Void-Touched Hawkstrider Mount Guide

Updated 08 Jun 2026 | Author: Invord | ~6 min

The Void-Touched Hawkstrider is one of the new Midnight-era mounts tied to progression through a structured outdoor challenge system rather than pure RNG. Instead of dropping from a rare or being sold immediately for a simple event currency, this mount asks you to work through a full reward path: unlock the content, raise your renown, and then purchase the mount once the required vendor option becomes available.

That alone makes the Void-Touched Hawkstrider feel more substantial than a normal cosmetic vendor reward. It is not something you pick up accidentally - it is something you unlock through repeated participation in Ritual Sites. For players who enjoy long-term progression, scalable difficulty, and mounts that reflect actual investment into a system, this is one of the more meaningful rewards coming with patch 12.0.5.

  • Patch: 12.0.5 "Midnight"
  • Mount type: Ground
  • Source: Renown unlock + vendor purchase
  • Cost: 4500 Voidlight Marl
  • Unlock requirement: Renown 8
  • Repeat attempts: Unlimited farming

How to get Void-Touched Hawkstrider

Void-Touched Hawkstrider

To get the Void-Touched Hawkstrider, you first need to reach Ritual Sites Renown Rank 8 with the new Ritual Sites progression track. Once the required renown level is unlocked, the mount becomes available for purchase from Sergeant Vornin in Silvermoon City for 4500 Voidlight Marl.

That means this mount has two separate gates. The first is progression - you need the renown level. The second is currency - you need enough Voidlight Marl to actually buy it. If you only farm currency without pushing renown, the mount stays locked. If you hit the renown milestone but ignore your currency, you still cannot purchase it right away. Both parts matter.

In practical terms, your real goal is not “find a rare and get lucky.” Your goal is to unlock Ritual Sites, learn how the system works, raise renown through repeated clears, and stockpile the required currency along the way. Once that is done, the final step is just a vendor purchase.

Want a faster route to Renown 8 and the required Voidlight Marl? Our Void-Touched Hawkstrider service helps you progress Ritual Sites efficiently and secure the mount without turning the grind into weeks of trial-and-error farming.

Where to find entry points

There are currently two known Ritual Site locations: Daggerspine Point in Eversong Woods and Broken Throne in Zul'Aman. Like similar rotating systems, availability moves between these locations rather than keeping both active at the same time.

That means your weekly farming route will partly depend on which Ritual Site is currently active. If you are planning to push renown efficiently every reset, checking the rotation first should become part of your normal routine.

  • /way 34.9 65.4 - Daggerspine Point Ritual Site
  • /way 29.7 78.2 - Broken Throne Ritual Site

Ritual Sites Guide

Grinding Renown

Ritual Sites have their own Renown track with 8 tiers of rewards and bonuses. Before you can really start farming this progression efficiently, you first need to unlock the system through the quest Ritual Interest, which begins from the priority quest chain starting with Ranger Captain's Summons.

Renown is earned primarily by completing Ritual Sites. Higher tier difficulties give more renown, and players can also supplement their progress with items such as Ritual Site Reports, Ritual Tablet Fragment, and Ritual Tablet.

One of the most important things about this system is that it currently appears to have no hard timegate. That means once the main quests are done, players can keep farming Ritual Sites repeatedly for continued renown gains. Because higher-tier runs offer better rewards and stronger progression, well-geared or well-coordinated players should strongly consider pushing higher difficulty if they can do so consistently.

Renown tip: Since the mount unlock happens at Renown 8, your first priority should be progression speed, not just farming Voidlight Marl. Currency matters only after the unlock is reached.

Best way to farm Void-Touched Hawkstrider

If this mount is your main target, the cleanest strategy is to split the grind into two distinct phases. First, push renown as quickly and efficiently as possible until you hit Renown 8. After that, focus fully on building enough Voidlight Marl to pay the vendor cost.

  • Unlock the system first: Complete Ritual Interest and the supporting quest chain
  • Push the highest stable tier: Better difficulty means better renown and better total rewards
  • Unlock more Challenges: These improve Spoils and long-term efficiency
  • Prioritize Renown 8 first: The mount cannot be purchased before that point anyway
  • Then finish the currency grind: Once unlocked, focus on the full 4500 Voidlight Marl

This two-stage approach makes the grind feel much more logical. Before Renown 8, you are farming access. After Renown 8, you are farming the actual purchase cost. Thinking about the mount this way usually prevents wasted time and keeps progression much easier to track.

Buying the mount

Once you reach the required renown level, the final step is simple. You just need to visit Sergeant Vornin in Silvermoon City and buy the Void-Touched Hawkstrider for 4500 Voidlight Marl.

The vendor can be found at:

  • /way 48.6 50.6 - Sergeant Vornin
Void-Touched Hawkstrider

That means the purchase itself is easy. The real work is everything that comes before it: unlocking the system, raising renown, learning how to clear Ritual Sites efficiently, and stockpiling the required currency. Once all of that is done, the mount is simply a guaranteed vendor reward.

Useful Add-ons for Void-Touched Hawkstrider

Since this mount is tied to repeated challenge runs, route efficiency, and progression farming rather than scripted raid encounters, the most useful addons are the ones that improve navigation, map readability, and overall farming comfort.

  • TomTom: Useful for waypointing Ritual Site entrances, quest NPCs, and Sergeant Vornin
  • Leatrix Maps: Improves zone readability while moving between Ritual Site locations
  • Leatrix Plus: Excellent quality-of-life support for longer farming sessions
  • BtWQuests: Helpful for keeping supporting patch questlines and unlock chains organized

Because this grind is progression-based rather than encounter-script-based, navigation and interface quality matter more than heavy combat addons. The smoother your repeated Ritual Site loop becomes, the less exhausting the mount farm feels.
