Frenzied Shredclaw Mount Guide

Updated 05 Mar 2026 | Author: Invord | ~10 min

The Frenzied Shredclaw is a brutal, battle-hardened predator infused with volatile void energy, introduced in Midnight. Unlike its calmer counterpart, this version radiates aggression — jagged armor plating, glowing void veins running beneath its scales, and a permanently enraged stance give it a distinctly PvP-oriented aesthetic. The mount feels less like a trophy and more like a war companion forged in the chaos of Slayer’s Rise.

This mount holds particular value for players who enjoy structured faction progression and competitive zone content. Earning it requires dedication, consistency, and efficient activity routing inside Voidstorm. While the reward is guaranteed and not tied to RNG, reaching the necessary reputation tier demands time investment and optimization — especially if you want to unlock it early in the expansion cycle. Frenzied Shredclaw stands as a visible mark of commitment to the Slayer’s Duellum faction and mastery of its high-risk, high-reward environment.

  • Added in patch: 12.0.0 "Midnight"
  • Type: Ground
  • Source: Vendor
  • Requirement: Exalted – Slayer’s Duellum
  • Repeat attempts: Unlimited

How to get Frenzied Shredclaw

Frenzied Shredclaw

To obtain Frenzied Shredclaw, you must reach Exalted reputation with the Slayer’s Duellum faction in Midnight. This faction is based in Slayer’s Rise, a PvP-driven sub-zone located within Voidstorm. Unlike RNG-based mounts, this one follows a structured progression system — you advance your reputation through zone activities until Exalted, after which the mount becomes available for purchase.

Once Exalted is reached, the mount can be bought from Thraxadar, the Slayer’s Duellum quartermaster. In addition to reputation, you must also collect 6000 Voidlight Marl, a zone currency earned through activities in Voidstorm such as world quests, rare kills, treasure looting, weekly objectives, and War Mode events. Most players naturally accumulate Marl while progressing reputation, especially if they actively participate in high-value objectives.

Reputation gains come from a combination of daily and weekly quests, supply drops, open-world PvP engagements, and special Slayer’s Rise objectives. Enabling War Mode significantly increases efficiency by unlocking additional events and bonuses, though it is not strictly mandatory. The grind is consistent rather than random — once both conditions are met, Frenzied Shredclaw is guaranteed and can be purchased immediately, making it a mount that rewards persistence and structured zone participation rather than luck.

Get to Voidstorm

Before you can begin farming reputation to obtain Frenzied Shredclaw, you must first unlock access to the Voidstorm zone. Voidstorm is not immediately available by default - it is tied to a short introductory quest chain that opens the area for exploration and activities.

To start this unlock, travel to Silvermoon City and speak with Magister Umbric. He offers the quest No Fear of the Dark, which serves as the entry point into Voidstorm-related content.

No Fear of the Dark

The initial stage of this questline introduces the Voidstorm concept and guides you through the first narrative steps. Once you complete this opening segment, access to the Voidstorm area becomes available, allowing you to freely enter the zone and interact with its environments, including all fishable waters.

  • Where to start: Magister Umbric in Silvermoon City
  • Required quest: No Fear of the Dark
  • Unlock condition: Completion of the first stage of the quest chain
  • Once unlocked: Voidstorm remains permanently accessible on that character

1. Weekly Quest (1000 Reputation)

Each week, you can complete a main quest in Slayer’s Rise that rewards 1000 reputation. This reward is limited to one character per week, so prioritize your main for this objective.

This is the single biggest fixed reputation source — never skip it.

2. World Quests in Voidstorm

Voidstorm regularly offers world quests that reward approximately 450 reputation each with Slayer’s Duellum.

These can be completed on multiple characters, making them one of the safest and most consistent farming methods.

Slayer’s Duellum

3. War Mode Quests (High Priority)

With War Mode enabled, additional PvP-themed quests become available inside Slayer’s Rise. These include:

  • Killing specific mobs
  • Defeating elite targets
  • Capturing objectives
  • Flag-based arena encounters

War Mode can be toggled directly in Slayer’s Rise without returning to capital cities. Completing these quests significantly accelerates your progress.

4. War Supply Crates (300 Reputation Each)

While in War Mode, War Supply Crates periodically spawn in Slayer’s Rise.

Each crate awards 300 reputation when looted. There is no strict cap — farming crates is one of the fastest ways to push reputation efficiently.

Important: Crates are only visible with War Mode enabled.

5. Void-Tainted Remains Turn-Ins

Throughout Voidstorm, you will find small treasure objects that drop Void-Tainted Remains.

When you collect 50 Remains, you can turn them in for 100 reputation.
/way 38.8 81.6 - Deminos Darktrance

This method has no strict cap and becomes extremely efficient during zone events like:

  • Void Scavenge events
  • Darkmoon Faire reputation bonus
  • Winds of Mysterious Fortune

During Void Scavenge events, treasures may drop up to 10 Void-Tainted Remains at once, dramatically improving farm speed.

It is important to understand that this turn-in is effectively unlimited. There is no weekly cap tied specifically to Void-Tainted Remains, meaning you can theoretically reach Exalted reputation by relying entirely on this method. However, doing so requires a very large number of Remains and can become time-consuming if you are not combining it with other zone activities.

