.
Stand beside the Leyline Focus and use the Black Tome. After a short cast, the item changes into the Tome of Dalaran. At that point, the preparation outside the dungeon is finished.
Tome of Dalaran
Tome of Dalaran Item
Enter the City of Dalaran dungeon with the Tome of Dalaran in your inventory. Follow the normal dungeon route until you defeat the first boss, Atrexis the Grave Knight.
After Atrexis, continue through the sewer. Eventually, the normal path turns right and leads toward the surface. Do not follow it. Keep going straight through the tunnel instead.

Follow the straight sewer tunnel until you enter a room with a purple rune on the ground. This is the hidden summon point for Lyn the Ignored.
Use the Tome of Dalaran while standing at the rune. A short entrance sequence plays, Lyn appears, and the secret encounter begins.
Do not turn right after Atrexis. The secret boss route continues straight through the sewer.
The Tome of Dalaran is not consumed when Lyn the Ignored is summoned. It only goes on a three-minute cooldown. If your group wipes, you can use the same tome again once that cooldown expires.
