Murder Row Mythic+ Route Guide

Updated 30 Nov -0001 | Author: Kir | ~13 min

The Murder Row dungeon was introduced to World of Warcraft with the launch of the Midnight expansion, thrusting players into the path of Silvermoon's most dangerous denizens — figures who had long lurked in the shadows, biding their time until the city was weak enough to seize. However, it wasn't until Midnight's second season that the dungeon crashed into the Mythic+ rotation, bringing with it a brutal 34-minute timer, the largest of all available Keystones. In the text below, we'll walk you through the best route to beat the clock in Murder Row, along with the key enemies you should fear and the abilities they bring to the table.

Murder Row Mythic+ Route Overview

Murder Row sends you sprinting through the revamped streets of Silvermoon City — though, of course, only through a specific slice of it. Beyond the four boss encounters, you'll find streets teeming with trash and hostiles. It's crucial to plan your route carefully to hit the required enemy forces percentage without bleeding too much time. Below, you'll find the current optimal route that will let you clear the dungeon even in the company of a PUG.

  1. In the first zone, you need to clear nearly every mob — the only ones you should skip are the 2x Row Hooligan to the left of the entrance.
  2. In the second zone, clear everything, including the second boss.
  3. In the third zone, stick to the center of the street. Do not aggro the packs along the edges. Your focus should be solely on the central packs, which include 2x Unleashed Imp, 1x Fel Invoker, 2x Wrathguard Flayer, 1x Shivan Punisher, 2x Wrathguard Flayer, 1x Corrupted Warlock, 8x Demon Fly, 2x Fel Invoker, and 1x Shivan Punisher.
  4. The next pack on your path is best avoided, but the pack with 2x Trained Felhunter and 1x Felmaster Lucsei will help you top off your percentage before the next boss fight.
  5. Immediately after the boss, deal with 6x Unleashed Imp, 2x Wrathguard Flayer, and 1x Defiled Golem, then switch to the pack of 5x Unleashed Imp, 2x Trained Felhunter, 1x Fel Invoker, and 2x Wrathguard Flayer.
  6. Without touching the packs on the right side of the street, make your way to 3x Trained Felhunter, 1x Corrupted Warlock, and 1x Shivan Punisher.
  7. All remaining trash before the final boss should be ignored, except for the pack with 2x Trained Felhunter, 2x Fel Invoker, and 1x Defiled Golem.
  8. Finally, all that's left is to kill the last boss, and the dungeon is done!

Frankly, this route works for the vast majority of situations you're likely to encounter throughout the season. But before we dive into the most dangerous enemies in Murder Row and their abilities, let's talk about the buffs the dungeon lets you grab from the very start.

Faceted Crystalline Fel Buffs

As soon as you step into the dungeon, you'll find several Faceted Crystalline Fel scattered throughout the first zone. Interacting with them allows your characters to pick them up. These items will come in handy for trading with several NPCs, each of whom will, in exchange, grant you a single-use item on your extra action button that temporarily buffs either your character or even your entire group in one way or another. Here's the list of vendors and their wares:

Keep in mind that you can use these items at any time — you don't have to burn them at the start of the dungeon.

Kystia Manaheart Trash and Notable Abilities

To gain access to Murder Row's first boss, you'll first need to track down 4 Snitches in the opening zone and interact with them. Beyond that, you'll be facing enemies with some truly danger abilities — so make sure you're ready for what's coming.

Trash Abilities
Row Hooligan Cutpurse lands on a random player — pop a defensive or cleanse the bleed when it appears.
Felonious Mage Interrupt or CC the Fel Missiles channel whenever possible. If your group has a purge, strip the Fel Crazed passive to make the mob significantly less dangerous.
Felwyrm Stay clear of the death explosion left behind by Fel Infused.
Bribed Guard Cannot be crowd controlled. Shield Bash hits the tank — monitor your stacks and use a defensive if they climb too high. Glaive Toss also targets the tank and cleaves nearby allies; if you're debuffed by Shield Bash, a defensive or bleed cleanse is strongly recommended.
Bribed Captain Cannot be crowd controlled. This mob buffs nearby enemies with Deep Corruption, so DPS should prioritize it immediately. Shield Bash hits the tank — watch your stacks and defensive as needed. Glaive Toss cleaves players near the tank; if Shield Bash is already on you, use a defensive or bleed cleanse.
Street Sneak Tanks should be wary of Heartstop Poison — use defensives or Poison dispels to keep the debuff from stacking out of control.
Seductive Sayaad Seduction channels into a random player — interrupt or CC it immediately.
Massive Felwyrm Cannot be crowd controlled. Healers need to prepare for the continuous group damage from Over-infused, which also leaves a large death AoE that everyone must avoid. Corroding Spittle debuffs a random player — use Magic dispels or defensives to manage it. Tanks should be ready to pick up the Felwyrms spawned by Summon Wyrms.

