Echo of Aln'sharan is one of the standout Midnight mounts and a fresh take on the classic Sky Shard grind system. Visually, it follows the Cloud Serpent model, styled as an Echo of Azeroth entity, making it an immediate target for collectors who enjoy elegant flying serpent mounts.
Unlike simple drop-based mounts, Echo of Aln'sharan requires a structured progression path: you must first complete a dedicated quest chain in Harandar, unlock shard drops, then collect 500 Mysterious Skyshards before performing a final interaction in the zone. The grind is real — but it’s far more efficient than previous shard-based mounts if done correctly.
Obtaining Echo of Aln'sharan is a three-stage process:
Before Mysterious Skyshards can even drop, you must complete a side quest chain located in Ha-Kuai in Harandar (top-right part of the zone).
The chain begins with:
Once completed, you will receive your first 5 Mysterious Skyshards, confirming the system is unlocked.
Important:
Mysterious Skyshards drop exclusively in Harandar and can be obtained from regular mobs, the Harandar dungeon and delves in the zone
The fastest method confirmed in testing is farming the delve The Grudge Pit.
/way 71.00 65.61 - The Grudge Pit
Each run can reward between 2 to 5+ Mysterious Skyshards. With efficient resets and strong AoE, players can reach approximately 100–150 shards per hour, meaning the full grind can realistically be completed in 3–4 hours of focused farming.
If delve farming feels difficult solo, you can farm west of the Den where dense plant-type mob packs spawn in clusters of 3–5 enemies. While less efficient than Grudge Pit, it is safer and easier.
If neither feels optimal, organized hyperspawn groups (5-man or 2x4 setups) may emerge as an even faster method during the expansion.
Once you collect 500 Mysterious Skyshards, return to Kuri in Ha-Kuai.
At the platform where you completed the final quest, an extra action button will appear. Throw all 500 shards into the water, gain a special buff, then search the skies for Aln'sharan flying above the zone.
Previously, approaching Aln'sharan would cause lethal damage. After completing the ritual, you can now land directly on the flying entity.
To obtain the mount:
Aln'sharan flies high around the edges of the zone and may spawn in different locations. If not visible, fly high along the perimeter and use a targeting macro to locate it.
/targetexact Aln'sharan
/run if UnitExists("target") then SetRaidTarget("target",8) end
Because this mount is grind-focused, efficiency tools matter heavily.
