Hidden throughout the chaotic streets of Stormwind and Orgrimmar during Horrific Visions, Odd Crystals are one of the event’s best-kept secrets. Ten of these mysterious shards are stashed in unexpected corners of each Vision, just waiting for keen-eyed adventurers to discover them. Track down as many as you can before you take on the final boss, then trade them in for a stash of bonus Corrupted Mementos. It’s a rewarding little side quest that turns every run into a treasure hunt — and gives you a leg up on your memento farming!
In every run of the Horrific Vision of Stormwind or Orgrimmar, you’ll find a total of 10 Odd Crystals hidden throughout the city. Each individual zone contains 2 Odd Crystals, and tracking them down can be more challenging than hunting for the standard Black Empire Chests (unless you already know the possible spawn points).
The good news is that Odd Crystals only appear in a limited set of locations within each Vision. Specifically, the Twisted Area features 3 possible Odd Crystal spawn points, while each Corrupted Area and Lost Area offers 4 potential spots apiece. This makes it a bit easier to plan your route once you’ve learned the locations.
To collect an Odd Crystal, simply click on it — there’s no physical item added to your inventory, but the game keeps a hidden count of how many you’ve found during the run. When you’re ready, you’ll be able to trade in your discoveries for extra Corrupted Mementos before facing the final boss:

Turning in your first Odd Crystal will net you only 20 Corrupted Mementos. But here’s the catch — the reward per crystal goes up with every additional Odd Crystal you hand in. That means the more Odd Crystals you manage to collect and turn in during a single run, the more valuable each one becomes. It’s a scaling bonus that makes going out of your way to find extra crystals well worth the effort!
When you’re ready to turn in your Odd Crystals in Orgrimmar, head to Zarhaal, who can be found behind the Auction House in the Twisted Zone (coordinates: 54, 71). Simply speak with Zarhaal and let him know how many Odd Crystals you’ve collected. After your conversation, he’ll teleport away and leave a chest for you, packed with Corrupted Mementos based on the number of crystals you turned in.
Important: Don’t forget to pick up the chest before you finish your run! Any Odd Crystals not handed in will be lost, and if you leave the chest behind, the Corrupted Mementos inside won’t be added to your total.
To turn in your Odd Crystals in Stormwind, look for Zarhaal inside a side building in the Twisted Zone (coordinates: 57.3, 47.9). When you’re ready, speak with Zarhaal and let him know how many Odd Crystals you’ve gathered. He’ll then disappear and leave behind a chest filled with Corrupted Mementos, based on the number of crystals you turned in.
Again, make sure to collect your chest before finishing your run — if you leave it behind or forget to turn in your crystals, you’ll miss out on those extra Corrupted Mementos!
