The Brilliant Petalwing is a unique flying mount added in the Midnight expansion. This radiant butterfly-like creature infused with arcane and solar energy is one of the most visually distinctive mounts in the expansion and a popular reward for players exploring the new zones of Quel’Thalas.
To unlock the Brilliant Petalwing, players must complete the meta achievement Light Up the Night. This achievement requires finishing multiple zone-wide objectives across Eversong Woods, Zul’Aman, Harandar, and Voidstorm, including exploration achievements, treasure hunting, rare mob kills, and various world events. In this guide, we explain how to complete each requirement and obtain the Brilliant Petalwing mount as efficiently as possible.
To unlock the Brilliant Petalwing mount, players must complete the meta achievement Light Up the Night. This achievement serves as a culmination of several major exploration and activity achievements spread across the Midnight expansion zones.
Each of the four primary regions involved in the meta contains its own set of objectives. These typically include discovering hidden treasures, defeating rare enemies, exploring the entire zone map, and completing special world events or environmental puzzles.
The four zone meta achievements required for Light Up the Night are:
Completing every required achievement across these zones will automatically grant the Light Up the Night meta achievement, which in turn rewards the Brilliant Petalwing mount.
The first region required for the Brilliant Petalwing meta achievement is Eversong Woods. The zone meta achievement Forever Song requires players to complete several exploration and activity achievements throughout the region.
Eversong Woods serves as one of the primary starting zones for Midnight content, offering players a mix of exploration, treasure hunting, rare hunting, and unique world activities tied to the Silvermoon Court faction.
To complete the Forever Song meta achievement you must finish the following objectives:
The achievement Treasures of Eversong Woods requires you to uncover every hidden treasure scattered throughout Eversong Woods. This part of the zone meta is one of the most rewarding because it combines exploration with a number of small environmental interactions, making it feel more involved than simply looting static objects.
There are nine treasures in total, and each one is tied to a different type of discovery. Some are placed in elevated locations that are easy to miss while flying through the zone, while others require interacting with nearby objects, feeding creatures, or gathering small materials from the surrounding area before the reward becomes available.
In addition to contributing toward the Forever Song meta achievement, every treasure also grants 50 Reputation with the Silvermoon Court renown faction, making this one of the more efficient ways to combine achievement progress with regional reputation gains while exploring the zone.
| Treasure | Reward | Notes |

| Rookery Cache Key | Sunwing Hatchling | On top of a floating platform above Sunwing Rookery in Silvermoon City. Requires Rookery Cache Key, obtained by feeding the Mischievous Chick next to the treasure with some Tasty Meat, purchased from Farstrider Aeriennder just to the left of the cache. Once you have the meat purchased, drop it on the floor next to the chick, and it will drop the Cache Key. |
| Triple-Locked Safebox | Gemmed Eversong Lantern |
Behind a broken cart near Windrunner Village. Requires three keys to unlock. You can see these keys on the ground when interacting with the Burning Torch next to the main treasure. Key 1: to the right of the ramp on the southern spire in Windrunner Village. Key 2: northeast of Key 1, by a broken Sin'dorei cart. Key 3: southeast of Key 2, by rocks near a lamppost. |
| Gift of the Phoenix | Gilded Eversong Cup | By a platform on the lake in Sunstrider Isle. Open the Sunstrider Vessel in the area and collect 5 feathers from the phoenix hatchlings nearby to obtain the treasure. |

The achievement Explore Eversong Woods requires players to uncover all fog-covered areas of the Eversong Woods map. To complete it, you simply need to travel across the zone and reveal each unexplored section of the map.
This objective is very straightforward and usually completes naturally while questing, gathering treasures, or hunting rares in the area. If some parts of the map remain hidden, flying across the remaining unexplored sections of the zone will quickly finish the achievement.
The achievement A Bloody Song requires you to defeat every rare creature that can appear throughout Eversong Woods. These enemies represent powerful threats roaming the forests and ruins of Quel’Thalas following the magical disturbances introduced in the Midnight expansion.
There are 15 rare enemies in total that must be defeated to complete the achievement. Most of them patrol fixed locations across the zone, while a few can spawn within specific event areas or corrupted magical locations.
Each rare defeated grants 50 Reputation with the Silvermoon Court renown faction (this reputation gain resets weekly). In addition to reputation rewards, many players use these rares as a reliable way to farm Coffer Key Shards and Adventurer gear pieces.
The achievement Runestone Rush requires players to successfully defend all five Runestones scattered across Eversong Woods.
Each Runestone can be activated by participating in a small world event. During the event, players must feed enough Latent Arcana into the Runestone to power it up and trigger an invasion encounter. Once the Runestone becomes fully charged, waves of enemies will begin attacking the location.
After several waves of enemies have been defeated, a powerful commander leading the invasion appears. Defeating this boss completes the Runestone defense event and grants credit toward the achievement.
Only one Runestone needs to be charged at a time in the zone, meaning players can complete the event in rotation depending on which Runestone is currently active.
Each Runestone defense is associated with a specific boss encounter:

The item Latent Arcana is obtained primarily from Saltheril's Soiree weekly quest rewards as well as treasure chests scattered across Eversong Woods.
The achievement The Party Must Go On requires players to invite all Silvermoon noble factions to Saltheril's Haven in Eversong Woods.
This objective is tied to the weekly social event hosted at Saltheril's Haven. During this gathering, players assist the Silvermoon Court in organizing diplomatic and cultural meetings between various noble houses of Quel'Thalas.
Progress toward the achievement is obtained through the weekly quest High Esteem. When accepting this quest, players are asked to choose a Silvermoon noble faction to invite to the gathering for the week.
Because only one noble faction can be invited each week, completing the achievement requires multiple weekly resets. Each time the quest becomes available again, players must select a different faction until all required invitations have been completed.
Your choice during High Esteem determines which faction will attend the event that week, meaning careful tracking is required if you want to complete the achievement efficiently.
Once all Silvermoon noble factions have attended Saltheril's Haven at least once, the achievement will be completed and progress toward the Forever Song meta achievement will be granted.
The achievement Ever Painting requires players to locate seven magical paintings scattered throughout Eversong Woods. These paintings depict various historical and cultural moments tied to the legacy of Quel'Thalas and the Silvermoon Court.
Most of the paintings are placed near notable landmarks, ruins, or points of interest across the zone. While none of them require combat or puzzles to interact with, they are often hidden slightly off the main paths, meaning players may need to explore side routes or elevated terrain to find them.
Below is the full list of paintings required for the achievement along with their general locations.

The achievement Making an Amani Out of You serves as the Zul'Aman zone meta achievement in Midnight. Completing it requires finishing a set of exploration, treasure, and activity-based achievements tied specifically to the Zul'Aman region. This zone represents the second major step of the Forever Song meta achievement chain.
While Eversong Woods focuses primarily on exploration and environmental discoveries, the Zul'Aman portion introduces more varied objectives. Players will need to locate hidden treasures, visit key landmarks across the forest, interact with special shrines, and complete several themed activities scattered throughout the zone.
Most of these achievements are straightforward to complete while exploring the area naturally, but a few require interacting with specific objects or locating less obvious locations. Following the route outlined in this guide will allow you to finish all required achievements efficiently while progressing through the zone.
To complete Making an Amani Out of You, you must earn the following achievements in Zul'Aman:
Each of these achievements contributes directly toward the Zul'Aman meta. The sections below explain how to complete every objective, including treasure locations, notable landmarks, and the specific interactions required for each activity.
The achievement Treasures of Zul'Aman requires you to locate and open every hidden treasure scattered throughout the Zul'Aman zone. In total, players must uncover eight unique treasures hidden across the jungle ruins.
Each treasure discovered grants 50 Reputation with the Amani Tribe renown faction and contributes toward completion of the Making an Amani Out of You meta achievement.
While some treasures can simply be looted once found, others require completing special objectives such as gathering items, solving environmental puzzles, or defeating specific enemies. Because of this, exploring Zul'Aman carefully and interacting with nearby objects is often required before the treasure can be opened.
| Treasure | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Abandoned Ritual Skull | Hexed Vilefeather Eagle | Located inside a cave within the Maisara Deeps area near the shoreline. To unlock this treasure you must collect 1,000 Vile Essence. These items drop from enemies roaming around the Maisara Deeps region. |
| Sealed Twilight's Blade Bounty | Arsenal: Twilight Blade | Found on the highest level of the central tower in the Broken Throne area. The chest remains sealed until four nearby towers are activated. Inside each tower you must locate a Sealing Orb and complete the short puzzle interaction. Once all four puzzles are finished, the treasure becomes accessible. |
| Burrow Bounty | Phial of Burrow Balm | Hidden inside one of the pangolin burrows located on the lower level of the Shrine of Kulzi. Search through the burrow entrances until you locate the treasure container. |
| Secret Formula | Fetid Dartfrog Idol | This item can be found east of Maisara Deeps near the remains of an old troll ritual site. The object lies among ruined structures in the area. |
| Honored Warrior's Cache | Ancestral War Bear |
This treasure recreates the classic Zul'Aman Bear Run style challenge. First interact with the cache to begin the event. You must then defeat four different Loa Chosen enemies and collect their tokens:
Akil'zon's Chosen drops the Eagle Talon. This enemy can be found descending the mountain south of the Temple of Akil'zon. Nalorakk's Chosen drops the Bear Tooth. The mob patrols an island located in the river beneath the Den of Nalorakk. Jan'alai's Chosen drops the Dragonhawk Feather. Look for this enemy near a burned tree south of the main building at the Temple of Jan'alai. Halazzi's Chosen drops the Lynx Claw. This enemy stands on a clearing above the cave where Necrohexxer Raz'ka is located within the Temple of Halazzi grounds. Once all four tokens are collected, return to the cache in the cave and open it to obtain the reward. |
| Bait and Tackle | Abyss Angler's Fish Log | This treasure sits inside a cave located near the source of the river north of the Broken Throne. Follow the river upstream to find the entrance. |
| Mrruk's Mangy Trove | Tolbani's Medicine Satchel | Located within the Atal'Abasi ruins. The treasure lies beneath the enemy Mrruk the Musclefin, so you must defeat the mob before looting it. |
| Abandoned Nest | Weathered Eagle Egg Scruffbeak |
Found in the Leech Bog area on top of a hollow tree trunk. After looting the egg, it will hatch after approximately 3 days. |

