Fierce Razorwing Mount Guide

Updated 05 Sep 2026 | Author: Invord | ~8 min

The Fierce Razorwing is a magnificent, predatory creature whose sleek, winged form and fierce, untamed nature make it one of the most coveted mounts from Korthia's wilderness. Its sharp, angular silhouette and the silent menace it exudes make it a favourite among collectors who appreciate mounts with a wild, dangerous aesthetic. The flavour text speaks to its elusive nature: "Razorwings generally stay away from other Korthian species, but with time and patience, they can be tamed as well." For collectors who value prestige and the satisfaction of a long-term reputation grind, this mount is a true trophy — a symbol of your unwavering dedication to Death's Advance and the secrets of Korthia.

Introduced in patch 9.1.0 "Chains of Domination", the Fierce Razorwing is the ultimate prize for collectors who have dedicated themselves to the grim front lines of Korthia. Unlike the guaranteed purchase of its shardhide cousin, this sleek predator is a true test of luck and perseverance — it can only be obtained through Death's Advance Supplies caches, earned by pushing your reputation far beyond Exalted. With an estimated drop rate of around 9%, some players have opened over a dozen caches before finally spotting this elusive creature. For collectors who live for the thrill of rare drops and have already proven their dedication to Death's Advance, the Fierce Razorwing represents the perfect capstone to the Korthia experience.

  • Added in patch: 9.1.0 "Chains of Domination"
  • Mount type: Flying
  • Source: Paragon cache
  • Requirements: Exalted with Death's Advance
  • Time to complete: 3-4 weeks (depending on reputation gains and cache RNG)

How to Get Fierce Razorwing

Fierce Razorwing

The Fierce Razorwing has a chance to drop from Death's Advance Supplies — the paragon cache awarded every 10,000 reputation after reaching Exalted with Death's Advance. This means you must first reach Exalted, then continue earning reputation to receive additional caches, each with a chance to contain the mount.

This is a low drop chance mount with an estimated rate of approximately 9%. It may take several caches before the Fierce Razorwing appears. The mount is Bind-on-Pickup, so it must be looted and learned on the character that obtains it.

Upon reaching 10,000 reputation past Exalted, you will get a quest Supplies from Death's Advance offered by Duchess Mynx, the Death's Advance Quartermaster at Keeper's Respite in Korthia, to collect this box

Tip: The real challenge is reaching Exalted and earning multiple paragon caches. The Fierce Razorwing has an estimated 9% drop rate, so be prepared to open several caches before it appears. Some players have reported needing 12-14 caches or more.

Unlocking Korthia

To unlock Korthia, you must first complete chapter 2 of your chosen covenant campaign after your first meeting with Ve'nari and rescuing Baine Bloodhoof from Torghast. Then, you will have to do the second chapter of the 9.1 campaign which starts with Opening the Maw. Completing each of the chapter 2 quests will unlock features in Korthia. The 6th quest, Opening to Oribos, will unlock a portal to Korthia on the top floor of Oribos so you will have an easy way to get back in the future.

Gaining Reputation with Death's Advance

Death's Advance reputation is unlocked after completing Chapter 2 of the Chains of Domination Covenant Campaign, Maw Walkers. The final two quests of the chapter, Surveying Secrets and In Need of Assistance, will unlock the faction, as well as daily quests in Korthia. Other activities related to Death's Advance, such as Covenant Assaults, are also unlocked once the chapter is completed.

Korthia Activities

The main source of Death's Advance reputation is via Korthia activities — completing Korthia dailies and the Korthia weekly quest.

  • Daily quests: Completing Daily quests in Korthia grants 125 reputation. Every day, 3-5 World Quests will be available at Keeper's Respite. Sometimes, the dailies will reward reputation tokens with Death's Advance, granting another 175 reputation on completion.
  • Korthia weekly quest: Shaping Fate requires you to complete activities within the Maw and Korthia, and grants 750 reputation with Death's Advance.
  • Rift dimension: If you have access to the Rift dimension via a Repaired Riftkey (bought from The Archivists' Codex faction at Tier 4), rare mobs within the Rift have a chance to drop Stolen Korthian Supplies. This gives the weekly quest Stolen Korthian Supplies, which grants 200 reputation with Death's Advance.

The Maw Activities

Some of the activities in the Maw also grant reputation with Death's Advance.

  • Covenant Assaults: The bi-weekly Covenant Assaults at the Maw grant 350 reputation each with Death's Advance, for a total of 700 reputation/week with both assaults completed.
  • Desmotaeron weekly World Quest: Containing the Helsworn grants 200 reputation on completion. Sometimes the weekly will grant a rep token as a reward, granting another 1,000 reputation with Death's Advance.
  • Helsworn Battle Plans: Killing mobs at Desmotaeron has a chance to drop Helsworn Battle Plans. This gives the weekly quest Helsworn Battle Plans, which grants 200 reputation with Death's Advance.
  • Tormentors of Torghast: The Tormentors of Torghast event grants 100 reputation per completion. The first time you do the event in the week, you will receive another 200 reputation via Tormentor's Cache.

Sanctum of Domination Raid

Killing bosses and certain mobs in the Sanctum of Domination raid also grants reputation with Death's Advance. As of Patch 10.1.5, you can solo queue LFR to do this by yourself. Look for the NPC named Ta'elfar in the Enclave section of Oribos.

Reputation Gains — Buffs and Bonuses

As there are limited ways to earn reputation each day, it is essential to take advantage of reputation buffs whenever possible. Below are the most effective bonuses:

  • Contract: Death's Advance: You can purchase Contract: Death's Advance from the Auction House to gain extra reputation with this faction every time you complete a World Quest in the Shadowlands.
  • Darkmoon Faire: The Darkmoon Faire is in town starting on the first Sunday of every month. You can ride the rollercoaster or carousel to gain the WHEE! buff, which increases reputation gains by 10% for 60 minutes. You can also buy a Darkmoon Top Hat for 10 Darkmoon Prize Tickets to apply this buff without travelling to the Faire.
  • Human Racial Trait: Human characters have the Diplomacy racial, which increases all reputation gains by 10%.
  • Timewalking Events: While the Shadowlands Timewalking Event is active, you will gain the Sign of the Shadowlands buff, granting 50% bonus reputation from quests and creature kills. This is the most powerful reputation buff available and can dramatically shorten your grind. Plan your reputation farming around these events when possible.

Pro tip: Stack multiple buffs when possible. For example, a Human character during Shadowlands Timewalking with the Darkmoon Faire buff active will earn reputation at an accelerated rate, saving you days of grinding. Save your World Quest completions and turn-ins for these windows.

Extra Tips and Common Mistakes

  • Complete the Korthia campaign first: The campaign unlocks daily quests and other reputation sources. Prioritise completing it before focusing on daily activities.
  • Use a contract from day one: The Contract: Death's Advance provides passive reputation for every World Quest completed in the Shadowlands. It adds up significantly over time.
  • Don't skip Covenant Assaults: When Covenant Assaults are active in the Maw, prioritise completing them for the 350 reputation reward each.
  • Save world quests for buffs: If a reputation buff event is coming (Darkmoon Faire, Timewalking), save your world quest completions for that window to maximise gains.
  • Be patient with paragon caches: The Fierce Razorwing has an estimated 9% drop rate. According to player reports, it can take anywhere from 1 to 14+ caches. Don't get discouraged — keep farming reputation and opening caches.
  • Use the Rift dimension: If you have access to the Rift, prioritise farming Stolen Korthian Supplies for the weekly quest — it's an easy source of reputation.

Useful Addons for Fierce Razorwing Farming

Farming reputation to Exalted and beyond requires consistency and efficiency. The right addons can help you track your progress, locate world quests, and never miss a daily opportunity.

  • Pretty Reps: An addon that allows you to view account-wide reputations in the reputation window on any character. It seamlessly integrates into the Blizzard UI and shows your highest account-wide reputations. Features include favourites, unobtainable grouping, and renown-style paragon bars for paragon factions. Perfect for tracking your progress toward Exalted and seeing when you're close to a paragon cache.
  • World Quest Tracker: Shows all available world quests on a single panel, helping you quickly identify which Korthia world quests are up.
  • TomTom / Paste: Quickly set waypoints to world quest locations, rare mobs, and Duchess Mynx the vendor.
  • HandyNotes – Shadowlands (plugin): Displays rare spawn locations and points of interest on your map, helping you efficiently complete world quests.
  • SavedInstances: Tracks which characters have completed weekly quests, Covenant Assaults, and other activities. Useful if you're farming on multiple alts.
  • Leatrix Plus: Quality-of-life improvements like auto-repair, auto-sell junk, and faster interactions — small time savers that add up over a long reputation grind.

Pro tip: Use Pretty Reps to track your progress toward Exalted and see how close you are to your next paragon cache. Combine with World Quest Tracker to filter only Korthia world quests, and use SavedInstances to manage multiple characters efficiently.

The Fierce Razorwing is a rare and prestigious mount, but the grind to Exalted and the RNG of paragon caches can be time-consuming. For players who prefer a structured approach to acquiring this mount, information about professional assistance is available through our Fierce Razorwing service.
