Quantum Courser Mount Guide

Updated 02 Feb 2026 | Author: Invord | ~5 min

The Reins of the Quantum Courser is one of the most unique and exciting mount tokens ever introduced in World of Warcraft. Rather than being a mount in itself, this item is consumed upon use and teaches you a random mount from past dungeon/raid drops — effectively acting as a mount roulette for legacy collectible mounts.

The Quantum Courser item is an extremely rare drop from the final boss of the mega-dungeon Dawn of the Infinite, and its effect perfectly reflects the theme of time and legacy content in Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5. Since it teaches a mount upon use, it’s extremely popular among collectors who want a shot at rare, old-school mounts without farming dozens of legacy bosses.

  • Added in patch: 10.1.5 "Fractures in Time"
  • Type: Random mount token (consumable)
  • Source: Chrono-Lord Deios (Dawn of the Infinite)
  • Requirements: Max level character
  • Repeat attempts: Weekly (per character)

How to Get Reins of the Quantum Courser

Quantum Courser

The Reins of the Quantum Courser is obtained as a very rare drop from the final boss Chrono-Lord Deios in the Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon. Most reports indicate this drop is only available on Mythic difficulty, and attempting the dungeon repeatedly increases your chances over time.

Once you loot the Reins of the Quantum Courser, using the item will consume it and grant you one random mount from a curated legacy pool — often old dungeon or raid mounts that were originally unobtainable or have low drop rates.

Want to skip the grind and secure Reins of the Quantum Courser through coordinated Mythic Dawn of the Infinite runs? Our team can reliably push multiple clears and maximize your chances at this rare mount token — schedule your service today and let us handle the farming for you.

How to Get to Dawn of the Infinite

The entrance to Dawn of the Infinite is located on the Dragon Isles , specifically in the zone of Thaldraszus .

To reach the Dragon Isles, use the portal located in your faction’s capital city portal room. Once you arrive on the isles, fly to Thaldraszus and head toward the southern part of the zone.

The dungeon entrance is located at:

Once inside, you can access both wings of the mega-dungeon. The final boss, Chrono-Lord Deios, is located at the end of the instance and is the source of the Reins of the Quantum Courser .

Mounts That Can Drop from the Quantum Courser

The Quantum Courser does not directly teach a set single mount. Instead, it randomly teaches you one mount from a pool of rare dungeon/raid mounts from past expansions. Below is the list of mounts currently confirmed or strongly reported from data sources and community findings:

Be aware: once the mount is learned from the Quantum Courser, the item vanishes. The result is completely random, and you may get a mount you already own (which will simply not be added again).

These mounts come from classic, Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Mists of Pandaria, and later expansions — most originally tied to rare dungeon drops or long-standing collector goals.

Why Multiple Characters Matter

The biggest limitation when farming Reins of the Quantum Courser is the weekly lockout of Dawn of the Infinite . Each character can only loot the final boss once per week, which means relying on a single main character can turn this farm into a very long-term grind.

This is where multiple characters (alts) become extremely valuable. Every additional level-cap character gives you another independent chance at the Quantum Courser each week, effectively multiplying your total drop attempts without increasing the time spent per run.

  • 1 character: 1 chance per week
  • 5 characters: 5 chances per week
  • 10 characters: 10 chances per week

For mount collectors, this strategy dramatically shortens the expected farming timeline. Players with a solid roster of geared alts often secure rare dungeon mounts in a fraction of the time compared to single-character farming.

Don’t have enough leveled alts to maximize your weekly attempts? Our Power Leveling service helps you quickly prepare additional characters for Mythic runs, giving you more chances each week to secure Reins of the Quantum Courser without months of waiting.

Useful Addons / Tools

These tools help with routing, boss mechanics, and tracking your runs:

  • Details! Damage Meter — track boss kills and efficiency.
  • Mythic Dungeon Tools — plan dungeon routes and pulls for Dawn of the Infinite.
  • Rarity — track rare items and mounts obtained across characters.
  • SavedInstances — track lockouts and timers for Mythic runs.

Extra Mount Info

The Quantum Courser item occupies a unique niche: it blends old content with modern mechanics by letting you obtain legacy dungeon mounts through current expansion content. Because of its randomized nature, it can sometimes reward exceptionally rare or sought-after mounts without needing to farm the original sources.

Keep in mind that if a mount has been removed from the game entirely, it may not be available through this item. Most confirmed drops are mounts you can still obtain through some method in the current game, even if rare.