The achievement Explore Zul'Aman requires you to uncover every hidden area on the Zul'Aman map.
This is one of the easier objectives in the zone and usually takes very little time to complete. In most cases, all you need to do is fly through the region and reveal the remaining unexplored parts of the map.
If the achievement does not complete naturally while working on treasures, rares, and other activities in Zul'Aman, simply make another pass through the zone and check any fogged sections that are still left on your map.
The achievement Tallest Tree in the Forest requires you to defeat every rare creature that spawns in the Zul'Aman zone. In total, there are 15 rare mobs that must be killed to complete the achievement.
Each rare enemy in Zul'Aman awards 50 Reputation with the Amani Tribe renown faction. This reputation reward resets weekly, meaning rares can be farmed again after the reset for additional progress.
Most rares are straightforward encounters that spawn in fixed locations around the zone. However, a few require small interactions or specific conditions before they become attackable, such as clearing nearby enemies or interrupting rituals.

The achievement Altar of Blessings: Sacred Buffet Devotee requires you to trigger most of the Blessings available through the Altar of Blessings system in Zul'Aman.
Loa Blessings are a unique buff system in Zul'Aman. As you progress through the zone, you unlock the ability to worship different Loas and combine their powers. Each blessing is created by pairing one Major Loa with one Minor Loa, resulting in a special buff while you remain in the zone.
You can access the system by interacting with the Altar of Blessings located behind the Loa shrine in Amani'Zar village after completing the quest Blessings of the Loa.
To earn this achievement, select different blessings and trigger their special effects. Some blessings activate immediately, while others require entering combat, interacting with specific NPCs, or performing gathering activities.
Below is the list of blessings required for the achievement and how to activate them.
The achievement That's Aln, Folks! is the main meta achievement for Harandar, the third Midnight zone. To complete it, you must finish a collection of exploration, rare hunting, lore, and activity-based achievements tied to the region.
Harandar is one of the more varied zones in the expansion when it comes to achievement design. Some objectives are very simple and can be completed while flying through the area, while others require repeated participation in local events, reputation progress, or careful tracking of collectibles.
To earn That's Aln, Folks!, you need to complete the following achievements:
The sections below cover each Harandar achievement separately, including the activities, rares, collectibles, and special mechanics needed to finish the zone meta efficiently.
The achievement Treasures of Harandar requires players to discover every hidden treasure scattered across the Harandar zone. In total, there are 9 treasures hidden throughout the region.
Each treasure rewards 50 Reputation with the Hara'ti renown faction. These treasures are obtained through a variety of activities across Harandar, including exploration, solving small environmental puzzles, or interacting with special objects found in the zone.
Some of the treasures are easy to collect once located, while others require completing additional tasks before they can be opened. Because of this, finishing the achievement may take a bit of time as you work through each requirement.
Completing this achievement rewards the mount Vivacious Chloroceros. If you want a detailed walkthrough for unlocking the mount as efficiently as possible, you can also check our Vivacious Chloroceros Mount Guide.
The achievement Leaf None Behind requires players to defeat every rare creature found in Harandar. In total, the zone contains 15 rare mobs that must be killed in order to complete this objective.
Each rare enemy rewards 50 Reputation with the Hara'ti renown faction. This reputation bonus resets weekly, allowing players to hunt the rares again for additional reputation if desired. Most encounters are fairly simple, although a few of them are marked as Rare-Elite and may require stronger gear or assistance from other players.

