Leatherworking in Dragonflight is a strong Profession choice for both utility and profit. With all changes in expansion, you can make a lot of gold with all that valuable consumables and leather and mail gear. Since dracthyrs wear only mail armor, that’s already a great potential source of profit since many players will want to try out the new heroic class/race. Of course, rogues, hunters, druids, and monks might want mail armor too. All high ilvl gear that Leatherworkers can craft is BoP, meaning for Those without skill in the Profession, Work Orders will be the only way to obtain that gear. All high ilvl gear that Leatherworkers can craft is Bind on Pickup, meaning for Those without skill in the Profession, Work Orders will be the only way to obtain that gear. Leg armor kits and drums are consumables traditionally sold very well, and everyone needs to upgrade to new armor.
But armor isn't all that WoW Leatherworking covers. Dragonflight delivers new toys as well. Everyone loves collecting, and fun new items like Gnoll Tent and Tuskarr Beanbag are sure to catch the eye of Auction House shoppers.
If this is your first time choosing to learn ragonflight Leatherworking, you might be wondering what it is you'll actually be crafting. Primarily focused on Leather and Mail Armor, Leatherworking also allows for the creation of Weapons, Profession Equipment, Toys, and Consumables. Sadly, Dragonflight did not provide Leatherworkers with a craftable mount - however, the complexity and depth of the Armor Specializations more than makes up for that, and it always could be added in future upgrades.
Each Profession has its own set of unique Specializations, tailored to fit and enhance crafting and gathering capabilities thematically. Leatherworking in Dragonflight is no exception, with access to these Specializations: Leatherworking Discipline, Leather Armor Crafting, Mail Armor Crafting, and Primordial Leatherworking. In total, Leatherworkers will need to spend 750 Knowledge points to max out their Specializations: 140 in Leatherworking Discipline, 250 in Leather Armor Crafting, 250 in Mail Armor Crafting, and 110 in Primordial Leatherworking.
You have a few different opportunities to learn Dragonflight Leatherworking from several NPC.
Skinning is the only pair to the Dragonflight Leatherworking profession since leathers, hides, and scales will be your primary crafting material.
