Midnight Season 2 gives Delves their biggest rebuild since the expansion launched: three new instances on the Coiled Isle, a serpent Nemesis built around a memory test, a Delver's Journey track that shares almost nothing with Season 1, and a Valeera rework that hands her poison slot over to you. The patch and the season arrive a week apart, and that gap decides what you can actually do on day one.
Below is the full season: every Delve and where its entrance sits, the tier ladder and what each rung unlocks, all ten Journey ranks with their rewards, Valeera's new poisons and Curios with their real numbers, and the mounts and titles worth planning a schedule around. The prestige chase ends on the Fabled Vanquisher of Azta'rec title, and for the first time that title is not a race against a headcount.
Two dates matter, not one. Patch 12.1: The Curse of Ula'tek goes live on August 11, 2026, and Midnight Season 2 starts a week later on August 18, one day behind that on European realms. The three new Delves open on patch day, but they open bare.
Everything that makes a Delve season a season waits for the second date:
Patch week is not dead time, though. The Delves themselves run, the story variants are live, and anything you clear feeds the tier achievements you will want finished before the tiers above 7 open. Treat it as reconnaissance with loot attached.
Season 2 runs on thirteen Delves: the ten Midnight Delves that carried Season 1, plus the three new instances on the Coiled Isle. Nothing rotates out. The old roster keeps its layouts and bosses and gains the venom-themed variants, so the routes you already know still pay.

| The Ring of Glory | The Coiled Isle | New in Patch 12.1 |
| Gnarldor Isle | The Coiled Isle | New in Patch 12.1 |
| Venomfall Deeps | The Coiled Isle | New in Patch 12.1, Nemesis Delve |
All three newcomers sit on the Coiled Isle, the venom-soaked island east of Zul'Aman that the patch uncovers. Two are ordinary Delves; the third is where the season's Nemesis waits.
The Ring of Glory builds its run around an Amani arena, and its entrance sits at the north end of the isle. Gnarldor Isle covers the overgrown coast and holds a Sturdy Chest worth going out of your way for. Venomfall Deeps drops into the poisoned waterways beneath the island, and its Delve icon sits near the top of the Serpent's Tail.
Give all three a slow first clear. Read the pull sizes, find the spot where the layout baits an overcommit, and learn the one-shot mechanics while the tier number is still small — that habit is worth more than any Curio once Tier 9 arrives.
Delves open at level 90, and gear never hard-blocks an entry. It only decides how the run feels. Walk in undergeared and every pull turns into a tax: slower kills, harsher punishment for mistakes, and a real chance the Delve breaks you before its boss gets the opportunity.
The tier ladder is a chain, and each rung is an achievement that explicitly opens the next one. Clear a tier with at least one life remaining and the following tier unlocks; die out of your lives and the clear does not count toward it.
| Achievement | Requirement | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Midnight Delves: Tier 4 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 4 Delve with lives remaining | Tier 5 |
| Midnight Delves: Tier 5 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 5 Delve with lives remaining | Tier 6 |
| Midnight Delves: Tier 6 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 6 Delve with lives remaining | Tier 7 |
| Midnight Delves: Tier 7 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 7 Delve with lives remaining | Tier 8, and Azta'rec on Tier ? |
| Midnight Delves: Tier 8 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 8 Delve with lives remaining | Tier 9 |
| Midnight Delves: Tier 9 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 9 Delve with lives remaining | Tier 10 |
| Midnight Delves: Tier 10 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 10 Delve with lives remaining | Tier 11, and Azta'rec on Tier ?? |
| Midnight Delves: Tier 11 (Season 2) | Clear a Tier 11 Delve with lives remaining | Title: High Explorer |
That chain is why the Tier 7 and Tier 10 clears carry more weight than the numbers suggest. They are the two gates to the Nemesis, and both difficulties of Azta'rec hang off them.
The hub does not move for Season 2. The Delver's Headquarters sits in Silvermoon City at /way #2393 52.4 78.2, and it holds everything administrative about the season.
Valeera Sanguinar stands here, and so does the Delver's Guide on her desk. The Guide tracks Journey progress, customizes the companion, and shows the current Bountiful rotation; the same panel lives in the Journeys tab of the Adventure Guide if you would rather not fly back. Vendors Naleidea Rivergleam and Telemancer Astrandis take Undercoin and Voidlight Marl, and Dip Stickshift deals in Memories.
Valeera also offers a short Season 2 intro questline once you reach max level. It is not required to reach the top tiers, but it introduces the season's vendors and the new Nemesis, and it unlocks three of her six poisons. Run it early.
Azta'rec replaces Nullaeus as the seasonal Nemesis, and he waits at the bottom of Venomfall Deeps. His lair opens in two stages: Tier ? after a clean Tier 7 clear, Tier ?? after a clean Tier 10 clear. The fight audits everything the easier runs let you get away with.
