Primordial Stones are a new game feature and essentially the best Dragonflight 10.0.7 gems. These stones empower players with unique abilities and can only be socketed in Onyx Annulet and can be upgraded, crafted and broken down.
There are 7 families of Primordial Stones, each having a corresponding Condensed Magic item that allows you to create a Primordial Stone from the element within that Primordial Stone family. We have grouped them all into a table:
Primordial Stones can be obtained by doing several activities in the Forbidden Reach:
Condensed Magic items allow you to create a random Primordial Stone from the element within that Primordial Stone family. Full list of Primordial Gems grouped by family is posted above. Condensed Magic is awarded for completing events in the Forbidden Reach or can be purchased from Researcher Imareth for 10 Dormant Primordial Fragment.
Of course, there is an RNG factor involved in obtaining best Primordial Stones for your class, but with our Primordial Stones boost it won't require investing much time and effort on your part.
Primordial sockets are found only in Onyx Annulet and can hold Primordial Stones, each stone having a unique effect. You may manipulate Primordial Stones in your Onyx Annulet in the following ways: breaking down Primordial Stones you don't need, crafting the Primordial Stones you want and upgrading the best Primordial Stones to become more powerful.
You can remove Primordial Stones you don't need from your Onyx Annulet using the special jewelcrafting kit located to the left of the blacksmithing area.
Upon reaching the table, you will gain the ability to Pluck Out Primordial Stone through an Extra Action Button. This special ability enables you to extract a Primordial Stone from your Onyx Annulet without causing any damage to it. As a result, you can replace or upgrade specific Primordial gems with ease. Once you have access to this ability, simply open the socket menu on your Onyx Annulet as you would for any gem socketing, and use the Pluck Out Primordial Stone ability to remove the stone you no longer want in your ring.
You can break down Primordial Stones you no longer need into Dormant Primordial Fragment using the blacksmithing anvil located to the right of the blacksmithing area. Breaking 1 Primordial Stone awards 6 Dormant Primordial Fragment. Dormant Primordial Fragment can be used to either create new Primordial Stones, or upgrade ilvl of an existing Primordial Stone.
Jewelcrafters can upgrade Primordial Stones using the Unstable Elementium, a new recipe added in patch 10.0.7. The recipe drops from a rare Amephyst in the Forbidden Reach. Recipe requires 50 points in Dragonflight Jewelcrafting to learn.
Unstable Elementium requires 10 Dormant Primordial Fragment and 25 Silken Gemdust. It takes 2 Unstable Elementium to upgrade 1 Primordial Stone to ilvl 424 (one Unstable Elementium will upgrade it to ilvl 418, and the second one to 424).
Item level of your Onyx Annulet is based of the average ilvl of the three equipped Primordial Stones, higher ilvl means Onyx Annulet will have more Stamina stat. However, each Primordial Stone has to be upgraded individually.
