Priestess' Moonsaber Mount Guide

Updated 10 Aug 2026 | Author: Invord | ~9 min

The Priestess' Moonsaber is an elegant, luminous saber cat whose pale, moonlit coat and piercing blue eyes embody the grace and power of the night elf priestesses who once rode them into battle. Its sleek, muscular frame, silent movements, and ethereal glow make it a favourite among Alliance collectors who appreciate mounts with a deep connection to Kaldorei heritage. The flavour text speaks to its sacred origins, though the exact words remain a mystery to those who have not yet earned this prestigious companion. For collectors who value prestige and dedication, this mount is a true trophy — a creature of the night that carries the weight of the Alliance's war effort in Darkshore.

Introduced in patch 8.1.0 “Tides of Vengeance”, the Priestess' Moonsaber stands as one of the most prestigious Alliance-exclusive rewards from the Warfront system. Unlike many rare mounts that rely on luck, this reward is earned through a combination of consistent effort, strategic currency farming, and dedication to the Alliance cause. The moon-touched saber cat is not just a mount — it is a symbol of your commitment to the Warfront campaign, a companion that carries the weight of your victories in one of Azeroth's most contested battlegrounds. For collectors who value reliability over RNG, this mount offers a clear and rewarding path, though one that requires patience, coordination, and a willingness to engage deeply with the Warfront system.

  • Added in patch: 8.1.0 “Tides of Vengeance”
  • Mount type: Flying
  • Source: Vendor purchase (Service Medals)
  • Faction: Alliance only
  • Requirements: Level 50, Warfront access

How to Get Priestess' Moonsaber

Priestess' Moonsaber

The Priestess' Moonsaber is purchased from Provisioner Stoutforge in Boralus for 750 7th Legion Service Medal. This is a 100% guaranteed acquisition — there is no RNG involved, no rare spawns to camp, and no low drop rates to overcome. Simply earn the required currency and buy the mount.

The vendor is located on the docks of Boralus Harbor, in front of the ship Wind's Redemption:

Upon purchasing this mount, you will also automatically receive the Bloodthirsty Dreadwing mount, which can be used on your Horde characters. This makes the Priestess' Moonsaber a valuable purchase for Alliance players who also collect Horde mounts.

Unlocking Warfronts – The First Step

Before you can begin earning Service Medals, you must unlock access to the Warfront system. This requires progressing through the Battle for Azeroth endgame campaign.

Step 1 – Unlock World Quests

Halford Wyrmbane

After completing these three steps, you should be able to access Warfront content.

Earning 7th Legion Service Medals – The Currency

7th Legion Service Medals are the primary currency for this mount. They can be earned through several methods, which are detailed below. As of The War Within prepatch, Service Medals are transferrable between all characters on your account (same faction only), so farming on multiple alts is highly recommended.

Warfronts – The Largest Source

Warfronts award the most medals out of any activity. However, they require a premade group of 10 to queue. As such, it can be fairly difficult to find a group. Check different Group Finder channels and thematic Discord servers for faster group recruitment.

It is best to do the Heroic version of a warfront, as you will be able to complete the Normal and Heroic quests at the same time. You can pick these quests up from Ralston Karn across from the Wind's Redemption:

/way #1161 65.9 26 – Ralston Karn

Completing both Darkshore quests will earn you a total of 30 Service Medals. Completing both Stromgarde quests will get you 65 Service Medals in total.

World Quests – Daily Medals

Every day, there will be five new world quests you can complete in either Darkshore or Arathi Highlands, depending on which your faction currently owns. There is always a world boss up as well, but you can only kill it for Medals once per warfront cycle (2 weeks).

To get to Darkshore or Arathi Highlands, there is always a portal to the zone your faction controls just across from Provisioner Stoutforge at the Boralus Harbor.

Faction Assaults – Bonus Medals

Faction Assaults occur when either the Horde or Alliance forces invade an area of the opposite faction in Kul Tiras or Zandalar. They happen roughly once a day and last for seven hours. You can check if they're up by looking at the front page of Wowhead under the BFA section.

Faction Assaults

When you get to the area, you'll automatically be given a quest where you have to complete four faction assault world quests in the area. These quests will have the Alliance symbol on their icons.

After completing four world quests, you will get to the final quest where you will be asked to do something unique for each zone. Once you've done the last step, you will receive 5 Service Medals.

Paragon Cache – Endgame Medals

The 7th Legion Supplies cache is awarded every 10,000 reputation after reaching Exalted with the 7th Legion. It always contains 20 Service Medals.

