To obtain the Onyx Cloud Serpent, you must reach Exalted with the Shado-Pan faction and complete the final quest Surprise Attack!, which concludes a short two-part quest chain.

If you are not yet Exalted with the Shado-Pan, the fastest way to gain reputation is by farming rare mobs across Pandaria, specifically the Zandalari Warbringer and Zandalari Warscout.
These rares can drop Stolen Celestial Insignia, which grants 1,000 reputation with one of several Pandaria factions, including Shado-Pan. This allows you to progress multiple reputations at the same time while farming efficiently.
The Warbringers spawn in fixed locations with a respawn timer of roughly 30–60 minutes, while the Warscouts patrol larger areas and respawn slightly faster. The most efficient approach is to rotate between zones and check all spawn points.

An additional rare, War-God Dokah, located on the Isle of Giants, can also drop these tokens, although reaching him is less convenient.
If you prefer a more traditional approach, you can complete daily quests in the Shado-Pan Garrison located in Townlong Steppes. Each daily provides around 300 reputation, but this method is significantly slower compared to farming rare mobs.
Regardless of your method, once you reach Revered, it is highly recommended to purchase Grand Commendation of the Shado-Pan from Rushi the Fox, which doubles all future reputation gains.
After reaching Exalted, head to Master Snowdrift in the Shado-Pan Garrison to start the quest Mogu Incursions. Completing it will unlock the final quest Surprise Attack!.
