Midnight Season 2 opens its Mythic+ rotation on August 18 with eight dungeons: five from Midnight and three returning from earlier expansions. Altar of Fangs is the new entry, while four launch dungeons reach keystones for the first time. Most of the pool needs fresh routing — only the returning trio carries old Mythic+ history.
The reward curve has equally important breakpoints. End-of-dungeon gear reaches Hero 3/6 at +10, Myth Mistcrests begin at +9, and the first Myth-track Great Vault reward comes from +10. The same season adds two rating mounts, a new high-key title, top-percentile achievements, portal unlocks, and a Warband-wide enhanced tier-set appearance at 2500 rating.
Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula'tek launches on August 11. Mythic+ Season 2 begins one week later on August 18, but dungeon gearing starts during the patch week: the seasonal rotation is available on Heroic and Mythic 0, and Great Vault credit starts counting toward Season 2 rewards.
| Reset | Dungeon Unlocks | Great Vault |
|---|---|---|
| Week of August 11 | Fresh eight-dungeon rotation on Heroic and Mythic 0. Mythic 0 has a weekly lockout and drops item level 292 gear. | Credit toward Season 2 rewards begins. |
| Week of August 18 | Mythic+ Season 2 opens. Mythic 0 moves to a daily lockout and continues to drop item level 292 gear. | Season 2 gear becomes claimable. |
Altar of Fangs is available through Mythic 0 on August 11, then enters Mythic+ with the rest of the pool on August 18. Keys completed after the season opens contribute to the Dungeon row of the following week's Great Vault.
The Season 2 pool contains five Midnight dungeons and three legacy picks. Route planning starts with the timer: Murder Row gives the group 34 minutes, while Ruby Life Pools has the tightest clock at 28 minutes.
| Dungeon | Expansion | Season 2 Timer | Pool Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Altar of Fangs | Midnight | 30:00 | New in Patch 12.1 |
| Murder Row | Midnight | 34:00 | First Mythic+ season |
| Den of Nalorakk | Midnight | 32:00 | First Mythic+ season |
| The Blinding Vale | Midnight | 31:00 | First Mythic+ season |
| Voidscar Arena | Midnight | 30:00 | First Mythic+ season |
| Kings' Rest | Battle for Azeroth | 33:00 | Returning dungeon |
| Temple of Sethraliss | Battle for Azeroth | 33:00 | Returning dungeon |
| Ruby Life Pools | Dragonflight | 28:00 | Returning dungeon |
Season 2 preparation included a full creature review for every dungeon and individual boss reviews. Enemy health is slightly higher across the pool so priority damage and cooldown timing matter more, and cone or line attacks now use clearer precast boundaries. Enemy tooltips also show their contribution to the required Enemy Forces count.
| Dungeon | Important Season 2 Changes |
|---|---|
| Altar of Fangs | Rav'i and The Writhing Coil have less health, and Vine Grip pulls with half its earlier force. Infusion Totems are highlighted; the first Rattling Writhe no longer patrols. |
| Murder Row | Cantina tasks give more progress, failed tasks remove less, and job switching is gone. The caster count after Zaen Bladesorrow was reduced, with several trash casts removed or slowed. |
| Den of Nalorakk | Roleplay resolves faster and the winter gauntlet is easier to read. Eternal Winter no longer grants an absorb shield, Starvation Effigy has a five-second cast, and Nalorakk has less health. |
| The Blinding Vale | Boss add pressure and caster density were reduced, while Ziekket's Lightbloom interaction received a reliability fix. The timer was cut from 33 minutes to 31. |
| Voidscar Arena | The opening route now splits into a melee-heavy left side and caster-heavy right side, each with a stat-granting miniboss. Taz'Rah was rebuilt, and new lieutenants gate the Charonus encounter. |
| Kings' Rest | Roleplay is shorter, the Council of Tribes uses a fixed boss order, and Shadow of Zul was adjusted for modern key scaling. Dazar received a new ability package, and the required Enemy Forces count was reduced. |
| Temple of Sethraliss | Adderis and Aspix swap defensive shields at health thresholds. Merektha emerges after her adds die, the pre-Avatar gauntlet was rebuilt, and the final fight now asks the full group to help restore the Avatar. |
| Ruby Life Pools | The first section has fewer packs, Thunderhead and Flamegullet patrol on the ground, and Melidrussa's ability schedule was slowed. Later spawn and Enemy Forces changes create more route options; the timer is now 28 minutes. |
The Midnight affix ladder stays intact, but every breakpoint matters while learning the new rotation. Lower keys get route guidance and a softer death rule; +12 removes the weekly Bargain and replaces it with the full timer penalty from Xal'atath's Guile.
| Keystone Level | Affix Change |
|---|---|
| +2 | Lindormi's Guidance becomes active. Marked enemies deal 5% less damage and have 5% less health; player deaths do not remove time. |
| +5 | One rotating Xal'atath's Bargain becomes active. |
| +6 | Lindormi's Guidance is removed. Tanks can keep the route highlights through Lindormi's Glow, but enemies no longer receive the 5% reductions. |
| +7 | Tyrannical or Fortified becomes active, alternating each week. |
| +10 | Tyrannical and Fortified are both active. |
| +12 | The weekly Bargain is replaced by Xal'atath's Guile. Each player death removes 15 seconds until the final minute of the run. |
One of four Bargains rotates into +5 through +11 keys. Solving the mechanic buffs the group; failing it gives enemies more damage and damage reduction.
The Devour failure is the easy trap — an uncleared shield makes enemies deal more damage and take less damage. It does not heal them.