The main phase runs a fixed cast order, so the pressure is predictable: a poison frontal, a dispellable Shadow debuff that cuts your Shadow damage by 40%, a hard-priority interrupt, and venom waves that sweep the arena. Tanks also eat a Physical strike the other roles never see. Then, at 90%, 60% and 30% health, the fight stops being a rotation check.
Azta'rec moves to the centre, becomes almost immune, and splits the room into four quadrants, detonating them one at a time while an Echo of himself casts his abilities at you. You watch five safe quadrants appear in sequence. Then the same five detonate again with no telegraph at all, and you have to walk the route from memory.
The fight rewards preparation far more than gear does. Marker placement, one protected interrupt and a way to record the quadrant order are what carry the solo kill, and our dedicated guide walks the whole encounter step by step:
Azta'rec Solo Guide| Achievement | Requirement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| My Venomous Nemesis | Defeat Azta'rec in his lair during Season 2 | Apophic Patagia back attachment |
| Purging the Poison | Defeat him on Tier ?? during Season 2 | Title: the Poisonous |
| Let Me Solo Him: Azta'rec | Tier ?? kill with no other players in your party | Apophic Soul Crusher mount |
| Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Azta'rec | The same solo kill inside the season's first week | Title: Fabled Vanquisher of Azta'rec |
The Fabled rule changed, and it changed in players' favour. In Season 1 that Feat of Strength went to the first 4,000 players per region, a race most people did not know they had entered — the North American Hall of Fame filled within 14 hours of launch, and being minutes late was still late. Season 2 drops the headcount entirely. Solo Azta'rec at any point inside the opening week and the title is yours.
The deadline is still real, and week-one gear makes the Tier ?? solo a genuine check rather than a formality. A companion does not break the condition, though: the achievement looks at players in your party, so Valeera can heal, dispel and interrupt for you the whole way.
The Delver's Journey resets to zero and runs ten ranks again, but the Season 2 ladder is a different track, not a reskin. Progress comes from the Bountiful loop: clearing Bountiful Delves, opening Bountiful Coffers with Restored Coffer Keys, and clearing the Nemesis groups that upgrade the strongbox at the end of a run. Higher tiers pay more per clear.
| Rank | Reward |
|---|---|
| Rank 1 Boons and Blessings |
Boons start dropping from Mislaid Curiosities and Blessings from Heavy Trunks. Fortified Amani Awning decor unlocks at Telemancer Astrandis. |
| Rank 2 Gift of Pestilence |

A Shrine of Abundance can now manifest inside a Bountiful Delve. Effigy of Dundun toy unlocks. |

| Rank 5 An Ethereal and a Snake walk into a Delve |
Extra chance at Boons from Mislaid Curiosities, and from week 3 of the season Zah'ran appears at the end of Delves selling Champion gear. The Corroded Soul Crusher mount unlocks. |

| Rank 8 Warbound In Blood |
Champion Warbound equipment starts dropping from Tier 9 Delves and above. Ula'tek Ritual Stone decor unlocks. |
| Rank 9 From Champion to Hero |
Tier 11 Bountiful Coffers gain a chance at Hero equipment or Untainted Mana-Crystals for Zah'ran; Tiers 8, 9 and 10 pay smaller amounts of Mana-Crystals. |
| Rank 10 A Delver's Journey |
Title: Snake Eater. Coffer Key Shards earned from every source increase. |
Two ranks change how the rest of the season plays, so plan the route through them. Rank 4 is the gear rank, because a Gilded Stash four times a week is the only Delve source of Myth crests anywhere in the season. Rank 5 is the awkward one, because Zah'ran does not appear the moment you earn it — his stock arrives with week 3 regardless of how fast you climbed.
Finishing the whole track before the season closes awards Midnight: Journey's End (Season 2). Budget for it from week one. The track rewards steady weekly clears, and skipped weeks compound in a way that late catch-up rarely fixes.
Valeera Sanguinar stays on as the Midnight Delve companion, and Season 2 changes her in one structural way plus one incremental one. The structural change is poisons. In Season 1 her poison was welded to her role, so picking Tank meant taking Bloodcrypt Toxin whether it suited the run or not. Now the poison is a choice node in the same menu as her Curios, independent of the role you assign her.
Three poisons are available from the start, and they are the Season 1 role poisons cut loose from their roles:
Valeera's Season 2 intro questline adds three more to the pool:
Bursting Toad Toxin is the clean pick for trash-heavy routes because it is the only poison in the set that adds raw area damage. Frostheart Venom earns its slot when a Delve keeps forcing you to kite, and Phantasmal Spore Toxin turns a companion into a passive second interrupt, which matters more on high tiers than the numbers suggest.
Venom Infusion is the odd one, and worth reading twice before you slot it. It pays you for being hurt, which suits a durable spec that can sit at 60% health without panicking and actively fights a squishy one that treats any missing health as an emergency.
Nothing was removed. The Season 1 Curios keep dropping and keep competing for the same two slots, so an existing collection holds its value into the new season.
| Combat Curio | Effect |
|---|---|
| Sanctum's Edict | Blessings from combat and kills: 10 per Elite, 2 per normal enemy, each giving 1% damage and healing. At 30 the companion converts 60% of current health into an absorb that boosts the blessings further. |
| Mantle of Stars | A party member below 40% health gets an absorb worth 50% of maximum health; nearby enemies are knocked up and take 25% more damage for 12 sec. Every 1.5 min. |
| Nether Entropic Kris | Nether Entropy deals Void damage over 30 sec with a 25% chance per tick to spread to 2 nearby enemies, stacking to 40. Deaths spread it too. |
| Porcelain Blade Tip | Weakened enemies take 20% more critical strikes for 9 sec. |
| Holy Bounding Hand Grenade | A grenade for moderate Holy damage with a guaranteed 1.5 sec stun and a 50% chance to bounce onward. It bounces off party members safely. |
| Utility Curio | Effect |
|---|---|
| Ebon Crown of Subjugation | Opening a Mislaid Curiosity summons a Subjugated Burden worth 2% primary stat, up to 12 at once. Past 6 worshipers each one is worth more. |
| Overflowing Voidspire | After 25 sec of combat, the party and Valeera deal 18% more damage and healing for 35 sec, on a 35 sec cooldown. |
| Time Lost Edict | A sanctified area at a party member's feet for 12 sec: allies gain 20% movement speed, cooldown recharge rate and cast speed, enemies suffer the reverse. |
| Mandate of Sacred Death | After Tools of the Trade, party attacks gain an 8% chance to deal 2% of the target's maximum health as Holy damage per Mandate, once per target every 2 sec, with a small chance to execute non-boss enemies. |
| Motionless Nulltide | Standing still stacks Cosmic Momentum every 2 sec up to 20, each 3% movement speed. Jumping at 20 converts them into 2% Haste per stack for 30 sec and knocks up nearby enemies, once every 20 sec. |
The economy underneath them has not changed. One Combat slot, one Utility slot, four power levels per Curio, and an upgrade happens by looting a higher-level copy of one you already know. Higher tiers raise the odds of a high-level drop, which is the quiet argument for pushing tiers even when the gear stops mattering.
Start from what actually kills you, not from the biggest number on a tooltip.
Pair any of those with a poison chosen for the route rather than the role. That is the whole point of the change.
Her role still sets the ability list. She deals damage in every form, so the choice is about what she covers for you, not whether she contributes.
The gear loop keeps its Season 1 shape and moves up a season. Bountiful Coffers at the end of a Bountiful run, crests banded by tier, and a weekly Great Vault slot fed by Delve clears.
Gear is only one column of the payout. Delves also carry mounts, pets, toys, transmog, housing decor and gravestones, most of which ignore the seasonal reset entirely and stay collectable long after Season 2 closes. The full catalog, with every source and cost, sits in our dedicated rewards guide:
| Delve Tier | Crest Rewarded |
|---|---|
| Tier 4 | Adventurer Mistcrest |
| Tiers 5-6 | Veteran Mistcrest |
| Tiers 7-10 | Champion Mistcrest |
| Tier 11 | Hero Mistcrest |
Three mounts sit on Delve content this season, and they come from three completely different kinds of effort.
The season's cosmetic track runs through Telemancer Astrandis alongside the mounts: the Effigy of Dundun toy at Rank 3, and four pieces of housing decor spread across the ladder — Fortified Amani Awning, Zul'Aman Brazier Post, Amani Territorial Totem, and the Ula'tek Ritual Stone.
The tier ladder doubles as the achievement track, one per tier from 4 through 11, each unlocking the next as covered above. Tier 11 caps it with the High Explorer title, and Midnight: Journey's End (Season 2) closes the Journey. All of them sit in the Delves Feats of Strength category, which means they stop being earnable when the season ends.
Two Delve achievements ignore seasons entirely and are worth folding into the same runs. Glory of the Midnight Delver wants Delve Loremaster: Midnight, Midnight: Leave No Treasure Unfound and Curio Fanatic: Midnight finished alongside a Seasonal Nemesis kill, and it pays out the Giganto Manis mount. Your Azta'rec kill counts toward it.
Midnight: Leave No Treasure Unfound asks for every Sturdy Chest hidden across Midnight Delves and grants the Treasure Seeker title, so the Gnarldor Isle chest holding the Delver's Arcane Golem is a criterion and a mount in the same stop. Curio Fanatic: Midnight wants every Valeera Curio owned at rank 4, which the six new Season 2 additions reopen.
