Other Currencies in Path of Exile are the crafting and gambling orbs that sit outside the primary trade currency loop. While Chaos Orbs and Divine Orbs function as the main economy denomination, these orbs serve specific crafting operations — re-rolling sockets and links, adding or removing modifiers, upgrading item rarities, corrupting items for enchant modifiers, and gambling for divination cards or unique items. Chromatic Orbs became significantly rarer in patch 3.29 following the socket color rework. Previously they dropped frequently as a baseline crafting currency — now drop rates are much lower because the mechanic they serve changed: gems work in any socket regardless of color, but matching socket color to gem color grants +10% gem quality, making Chromatic Orbs a targeted upgrade rather than a mandatory crafting step. In Curse of the Allflame, expect Chromatic Orbs to trade at a higher Chaos equivalent than in previous leagues.
