Beastlord's Irontusk Mount Guide

Updated 06 Apr 2026 | Author: Invord | ~8 min

The Beastlord's Irontusk is one of the most striking Timewalking mounts tied to the Warlords of Draenor event. Visually, it stands out from most elekk mounts thanks to its heated tusks, heavy beastlord aesthetic, and aggressive Draenor-inspired design. It feels less like a simple recolor and more like a true war mount taken straight from the savage stables of Blackrock Foundry.

What makes the Beastlord's Irontusk especially attractive for collectors is its fully predictable acquisition path. There is no low drop chance, no weekly raid reset, and no need to wait for RNG luck. Once you collect enough Timewarped Badges, the mount is guaranteed. The real limitation is timing, because it can only be purchased during the Warlords of Draenor Timewalking rotation.

  • Added in patch: 8.1.5 "Tides of Vengeance"
  • Mount type: Ground
  • Source: Timewalking vendor
  • Cost: 5000 Timewarped Badges
  • Availability: Warlords of Draenor Timewalking only

How to get Beastlord's Irontusk

Beastlord's Irontusk

To get the Beastlord's Irontusk, you need to collect 5000 Timewarped Badges and buy the mount from the Warlords of Draenor Timewalking vendor in Ashran.

For Alliance, the mount is sold by Tempra in Stormshield. For Horde, it is sold by Kronnus in Warspear.

Farming Timewarped Badges can still take a noticeable amount of dungeon grinding, especially if you start from zero and only play during one event window. If you want a faster and cleaner route, our Beastlord's Irontusk service helps you prepare the currency and secure the mount without wasting time on long queues and repeated runs.

Getting to Ashran

To purchase the mount, you first need to reach Ashran. The fastest and most convenient way is by using your faction’s portal room in Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

For Alliance, the portal to Ashran is located on the left side of the main portal room, before the portal to Valdrakken. For Horde, the route is slightly less obvious: before entering the main portal chamber, you need to take the side entrance leading into the secondary portal room, where the Draenor portal is located.

Once you use the portal, you will arrive in your faction hub inside Ashran: Stormshield for Alliance players or Warspear for Horde.

The Timewalking vendors are not hidden, but they are positioned slightly outside the most central hub area, so if you have not visited them before, it is easy to run past them. Tempra is found in the southern section of Stormshield in front of the inn, while Kronnus is located in the western part of Warspear near the vendors and utility NPCs.

Timewarped Badges farm

Timewarped Badges are earned during Timewalking events through scaled dungeons, selected raid activities, and a few event-specific quests. Since Beastlord's Irontusk costs a full 5000 badges, understanding where the biggest chunks of currency come from is the key to getting the mount efficiently instead of slowly piecing it together over many rotations.

The most repeatable method is running Timewalking dungeons through the Group Finder. Every boss gives badges, the final boss gives more, and dungeon completion itself also rewards an extra chunk. Because there is no weekly cap on raw dungeon farming, this is the foundation of any serious badge grind.

  • Dungeon bosses: 20 badges per boss
  • Final boss: 25 badges
  • Dungeon completion: 10 badges

The 6 dungeons available in Warlords of Draenor Timewalking are as follows, with how many Timewarped Badges you'll get per completion:

  • Auchindoun - 75 badges
  • Bloodmaul Slag Mines - 75 badges
  • The Everbloom - 85 badges
  • Grimrail Depot - 65 badges
  • Shadowmoon Burial Grounds - 75 badges
  • Skyreach - 75 badges

Your first completed Timewalking dungeon during an event also rewards a quest item, such as Shimmering Timewarped Crystal, which can be turned in for a much larger one-time reward. That first hand-in is always worth prioritizing, especially if you are building toward one of the expensive vendor mounts.