All the activities listed previously will also give you reputation with the 7th Legion. In addition, you can farm more reputation by completing 7th Legion world quests on Zandalar. These world quests reset daily.

Emissaries – Bonus Reputation

The emissary system selects one faction that you can earn bonus reputation and rewards from each day. Each emissary lasts for three days. You can check which reputations have emissaries by opening your map in Kul Tiras or Zandalar and looking at the bottom left corner.

To complete the emissary, simply complete four associated faction world quests. Then head to Vindicator Jaelaana to the right of the Wind's Redemption:

The Value of Alts – Maximising Your Medal Farm

As of The War Within prepatch, Service Medals are transferrable between all characters on your account (same faction only). This makes farming on multiple Alliance alts the fastest way to reach 750 Medals.

Why alts matter for Priestess' Moonsaber:

  • World Quests: Each Alliance character can complete the five daily world quests in Darkshore or Arathi Highlands for additional Medals. With 5 alts, you can earn 5x the daily Medal income.
  • Faction Assaults: Each character can complete the assault quests for 5 Medals each time an assault is active. Assaults occur roughly once a day, so multiple characters multiply your gains.
  • Warfront Quests: While the Heroic warfront requires a group, each character can complete the Normal and Heroic quests for a large Medal boost when the warfront is active.
  • Paragon Caches: Each character can work toward their own 7th Legion paragon caches, providing additional Medals.

Recommended alt strategy:

  • Have 3-5 Alliance characters at level 50+ with World Quests and Warfront access unlocked.
  • Complete the daily world quests in Darkshore or Arathi Highlands on each character.
  • Participate in Faction Assaults on each character when they are active.
  • Pool all Service Medals via the Warband bank and purchase the mount on your main character.
  • Important: Service Medals are not transferrable cross-faction. You must farm on Alliance characters to purchase this Alliance-exclusive mount.
Building a stable of Alliance alts for the Medal farm takes time. If you need to expand your roster quickly, a structured power leveling service is an alternative for players who want to maximise their efficiency with multiple characters.

Extra Tips & Common Mistakes

  • Focus on Warfronts for the biggest gains: Completing both Normal and Heroic Warfront quests provides the most Medals in a single activity. Prioritise these when the warfront is active.
  • Don't forget Faction Assaults: These provide easy Medals and reset daily. Check Wowhead's “Today in WoW” section to see if one is active.
  • Check the Warfront cycle: The Warfront cycle determines which zone (Darkshore or Arathi Highlands) is active. Plan your farming accordingly.
  • This mount is Alliance only: The Priestess' Moonsaber is only available to Alliance characters. However, purchasing it grants the Bloodthirsty Dreadwing for Horde characters.
  • Pool Medals via the Warband bank: Service Medals are transferrable between characters on your account. Use this to consolidate your farming efforts.
  • Be patient: 750 Medals is a significant grind, especially if you are relying on daily world quests. Consistent effort over several weeks is the key to success.

Useful Addons for Farming Service Medals

Farming Service Medals and tracking Warfront progress is much easier with a few quality-of-life addons. Below are the most useful tools for this grind.

  • World Quest Tracker: Displays all available world quests on a single panel, helping you quickly identify which quests award Service Medals. Essential for efficient daily farming.
  • HandyNotes – Battle for Azeroth (plugin): Shows Warfront locations, faction assault areas, and world quest locations on your map. Includes Darkshore and Arathi Highlands rare spawns.
  • TomTom / Paste: Set waypoints to Warfront tables, vendors, and world quest locations. Use /way #1161 66.8 25 for Provisioner Stoutforge.
  • SavedInstances: Tracks which characters have completed their Warfront quests, world quests, and faction assaults for the week. Essential for managing multiple alts.
  • Warfront Tracker (optional): A lightweight addon that shows the current Warfront cycle and estimated time until the next phase.
  • Leatrix Plus: Quality-of-life improvements like auto-repair, auto-sell junk, and faster interactions — small time savers that add up over a long grind.

Pro tip: Combine World Quest Tracker with SavedInstances for maximum efficiency. World Quest Tracker shows you which quests are available, and SavedInstances tracks which characters have already completed them, so you never waste time on overlapping efforts.

The Priestess' Moonsaber requires 750 Service Medals — a significant grind. For players who prefer a guaranteed outcome without the time investment, a professionally managed Priestess' Moonsaber acquisition service offers a structured alternative to manual farming.