This makes Void-Tainted Remains one of the most reliable fallback progression methods. Even if you miss weekly objectives, lose PvP engagements, or simply prefer a safer farming route, you can continue progressing reputation steadily through treasure collection alone. While slower than optimized War Mode routing, it guarantees forward movement at all times.

Another important advantage is that this method does not require War Mode to be enabled.

6. Mini Events & Escort Events

Slayer’s Rise regularly features rotating mini-events that provide steady, repeatable reputation gains. These activities are not weekly-gated and can be integrated into your farming rotation at any time.

  • Mini PvP & Elite Events – Small-scale PvP clashes and elite objective encounters grant approximately 150 reputation per completion. There is no strict daily cap, making them excellent filler activities while waiting for War Supply Crates or weekly resets.
  • Domanaar Escort Event – One of the most impactful rotating activities. During this event, two Domanaar constructs (one per faction) move toward a shared objective point. Your goal is to ensure your faction’s Domanaar reaches the destination first while preventing the opposing faction from doing the same.
  • Domanaar Fatigue Mechanic – Every five successful attacks applied to a Domanaar inflict a 5% movement speed reduction. The slow effect lasts 10 seconds and stacks with continued pressure. Sustained attacks can dramatically delay the enemy Domanaar’s progress.
  • Team Strategy – Success depends on role distribution. A defensive group protects your Domanaar from disruption, while an offensive group continuously attacks the opposing Domanaar to stack Fatigue. Poor coordination leads to stalemates; organized groups secure consistent wins and maximize reputation gains.
  • Why It Matters – These events respawn frequently and are not gated by weekly limits. Integrating Mini Events into your farming route significantly increases overall efficiency toward Exalted, especially when combined with War Mode supply drops and quest objectives.

Optimizing Your Reputation Grind

For maximum efficiency:

  • Complete the weekly quest immediately
  • Enable War Mode permanently while farming
  • Prioritize War Supply Crates whenever they spawn
  • Farm Void-Tainted Remains during Void Scavenge events
  • Stack reputation bonuses when possible

If you combine War Mode quests, crates, and Remains farming, reaching Exalted becomes significantly faster than relying on world quests alone.

Farming Voidlight Marl

In addition to reputation, you need 6000 Voidlight Marl.

Voidlight Marl is obtained from:

  • World quests
  • Treasures in the zone
  • Rare elites
  • Weekly activities

By the time you reach Exalted reputation, you will likely have accumulated most of the required Marl naturally.

The Slayer’s Duellum Quartermaster

After you reach Exalted with Slayer’s Duellum and finish farming the required 6000 Voidlight Marl, the final step is simple - you just need to visit the faction quartermaster and purchase your mount.

The quartermaster is Thraxadar. He can be found in Slayer’s Rise, on the northern end of Master’s Perch. Use the waypoint below to reach him quickly and avoid wasting time searching around the cliffs.

Thraxadar

Once you arrive, open his vendor inventory and purchase Frenzied Shredclaw. Thraxadar also offers a variety of additional Slayer’s Duellum cosmetics and visual rewards, so it’s worth checking his full stock before leaving - especially if you plan to continue farming the faction for transmog, toys, or other collection items.

Research Console – Void Lust Buff

At Renown 2 with the main Voidstorm faction The Singularity, you unlock access to a Research Console that grants Voidlust.

This buff provides:

  • +25% Critical Strike
  • +5% Leech
  • +10% Movement Speed

This dramatically increases farming speed, especially during War Mode crate battles. You can get a buff from an NPC Void Researcher Anomander

Useful addons for Frenzied Shredclaw

While earning Frenzied Shredclaw revolves around reputation and activities in Slayer’s Rise, having the right addons drastically improves efficiency, awareness, and navigation. In Midnight, many old WeakAuras functionality has changed or stopped working, so choosing addons that actually function in the current expansion is essential.

  • TomTom – This is one of the most important addons for this mount. It allows you to set waypoints and navigate precisely to dynamic objectives like supply crates, world quest locations, mini-events, and reputation nodes. While farming rep and Marl, accurate travel saves a huge amount of time.
    Priority: Core navigation addon.
  • HandyNotes – Though Midnight has changed the way some objects appear, HandyNotes with the appropriate Midnight or world quest plugins can help mark dynamic events, crates, and rare objectives on your map. This makes it easier to hit high-value rep sources without guessing.
Priority: Highly recommended for map clarity.
  • World Quest Tracker – This addon is valuable because it highlights world quests and objectives that award reputation or Voidlight Marl. It’s especially useful when you’re chasing quests in and around Slayer’s Rise without having to check menus constantly.
Priority: Significant quality-of-life boost for event and quest tracking.
  • RareScanner – While not directly tied to reputation, RareScanner alerts you when rare NPCs or rare treasures spawn. These often drop Voidlight Marl and other useful loot that accelerates your overall progression toward the mount.
    Priority: Optional, but helpful.
  • Leatrix Plus – Adds various interface quality-of-life improvements like faster interactions and UI tweaks which reduce unnecessary clicking while farming objectives, quests, and turn-ins.
    Priority: Nice auxiliary addon.

The most efficient setup for Frenzied Shredclaw progression is a combination of TomTom for navigation and World Quest Tracker for dynamic objective awareness. These two alone will significantly reduce time spent traveling and help you jump straight into high-value activities that push Slayer’s Duellum reputation and Marl accumulation.