Kystia Manaheart Boss Tactics

Kystia is a two-target fight that punishes groups who tunnel on the wrong enemy. If your DPS ignores the mechanics, you won't survive the overlap. Here are some essential tips to keep this encounter from spiraling out of control.

  • Kystia's Felshield stacks make her nearly invulnerable to direct damage, so redirect all your damage into Nibbles instead. Once Nibbles drops to 20% health, it turns friendly and begins channeling Destabilized, granting your group a substantial damage amp. Healers need to anticipate the incoming group-wide burst during this phase, and DPS should bank their cooldowns for this window to maximize the value of the amplifier.
  • Be prepared with interrupts or CCs to handle the 5 Mirror Images the boss summons periodically. Letting these clones run free will quickly overwhelm your group with casts. Lock them down or burn them immediately.
  • Corroding Spittle applies to random players — cleanse it with a dispel as fast as possible. If you're stuck with the debuff during the Mirror Images phase, pop a personal defensive if you have one available.
  • Step out of the Fel Nova circle when it appears. Tanks should also keep Nibbles faced away from the group so the rotating Fel Spray frontal doesn't force unnecessary movement.
  • Chaos Barrage hits the tank and then bounces to nearby allies. Watch for this extra damage, especially when Mirror Images are active and your healer is already stretched thin.

Zaen Bladesorrow Trash and Notable Abilities

You won't encounter many enemies on your way from the first boss to the second. However, this stretch of the dungeon has a special event in store for you—one that also ticks away at your Keystone timer. You'll find all the details on it after the table of the zone's most dangerous creatures.

Trash Abilities
Warehouse Worker Sharp Nail hits a random player — treat it with defensives or bleed cleanses as needed.
Keen Taskmaster Back to Work! enrages nearby Warehouse Workers. Tanks should anticipate the extra melee damage and use soothes if available.

The Clock In Bar Event Tactics

Once Kystia falls, your group gains access to a disguise and can ascend the nearby spire — but progress comes with a catch. Before you can reach the second boss, you'll need to punch in at the bar and complete a short shift. The event kicks off when all 5 players speak with Selenar Sunshy.

From there, each player receives a random job. Fulfilling your assigned duty builds Satisfaction, and once your group accumulates enough to hit 5 stars, the event wraps up. Completing the shift also grants the Five Star Review buff, boosting damage and healing by 10% for 5 minutes — a bonus you definitely want to carry into the next stretch of the dungeon.

Here's what each role entails:

Role Objective
Server Retrieve either Wine, Steak, or Cheese from the bar and deliver it to seated patrons.
Entertainer Stand in the glowing music notes on the stage in the order they appear to soak them.
Cleaner Grab the nearby broom and sweep away puddles on the floor.
Bouncer Click on Rowdy Patrons to shove them out of the establishment.

On top of your primary task, Influential Reviewers will occasionally spawn and begin channeling Scathing Review into a random player. Anyone can stop the cast with an interrupt or CC, which also despawns the mob. This should be a top priority — letting a review finish will hurt your group's satisfaction and slow down the entire event.

Communication is the key here. Don't tunnel on your own job. Keep an eye out for Reviewers and call them out the second they appear. The faster you hit 5 stars, the sooner you'll be back on the clock with the buff in hand.

Zaen Bladesorrow Boss Tactics

Zaen is a no-frills brawl, but sloppy positioning will get you killed. Here's what to watch for:

  • Steer clear of the barrels created by Same-Day Delivery. If you're targeted by Fire Bomb, drag it into the Fel-Infused Freight to cleave it down and stop its group-wide damage.
  • When Murder in a Row goes out, every player needs to hide behind their own barrel. Sharing cover won't protect you — the Bleed from this ability will still land if more than one person is behind the same spot.
  • Healers should brace for Killing Spree, the AoE channel, especially if a Fel-Infused Freight is still alive and stacking damage on the group.
  • Tanks, save a defensive for Envenom, and use a Poison dispel if you have access to one to remove the debuff afterward.

