WoW Forever Mage Tier Set Guide

Updated 07 Oct 2026 | Author: Dmitro | ~5 min

The Mage tier set is the raid armor WoW Forever adds for the class, a new design rather than a returning Classic set. One set serves Arcane, Fire and Frost alike, so every Mage chases the same pieces.

The colors come first, then the bonuses. After that come the routes to the pieces — and the raid is only one of them.

WoW Forever Mage Tier Set Appearance and Bonuses

Mages get one tier set for all three specs, Manaflare Regalia, and every piece of it, crafted ones included, shares the same look; the set hands out its bonuses at two, three, four and five equipped pieces. Five is the cap.

Manaflare Regalia

  • 2 Pieces: Improves your chance to hit by 1.0%.
  • 3 Pieces: Reduces the cooldown of your Counterspell by 5 sec.
  • 4 Pieces: Increases damage done by your spells and effects by up to 21 when fighting Elementals.
  • 5 Pieces: Your Frostfire Bolt spell has a 10% increased chance to trigger Missile Barrage, gains 10% increased critical strike chance while your Combustion spell is active, and has a 10% increased chance to trigger Fingers of Frost.

How to Get the WoW Forever Mage Tier Set

Every slot of the set has a raid version, and four of them (shoulders, gloves, legs and boots) also have a version a tailor can make. Both count toward the same bonuses. The catch is a limit on how many crafted pieces a Mage can wear at once.

Blizzard names Hyjal Summit, a 20-player raid, and the Barrow Deeps, a 10-player one, as the home of the new tier sets, and both open on December 9, 2026. The raid pieces are item level 65 cloth, Mage-only and Bind on Pickup (BoP), and they need level 60.

Slot Manaflare Regalia piece Armor
Head Manaflare Crown 81
Shoulder Manaflare Mantle 75
Chest Manaflare Robes 100
Hands Manaflare Gloves 63
Legs Manaflare Pants 88
Feet Manaflare Boots 69

These tooltips show item level and armor but no stats: Forever hides an item's stats until it drops for someone on your realm. Its raids also open without a dungeon journal, so the boss behind each slot is found inside the raid itself.

Crafted Mage Tier Pieces from Tailoring

The crafted versions are item level 61 instead of 65 and Bind on Equip (BoE), so a Mage without the profession can get one from a tailor.

Slot Manaflare Regalia piece Armor
Shoulder Manaflare Mantle 71
Hands Manaflare Gloves 59
Legs Manaflare Pants 83
Feet Manaflare Boots 65

Each craft needs Malleable Essence of Nature, which comes from disenchanting items from Hyjal Summit or the Barrow Deeps.

  • Legs: 5 Malleable Essence of Nature, 3 Mooncloth, 22 Bolt of Runecloth, 8 Rune Thread
  • Shoulders, gloves or boots: 3 Malleable Essence of Nature, 2 Mooncloth, 16 Bolt of Runecloth, 8 Rune Thread

The crafts also need a Loom, a Tailoring 300 camp object placed next to a campfire, which gives the camp the benefits of a Faction Banner as well. A tailor learns to place it from Blueprint: Loom, one of the Blueprints that drop from dungeon bosses, and our WoW Forever professions guide covers how camps work.

Tailoring 300 is the gate for every crafted piece, from the patterns to the Loom itself. If leveling the profession is the step that does not fit your schedule, a WoW Forever professions boost is an alternative path to that skill.

Artisan's Tier: How Many Crafted Pieces a Mage Can Wear

Every crafted piece is Unique-Equipped: Artisan's Tier (1), so a Mage can wear only one of them at a time, whatever the slot. The Rousing Seed Pod raises the limit to two; it costs 10 gold and needs level 60 plus Revered with the Guardians of Hyjal.

That limit shapes the whole set. Before the Seed Pod, a 5-piece bonus takes at least four raid pieces plus one crafted piece; after it, three raid pieces and two crafted ones are enough, and the two crafted pieces alone already give the 2-piece bonus. Either way, the crown and the robes come from the raid, because neither slot has a crafted version.

For what it's worth, the cheapest crafted piece to start with is any slot but the legs.

Gloves, shoulders or boots cost 9 Essence the first time (6 for the pattern, 3 for the craft), and the first pair of pants costs 13. Once a pattern is learned, every further craft from it costs only the 3 or 5 Essence in the recipe.

Mage Tier Set Vendors in Mount Hyjal

Mage Tier Set Vendors in Mount Hyjal

Both vendors stand in Mount Hyjal, below the Summit of Eternity. Aisarra Nightmeadow (71, 51.2) sells all four Mage patterns for Malleable Essence of Nature, and Rhylin Stonethorn (70.6, 51.2), a few steps away, sells the Rousing Seed Pod. The patterns need Tailoring 300 and bind to the tailor who buys them. No reputation needed, unlike the Seed Pod.

Mage Talents and Tier Sets for Other Classes

The 5-piece runs through three talents, one from each tree: Missile Barrage in Arcane, Combustion in Fire and Fingers of Frost in Frost, all three tied to Frostfire Bolt. Arcane also holds Improved Counterspell, which adds a silence to Counterspell, the spell the 3-piece works on. Our talents guide walks through all four. It also covers the rest of the Arcane, Fire and Frost trees.

For an alt, the tier set overview shows the set of every class in all four colors, with its SD version.
