In this guide, we'll plunge into Azeroth’s latest challenges and reveal the optimal path to power‑up your character. Whether you’re freshly hitting the endgame or clawing your way back into the grind, next‑level gearing awaits. But this isn’t just a list — you’ll get a complete step‑by‑step gearing roadmap that prioritizes efficiency and rewards. You’ll learn why Bountiful Delves and world‑event caches are prime starting points, how the Great Vault can work for you, and when to funnel your resources into Mythic+ and raid progression for max impact . Expect bonus tips on Harbinger Crests, Valorstones, and time‑saving strategies to accelerate your upgrade pace. Ready to gear up fast, hit BiS thresholds, and conquer Season 3 content? Let’s dive in.

Gearing Changes in Patch 11.2 / Season 3

With Season 3 introducing higher item-level gear from +10 keystones right from the start, Runed Crests will quickly become obsolete — gone by the second week for dedicated Mythic+ runners, and by the third week for everyone else. Thanks to crafted gear, new legendary Cloak, and Delve belts, you'll typically have no more than 12 slots needing upgrades in those initial weeks, conveniently matching exactly how many upgrades you can earn.

Gearing this season is straightforward and streamlined; just ensure you use your Gilded Crests wisely, and you’ll have no issues reaching your goals.

However, keep in mind that crafting a weapon first might not be the best move for certain classes, especially if you're pushing Mythic raids early. The initial three bosses in the raid are stacked with weapon options: the first boss drops an Agility polearm, a Strength mace, and an Intellect mace; the second boss provides an Agility dagger, bow, and shield; and the third boss offers an Agility fist weapon along with the cantrip staff. Depending on your guild's progress pace, waiting to see these drops before crafting might pay off. Always double-check with your class Discord community to pinpoint your optimal crafting strategy!

Finally, there are three minor but impactful changes to item levels. Hero and Myth track items are again capped at six upgrades. Rare items no longer drop fully upgraded, removing the previous Crest-saving advantage. Also, raid loot now kicks off at 2/6 upgrade levels starting with the first boss.

Casters and healers, gearing this season is nearly effortless for you! Of your 15 slots, you only hand‑pick one armor piece, your neck, two rings, and a single trinket. Four slots auto‑lock as tier, two are crafted, plus the new boots and artifact cloak. The real hype is the Raid’s weapon‑and‑trinket set bonus: choose a staff, dagger, or 1‑hand sword — each with beefy heal/DPS procs — then pair it with an intellect trinket that turbo‑charges those effects. Barring wild tuning swings, the combo will be BIS for every caster and healer out there.

New Artifact Cloak

Artifact Cloak 11.2

Patch 11.2 introduces a game-changing new artifact Cloak with a unique proc that's bound to become a centerpiece of your gearing strategy. Much like previous time-gated gear, this Cloak's item level steadily increases each week, rewarding your continued progression and investment throughout the season. But the real excitement comes from its versatility — this Cloak isn’t locked into one playstyle or build. Tailors can craft special enhancements allowing you to freely choose its secondary stats, tailoring it precisely to your character's strengths.

Even better, additional items amplify the cloak’s potential dramatically. A special ring pairs directly with your cloak, granting an impressive 50% Cosmic damage reduction up to a defined absorb threshold, significantly boosting your defensive capabilities. Meanwhile, a powerful set of boots ramps up the cloak’s proc frequency, elevating it from 2 hasted procs per minute to 3 (further amplifying your performance).

These highly sought-after boots are available for all four armor types and drop exclusively from the optional Soul Hunters boss, making them a priority for practically every serious raider this season. If you’re gearing for endgame PvE, you’ll definitely want to secure these complementary pieces to unlock your cloak's full potential.

Infinite Augment Runes

Infinite Augment Runes

Remember those countless hours spent hovering around planting seeds and grinding centaur reputation back in Dragonflight 10.2? Whether nostalgia or nightmares come to mind, 11.2 has some exciting news: infinite augment runes are making their grand entrance — and you've got two distinct paths to claim them. The patient method involves leveling up your new raid reputation to Renown 9, which should take roughly eight weeks. Reaching this milestone unlocks the optional Soul Hunters boss, which generously drops three guaranteed augment runes per kill, persisting through death, plus a chance at an additional three runes.

But let's be real — most of you reading this guide are probably looking for the quicker, more intense route. For the dedicated players, there's an alternative: relentlessly farm the K'aresh Trust faction in the open world until you hit Renown 18. Once achieved, you can directly purchase the standard endless augment rune for a steep but worthwhile 100,000 Gold.