In addition to dungeons, some Timewalking rotations also feature Timewalking raids. These raids usually have an accompanying quest, and completing it can give a major badge payout. The most commonly referenced examples are:

  • Black Temple (The Burning Crusade)
  • Ulduar (Wrath of the Lich King)
  • Firelands (Cataclysm)

Each raid comes with a related quest such as Disturbance Detected: Black Temple, which rewards a large amount of badges on completion. The first completion is the most important, because it provides the biggest payout and significantly accelerates your progress toward expensive purchases like Beastlord's Irontusk.

The Disturbance Detected quest generally requires you to defeat the final boss of the corresponding raid. Because of that, many players use the Group Finder to search specifically for skip groups or final-boss-only groups instead of doing the entire raid from start to finish.

Group finder

Like Timewalking dungeons, Timewalking raids also reward a quest item on completion that can be turned in for a large bonus of badges after the final boss dies. To receive this item, your character usually needs to meet the level requirement for the event, so check that before planning an alt-based farming route.

After the first quest completion during the active event, repeat turn-ins on additional characters remain useful, but they are less efficient than the initial reward. Because of that, the most effective strategy is to combine your first-time quest hand-ins with repeated dungeon farming rather than relying only on smaller repeat rewards.

On top of the badge income, some Timewalking quest chests can also contain rare expansion-themed bonus rewards. Even if your goal is only the Beastlord's Irontusk, these side rewards make the event more valuable overall and help justify farming more badges than you strictly need.

Tip: Queueing as a tank or healer dramatically lowers wait times. For this mount, faster queues usually matter more than slightly faster boss kills, because the badge grind is mostly about how many runs you can finish during the event window.

Best Farming Strategy for Beastlord's Irontusk

If you are targeting Beastlord's Irontusk specifically, the ideal approach is not to rely on a single source of badges. Instead, combine all the highest-value activities first, then fill the remaining gap with dungeon farming.

  • Complete your first Timewalking dungeon for the bonus quest item reward
  • Finish the weekly Timewalking quest during the active event
  • Do any available raid quest for the large one-time badge payout
  • Use alts for bonus quest rewards if you want to speed up the total gain
  • Spam dungeons afterward to close the remaining badge gap

For players who already have a badge reserve from previous events, this mount can be an instant pickup the moment Warlords of Draenor Timewalking starts. For everyone else, the event becomes much easier if you enter it with at least some badges saved in advance, since the final 5000 can otherwise feel surprisingly large when you farm from zero.

Extra Tips for Farming Beastlord's Irontusk

Because this mount is purchased rather than dropped, the grind is much more predictable than most mount farms. That also means efficiency matters more than luck. The better you organize your event week, the faster this mount becomes a guaranteed pickup.

  • Save badges ahead of time: If you do Timewalking regularly, keeping a badge reserve makes vendor mounts much easier to buy on release or rotation
  • Use multiple characters: First-run quest rewards on alts can significantly increase your total badge income during one event cycle
  • Prioritize low queue times: Badge-per-hour is usually better on a fast tank or healer alt than on a high-DPS character with long queues
  • Buy during the active week: Even if you already have 5000 badges, the mount cannot be purchased outside Warlords of Draenor Timewalking

Another useful detail is that Beastlord's Irontusk is part of the Warlords-themed vendor lineup, so many collectors end up targeting more than one reward in the same event. If you also want other Draenor Timewalking items, it may be worth planning for a much larger badge total rather than stopping exactly at 5000.

Useful Add-ons for Beastlord's Irontusk

Since this mount revolves around event efficiency, badge tracking, vendor navigation, and finding quick groups, a few lightweight addons can make the process noticeably smoother.

  • Premade Groups Filter: Makes it easier to search for Timewalking raid groups, skip runs, and faster listings in Group Finder
  • TomTom: Helpful for quickly reaching Tempra or Kronnus in Ashran with waypoint support
  • Leatrix Maps: Improves world map readability and general navigation while moving between portals, hubs, and vendors
  • SavedInstances: Excellent for tracking weekly Timewalking progress, alt usage, and event-related opportunities across your roster

For collectors farming currency across several characters, SavedInstances is especially useful because it helps you keep track of which characters have already done their high-value event activities and which ones still have badge-efficient rewards available.
