In the past few expansions, Engineering has not had much love. Especially in Shadowlands, Engineers felt forgotten and left behind with very few unique and useful items. The good news is that Engineering in Dragonflight is redeemed! Unlike before, Engineers will be very busy in Dragonflight with all of the new types of items they can start crafting and selling! Engineers are in charge of crafting Guns, a handful of Wrist pieces as well as Goggles for buyers in need. To make the profession a bit more interesting, Dragonflight introduces a new system of Tinkers. These are modules that can be crafted and slotted into crafted gear. WoW Engineering Boost give you access to different types of gadgets, tools, accessories, and even bombs to craft and sell to others. These items can help others improve their stats, and damage, or even help players craft items on the go!

With the new system of Profession Equipment in Dragonflight, Engineers are tasked with supplying 5 different professions with their BiS tools and accessories. Because of how complex Engineering is and the number of recipe types you can learn, you will always be busy crafting items. This means you will have a lot of diversity within your stock which is always a plus side for crafters. Crafting Stations are a brand new system in Dragonflight. Normally, crafters will be required to stand at these stations and craft within major flight points and cities. Engineers can craft Portable Work Stations. These can be huge for crafters who need to craft some quick potions before a raid or quickly restock their items during questing!

Engineers are utilizing the new Crafting Order system as well as the traditional Auction House. They have the opportunity to craft many different consumables to be sold across the Region while focusing on high-end armor and weapons to sell locally thru Crafting Orders.

Things you can make with WoW Engineering

Engineering in Dragonflight is a very diverse profession. You will have the opportunity to unlock many types of recipes and items such as various weapons, enchantments, utility tools and gadgets to craft for yourself or others. It may take a while to unlock everything as you will need to fill out 4 different Specialization Trees; however, once you do, you have many crafting options available to you.

• Tinkers: These new items like Tinker: Breath of Neltharion or Tinker: Supercollide-O-Tron can be slotted into crafted gear and weapons to enhance their stats and abilities.
• Armor: Engineers will mainly be crafting Goggles, Battle-Ready Binoculars, but they also can craft a handful of Wrist pieces.
• Guns: Whenever you need a P.E.W. x2 or a Ol' Smoky, Engineers got you covered!
• Utility Items: There are so many types of utility items that can be crafted by Engineers. These include Scopes, Portable Crafting Stations, Bombs, and so much more.
• Miscellaneous Items: Do you like Ducks? If so, Engineering is the profession for you! Have an army of D.U.C.K.O.Y. to help you fight or have a cute Quack-E to follow you wherever you go!

New Dragonflight Engineering Specializations

Each Profession has its own set of unique Specializations, tailored to fit and enhance crafting and gathering capabilities thematically. Engineering in Dragonflight is no exception, with access to these Specializations: Optimized Efficiency, Explosives, Function Over Form, or Mechanical Mind. Engineers will need to spend 525 Knowledge points to max out their Specializations: 150 in Optimized Efficiency, 130 in Explosives, 135 in Function Over Form and 110 in Mechanical Mind.

• Optimized Efficiency - this tree focuses on your general crafting ability within Engineering. It is meant to improve all aspects of your profession regardless of the items you choose to craft. Unlock the ability to craft Engineering items way faster. Unlock the ability to regain materials whenever you use your items that you have crafted as well as Rummage Through Scrap to find undamaged parts to put towards your future crafts. Improve your overall Engineering skill, resourcefulness, multicraft and inspiration whenever you are crafting Engineering items.
• Explosives - this tree focuses on your ability to craft Bombs and Deathtraps within WoW Engineering. Not only will you be able to craft these items at a higher quality, you will also be able to use them more efficiently as well. Reduce the likelihood of bombs or traps exploding and causing damage to your player. Unlock the ability to use Finishing Reagents whenever you are crafting bombs. Improve your overall Engineering skill, resourcefulness, multicraft and inspiration whenever you are crafting Bombs and other Explosives.
• Function Over Form - this tree focuses on improving the quality of your crafted equipment, weapons and accessories. Unlock the use of Optional and Finishing Reagents on these items. Unlock the ability to craft Completely Safe Rockets, Endless Stack of Needles, High Intensity Thermal Scanner, Magazine of Healing Darts and various other consumables. Improve your crafting ability and stats when crafting these types of items.
• Mechanical Mind - this tree focuses on creating and improving your crafting ability for various gadgets and handy items. Significantly increase your engineering crafting skills and stats when creating these items. Allow you to use your creations and gadgets without having them explode. Unlock the ability to craft toys like Wyrmhole Generator, S.A.V.I.O.R., and various Tinkers like Tinker: Supercollide-O-Tron.

What profession goes with WoW Engineering?

Mining is the only pair to the Dragonflight Engineering profession since ore will be your primary crafting material. But, if you have another source of ore and stone, like an Auction House, you could always speak with our manager and add another secondary profession.