By the way, we can help with Gold.

Patch 11.2 Gearing Roadmap

Patch 11.2 crams gearing with curveballs — Gilded and Runed Crest tiers, reforged tier sets, artifact‑cloak upgrade chains, Delve map keys, Valorstones caps, raid‑bound weapon‑trinket synergies — yet hitting BiS still follows a clear sequence that can and should be utilized.

Follow the roadmap below and each reset becomes a checkpoint, turning Sparks, keys, and Vault picks into raw item‑level jumps. Nail every step and you’ll parade in max gear while rivals still google the new currencies.

How To Prepare For 11.2

In 11.1.7 you can reforge your embellished cloak before the patch hits — once 11.2 goes live, you’ll lose the option to craft it at 681 item level, and every future upgrade will cost extra Crests.

For the truly hardcore min‑maxer, the cheekiest play is rolling a fresh alt of the same class after hitting high Renown on your main. One‑time reputation rewards (Valorstones, Crests, and the like) are account‑wide but can be earned again on a new character and don’t count toward the weekly cap. Park that alt until the raid fully unlocks, then sweep up every quest reward for a second surge of resources.

That’s it for the pre‑patch grind — there isn’t much left to do before August 5. One critical note, though: stash every Restored Coffer Key, Spark, and Crest until the guide tells you to use them. Burning these resources early can seriously slow your gearing momentum later on.

Week 1

Season 3 PvE Gearing Guide TWW

Week 1 is the calm before the seasonal storm: on August 5th the 11.2 patch drops, but Raid and Mythic+ remain locked for another reset, giving you a clean runway to get your house in order. This is the week for groundwork — clearing the new story arc, unlocking vendors and flight paths, farming the starter currencies, and banking your first Spark. Nail these chores now, and you’ll hit the Season 3 launch next Tuesday already teed up for rapid‑fire upgrades instead of scrambling to catch up.

Kick off the week by visiting the Darkmoon Faire for its sweet reputation buff, then blitz through the new questline to secure your legendary cloak — grabbing the follow‑up Delve quest immediately so you can bump that cloak to ilvl 697. If the crafting‑spark intro quest is already live, complete it for the free Spark but stash it in your bank for later; do not use the spark now.

Use the checklist below to be sure you complete every essential task during the first week of patch 11.2:

  • Grab the weekly quests for a quick haul of 4 Restored Coffer Keys.
  • Down the World Boss for a chance at a 688 ilvl drop, especially its haste‑heavy ring.
  • Delves reset to Rank 3 — push them back to Rank 8, run eight Rank 8 clears for Hero‑track loot, and farm extra Undercoins for a Shrieking Quartz so next week’s reset guarantees a map and another Hero piece.
  • Complete each Mythic 0 dungeon — Ara‑Kara, Priory of the Sacred Flame, Eco‑Dome Al’dani, Halls of Atonement, The Dawnbreaker, and Operation: Floodgate — for 681 ilvl gear you can lift to 690 with Carved Crests (ideal for early trinkets).
  • Run any two of those dungeons again on Mythic 0 (loot‑locked) to fill every Great Vault slot for the best possible rewards.

ONLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE VERY TRYHARD. With the Darkmoon Faire buff rolling, sprint through every rep source in K’aresh: finish every main, side, and world quest; crack open all one‑time treasures and lore tomes; knock out the weekly dungeon quest and pick the K’aresh Trust token; then loop every rare that drops reputation. Chain all of this now and you’ll vault to Renown 18 in record time, unlocking the endless augment rune even before the season starts.

Or skip the whole K’aresh Trust Renown grinding entirely with our help.

Finish the week sitting on a full 2,000 Valorstones, and resist using any single‑use Valorstones consumables. Feel free to pump Weathered or Carved Crests into upgrades, but stash every Runed Crest you earn — anything you boost with those will be outclassed after the next reset anyway.

Week 2 (Important)

Season 3 PvE Gearing Guide TWW

Week 2 is your first “all‑systems‑go” moment: on August 12th the Raid opens wide, Mythic+ starts dropping real power, and the Great Vault finally pays out. This is the week to log extra hours, funnel every Crest, and knock out the hardest content you can handle.