Xathuux the Annihilator Trash and Notable Abilities

The approach to Xathuux is the most trash-heavy section of the dungeon, and several of these enemies are more dangerous than the boss himself. Here are the packs that demand your full attention.

Trash Abilities
Unleashed Imp Felfire Burst targets random players — use spare interrupts on this cast.
Shivan Punisher Immune to crowd control. Tanks beware of the extra physical damage from Punishing Might. DPS should focus this mob once it hits 50% health and gains Demonic Frenzy; healers need to be ready for the heavy pulsing damage that follows. Avoid the Whirlwind AoE around the mob.
Wrathguard Flayer Interrupt or soothe Fel Rage to remove it. Flay lands on a random player — use defensives or bleed cleanses as needed.
Fel Invoker Use your spare interrupts or crowd control abilities to stop the Health Funnel channel. Avoid the circles from Felfire Bombardment.
Demon Fly Watch out for the extra random target damage from Fel Dash.
Trained Felhunter Tanks beware of the Shadow Bite buff that empowers melee swings.
Corrupted Warlock Immune to crowd control. Curse of Doom debuffs a random player — dispel it or stack together to split the damage. If anyone dies with this curse, a Doomguard spawns. Drain Life targets a random player — use a defensive or combat drop if available. At 50% health, the mob gains a shield via Dark Pact.
Doomguard Immune to crowd control. Use spare interrupts on the random target under the Doom Bolt cast.
Felmaster Lucsei Immune to crowd control. Blade Dance stacks a DoT on the group — healers should be ready with defensives or raid cooldowns to survive. Tanks, point the Eye Beam frontal away from the party and step out of the effect.

Xathuux the Annihilator Boss Tactics

Xathuux is the third boss, and he hits like a truck. Here's what you need to prepare for:

  • Position the boss near the edge of the circular arena, facing him outward so Legion Strike doesn't clip your group.
  • If Axe Toss targets you, move next to the boss so the Legion Axe spawns in cleave range. All DPS should swap to it immediately — the longer it lives, the more AoE damage it deals.
  • Spread out loosely for Infernal Crush to avoid hitting allies, and pop a defensive if you can, since it overlaps with the heavy hit from Demonic Rage.
  • During Demonic Rage, tanks must slowly kite Xathuux near the edge of the room as puddles appear. Try to use less than half the arena per cast so you don't run out of space. DPS should save cooldowns to take advantage of the damage amp this ability provides.

Lithiel Cinderfury Trash and Notable Abilities

The path to the final boss is short, but the lone new enemy there is a serious threat.

Trash Abilities
Defiled Golem Immune to crowd control. Healers need to be ready for the heavy channeled damage from Defiled Slam. Fel Beam fires lines toward every player that leave puddles behind — move out of them quickly.

Lithiel Cinderfury Boss Tactics

Lithiel is the final obstacle between you and your Mythic+ loot. Here's how to handle her:

  • Maintain an interrupt rotation on the random target Chaos Bolt casts — this is not optional.
  • Tanks, keep the boss far away from the Infernal, which cannot be killed and fixates on you until the fight ends.
  • The boss also uses Summon Vilefiend — tanks should pick these up as soon as they appear. For Fingers of Gul'dan, spread out but overlap your circles, since each hit spawns a Wild Imp that spams Felfire Burst at random players. Use spare interrupts or CCs to keep them in check.
  • When the boss uses Demonic Gateway to teleport, wait for Malefic Wave to finish casting, then take the gateway once the other end is on the safe side of the wave. Tanks, make sure the Infernal isn't blocking either gate.
  • All adds must be cleaved down before Malefic Wave reaches them, or they'll gain Malefic Empowerment and become far more dangerous.
  • Healers should expect constant pulsing damage from Searing Fel Flame throughout the fight.

Murder Row Bloodlust Usage

Four bosses and several dozen dangerous underlings waiting for you inside Murder Row make for a real puzzle when it comes to distributing your major cooldowns. In most situations, the strongest moments to pop Bloodlust or Heroism in Murder Row are as follows:

  1. The first major pull of the dungeon, right as you engage the opening forces of Murder Row.
  2. The second boss and the trash in its room. If you're feeling confident, you can even use your cooldowns on the pack before the room, merging two trash pulls and the boss into one glorious burst window.
  3. The final boss.

Tailor these timings to your group's composition and comfort level, but this general setup will work well for most runs.

Good luck completing the seasonal dungeons, conqueror! And don't miss our Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Overview.