Midnight Season 2: Resilient Keystone 12 unlocks after timing all eight dungeons at +12. Once earned, a depleted key cannot fall below +12. Timing the full pool at higher levels raises that floor one level at a time, though Lindormi can still lower a key manually.
Season 2 raises endgame rewards by 46 item levels over Season 1 and replaces Dawncrests with Mistcrests. Keystone level controls three separate results: the item from the dungeon chest, the crest tier, and the item level offered by the Great Vault.
| Keystone | End-of-Dungeon Gear | Crest | Great Vault Gear |
|---|---|---|---|
| +2 | 295, Champion 2/6 | Champion Mistcrest | 305, Hero 1/6 |
| +3 | 295, Champion 2/6 | Champion Mistcrest | 305, Hero 1/6 |
| +4 | 298, Champion 3/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 308, Hero 2/6 |
| +5 | 302, Champion 4/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 308, Hero 2/6 |
| +6 | 305, Hero 1/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 311, Hero 3/6 |
| +7 | 305, Hero 1/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 315, Hero 4/6 |
| +8 | 308, Hero 2/6 | Hero Mistcrest | 315, Hero 4/6 |
| +9 | 308, Hero 2/6 | Myth Mistcrest | 315, Hero 4/6 |
| +10 | 311, Hero 3/6 | Myth Mistcrest | 318, Myth 1/6 |
| +11 | 311, Hero 3/6 | Myth Mistcrest | 318, Myth 1/6 |
| +12 and higher | 311, Hero 3/6 | Myth Mistcrest | 318, Myth 1/6 |
The +9 breakpoint is easy to misread — it changes the crest reward to Myth Mistcrests, but the dungeon chest and Great Vault still give Hero-track gear. +10 is the main gearing target because it unlocks a Myth 1/6 Vault item at level 318 and caps standard end-of-dungeon gear at Hero 3/6, level 311.
The Dungeon row unlocks one, two, or three choices after 1, 4, or 8 completed dungeons. You still select one reward from the entire Vault. For Mythic+, the three item levels are set by the highest, fourth-highest, and eighth-highest keys completed during the week; run order does not matter.
A full set of three Myth-track choices therefore requires eight +10 or higher completions. One +10 is enough for the first Myth 1/6 option; the remaining slots follow the fourth- and eighth-highest runs.
Ascendant Venomstones enter the reward pool later in Season 2. Every +10 or higher Mythic+ dungeon awards one, and 10 Venomstones upgrade an eligible weapon, trinket, or necklace to the equivalent of Myth 8.
Only fully upgraded Hero gear, Myth gear, and maximum-quality crafted items at the matching item level can use the upgrade. Heroic and Mythic raid bosses, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion boxes are the other listed sources.
The separate reference page sorts the Season 2 dungeon drops by slot and source:
Midnight Mythic+ Loot TableThe rating ladder starts with a timed key and continues through two mount milestones, Keystone Myth, and the regional leaderboard achievements. Keystone Master at 2000 rating awards Breath of Blight; Keystone Legend at 3000 awards Breath of Ruin.
| Achievement | Requirement | Reward or Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Midnight Keystone Explorer: Season 2 | Time any Season 2 Mythic+ dungeon. | Starts the Season 2 achievement ladder |
| Midnight Keystone Conqueror: Season 2 | Reach 1500 rating. | Title: the Venomous |
| Midnight Keystone Master: Season 2 | Reach 2000 rating. | Breath of Blight mount |
| Midnight Keystone Hero: Season 2 | Reach 2500 rating. | Satisfies the Mythic+ criterion for Sssensational! |
| Midnight Keystone Legend: Season 2 | Reach 3000 rating. | Breath of Ruin mount |
| Venomous Champion: Midnight Season 2 | Finish the season in the regional top 1%. | Seasonal Feat of Strength |
| Venomous Hero: Midnight Season 2 | Finish the season in the regional top 0.1%. | Title: the Venomous Hero |
The separate Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2 achievement awards the title the Venomous Contender. Its Season 2 rating threshold has not been announced yet. Venomous Champion is confirmed for the regional top 1%, but no separate reward has been attached to it. That is why neither entry borrows Season 1's 3400-rating threshold or Timelost Saddle.
The two rating mounts share the skyfang wind serpent model with different venom-themed color schemes. Open either preview below to compare all four model angles.
Midnight Season 2: Serpent Scion awards a Crystallized Venomblight Manaflux for the Catalyst in Silvermoon. Complete any one requirement on the character:
Sssensational! is the second cross-content reward. Complete Mythic Ula'tek, earn Midnight Keystone Hero at 2500 rating, or reach Elite in rated PvP to receive the Insidious Venomstone. Using it unlocks additional visual effects for certain Season 2 class-set appearances across the Warband.
Timing a dungeon at +10 or higher unlocks its teleport. Each portal has a separate achievement, so one completed +10 does not cover the rest of the rotation.
Mythic+ Season 2 starts on August 18, one week after Patch 12.1 launches on August 11. The seasonal dungeon pool is available on Heroic and Mythic 0 during the first week.
Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Kings' Rest, Temple of Sethraliss, and Ruby Life Pools.
A completed +10 or higher unlocks item level 318 Myth 1/6 gear for the matching Great Vault choice. +9 awards Myth Mistcrests but still gives Hero-track gear in the Vault.
Complete 8 dungeons to unlock all three choices. Their item levels come from the highest, fourth-highest, and eighth-highest keys completed during the week.
Breath of Blight requires 2000 Mythic+ rating through Keystone Master. Breath of Ruin requires 3000 rating through Keystone Legend.