Follow the checklist below to squeeze maximum item level from every boss, key, and world event unlocked on August 12th:

  • Open the Great Vault and follow the latest pick advice before claiming your gear reward.
  • Grab the cloak‑upgrade quest and finish it while knocking out weekly content.
  • Farm +10 keys for 701 loot, Crests, and Vault slots; if +10s feel rough, spam +6s for hero‑track gear.
  • Watch for Tazavesh mythic hard mode; once active, each boss should drop 701 gear tuned like a +10.
  • Spend 60 Gilded Crests and your first Spark to craft a 720 ilvl item (always check whether it's truly BiS on your spec beforehand).
  • Clear Normal, Heroic, and as much of Mythic raid as you can.

You can finally invest those Restored Coffer Keys. Buy a Shrieking Quartz, lock in a guaranteed map, then dive a Tier 8 Delve for a Hero track upgrade. Should your class rely on a BiS trinket inside Delves, push eight Tier 8 runs and spend every Restored Coffer Key to stuff the Vault with choices again. If your specialization doesn’t chase those outrageous Delve trinkets, still complete the Quartz map within one Tier 8 Delve, but you may safely skip entirely re‑filling the Vault for next week as well.

From here, we’ll actively log every Crest and upgrade to squeeze out peak efficiency. To keep math clean, we’ll pretend each slot starts at 701. Opting to raise several pieces that sit under 701 item level will extend the Runed Crest timetable by a minimum of one extra week for total catch‑up certainty:

  • Upgrade 701 -> 704 in 6 slots. This will take 90 Runed Crests.
  • Boost a 710 item to 717; the jump costs 30 Gilded Crests. Lacking any Mythic‑track gear, feel free to bank those Crests until your Vault refreshes next week. If, however, you own a notoriously strong Hero‑track trinket (think end‑boss Heroic quality) then you might prefer lifting it from 704 to 710 now instead for a smaller but still meaningful power spike until bigger pieces arrive later in raid.

Total Crests spent so far: All your Weathered and Carved, 90/90 Runed, 90/90 Gilded.

Week 3

Season 3 PvE Gearing Guide TWW

Week 3 flips the season’s switch from setup to serious power gains. Your first Mythic Great Vault opens, free Enchanted Runed Crests arrive, and the world boss finally drops heroic-grade loot. The goal is to parlay these new rewards into immediate item-level spikes across every slot while setting yourself up for the Spark-fueled crafting loop that dominates later weeks.

Follow the checklist below to capitalize on everything unlocked this reset:

  • Open your Great Vault and claim an ilvl 707 Mythic‑track item.
  • Pick up the cloak‑upgrade quest and complete it during your weekly activities.
  • Kill the World boss for a shot at a 688 ilvl drop, including a haste‑heavy ring.
  • Run weekly +10 keys for Crests and Vault slots; eight +12s will cap most Gilded and Runed.
  • Spend your free Enchanted Runed Crest and second Spark to craft 704 ilvl embellished bracers (check class guides first).
  • If your spec relies on a Delve BiS trinket, clear eight Tier 8 Delves; otherwise skip.
  • Clear Normal, Heroic, and push as deep into Mythic raid as you can.

Finish your Week‑3 spending spree by making these targeted upgrades and tracking the crest bill as you go:

  • Upgrade every 701 ilvl piece to 704, exhausting your Runed Crests.
  • Push one 717 item to 723 for 30 Gilded Crests.
  • Push one 707 item to 720 for 60 Gilded Crests.
  • Total crests spent so far: all Weathered, Runed, and Carved, plus 180/180 Gilded Crests.

Week 4 and Further

Season 3 PvE Gearing Guide TWW

Week 4 is the tipping point where you set for a calculated power curve path for the rest of the season. The checklist below distills everything you need to start doing on the reset day and throughout the week going further on in the Season 3:

  • Unlock your Great Vault and grab a 707 ilvl Mythic track piece.
  • Pick up the cloak-upgrade quest and complete it alongside your weekly grind.
  • Run your +10 keys for Crests and to fill every Vault slot.
  • Craft one Spark item each week at 720 ilvl — efficient and no need to push past bracers.
  • If your spec’s BiS trinket is from Delves, smash eight Tier 8 runs.
  • Clear Heroic and push as deep into Mythic raid as you can.
  • Spend Gilded Crests on your highest-ilvl pieces first to dodge awkward replacements.

If you’d rather skip the gearing grind, our gearing squad is on call 24/7. We’ll farm the highest keys, Delves, and Mythic Raid clears for you, funnelling the exact BiS Trinkets and Weapons your spec craves. Reach out and log back in fully kitted for the rest of Season:
