The Spawn of Horridon is a massive armored direhorn mount from Mists of Pandaria. Modeled after Horridon himself, this mount features heavy plate armor, brutal proportions, and a distinctly primal aesthetic that perfectly reflects the savage power of Zandalari warbeasts.
This mount is a classic raid drop collectible, rewarding players who consistently clear legacy content week after week. While the encounter itself is trivial at modern levels, Spawn of Horridon remains a long-term farming target due to its low drop chance.
The Spawn of Horridon mount has roughly a 2% drop rate from Horridon in the Throne of Thunder. The drop chance is the same on all difficulties (excluding LFR), and raid size does not affect it.
The entrance to Throne of Thunder is located in the central area of the Isle of Thunder.
To reach the Isle of Thunder, you need to start the quest Thunder Calls, which can be found near the Shado-Pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes. If the quest was completed previously, a permanent portal to the Isle of Thunder will be available at the Shado-Pan Garrison.
To travel to Pandaria, use the portal to The Jade Forest from the portal room in either Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

Horridon is the second boss of the raid. To access him, you must first defeat Jin'rokh the Breaker, the opening encounter.
Enter the raid and follow the linear path to Jin’rokh. Once defeated, the door behind him will open, allowing you to proceed. The next area features narrow bridges with strong wind currents that can push your character off, so move carefully.
Additionally, ghostly Zandalari patrol the bridges. Touching the circular aura around them will often result in being knocked off, so avoid their paths while crossing.
After safely crossing the bridges, defeat the enemies guarding the door to Horridon’s arena. A short role-play sequence will trigger, after which Horridon will break free from his cage and become attackable.
The encounter is trivial at modern levels. You can focus all damage directly on Horridon and ignore the remaining mechanics.
Once Horridon is defeated, loot him for a chance to obtain the Spawn of Horridon mount.