The achievement Legends Never Die requires you to uncover the story behind all of the Legends of the Haranir relics. Progress is obtained by completing the Legends of the Haranir world event, a short scenario that can be started once per week.
During this event, you choose which relic to investigate for that week. Each run reveals additional lore tied to the Haranir and their history within Harandar.
There are 7 relics to discover in total. The first five relics — Wey'nan's Ward, Cauldron of Echoes, The Echoless Flame, Russula's Outreach, and Aln'hara's Bloom — can all be completed within the same week by using different characters to finish the weekly scenario.
The final two relics, Root of the World and Sky's Hope, only unlock after the first five relics have been collected on a single character. Because of this requirement, completing the full achievement takes a minimum of 7 weeks.
The achievement Chronicler of the Haranir requires you to collect all lore objects that appear during each of the seven storylines within the Legends of the Haranir world event.
Each storyline contains three lore objects that must be interacted with in order to progress the achievement. These objects are easy to locate because they are marked on the minimap with a magnifying glass icon.
In most cases, all three lore items appear on the minimap right at the start of the scenario. As you move through the event objectives, you will naturally pass close to them, making it simple to collect each piece of lore during the run.
Similar to Legends Never Die, this achievement is tied to the weekly scenario rotation. Because there are seven storylines in total, completing the full achievement requires at least 7 weeks.
The achievement No Time to Paws requires you to build up at least 15 stacks of Predator's Pursuit during the World Quest Claw Enforcement.
During this world quest, you ride a Grimlynx mount and chase down critters across The Den. Each critter you run over grants one stack of Predator's Pursuit. The buff lasts 15 seconds, so you must continue stepping on critters frequently to keep the stack active while building toward the required amount.
The key to completing the achievement is maintaining the buff without letting it expire while increasing the stack count.
Because the achievement is tied to a World Quest, a reliable strategy is to attempt it while grouped in a raid group. World quest progress does not count while in a raid, which prevents the quest from completing prematurely while you are still stacking the buff for the achievement.
The achievement Dust 'Em Off requires you to collect all 120 Glowing Moth scattered throughout Harandar. These moths become available gradually as you progress with the Hara'ti renown faction.
The collectibles are divided into three groups of 40 moths. Each group unlocks at specific Renown levels. First, you reach the Renown threshold that allows you to interact with the moths, and then usually one or two Renown levels later you gain the ability to track them on your minimap.
To complete the full achievement, you will need at least Renown 9 with the Hara'ti to interact with every moth, or Renown 11 if you want them to appear as minimap tracking icons.
Finishing this achievement also unlocks two mounts tied to the Glowing Moth collection. If you want a full walkthrough, including the locations of all 120 Glowing Moths, you can follow our Elder Glowmite Mount Guide.
The achievement From The Cradle to the Grave requires you to reach the area known as The Cradle in Harandar.
The Cradle is the name given by the Haranir to the enormous root structure that forms the upper canopy of the zone. The central part of these roots is positioned high above The Den.
To complete the achievement, simply mount a flying mount and ascend toward the upper root canopy above the zone. As you approach the roots that form The Cradle, the game will automatically teleport you back down to the ground and grant the achievement.
The Yelling into the Voidstorm meta achievement requires completing several objectives across the Voidstorm zone, the fourth area introduced in the Midnight expansion.
To complete this meta achievement and progress toward the mount requirements, you must finish the following Voidstorm achievements:
Below you will find detailed instructions for completing each of these achievements in Voidstorm.
The achievement Treasures of Voidstorm requires you to discover every hidden treasure scattered throughout Voidstorm. In total, the zone contains thirteen different treasures to locate.
Each treasure rewards 50 Reputation with The Singularity renown faction and is obtained by completing various small puzzles, interactions, or exploration tasks across the zone.
| Treasure | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Final Clutch of Predaxas | Reins of the Insatiable Shredclaw | Located in the Den of Predaxas inside a cave. Inside you must complete a small puzzle where you navigate through electrified eggs. Touching an egg resets you to the beginning. While interacting with the puzzle you are silenced. |
| Void-Shielded Tomb | 20 Stormarion Core | Found in Stormarion Arena within the northern building. The chest starts locked. Drink the Potion of Dissociation on the nearby table to gain the Dissociated buff for one minute. While the buff is active, travel to the southern building and loot the Key of Fused Darkness, which becomes visible on your minimap. Use the key to unlock the treasure. |
| Bloody Sack | Hungry Black Hole | Located in Obscurion Citadel behind the main structure. Interact with the Forgotten Oubliette and feed it four nearby pieces of meat to reveal the treasure. |
| Malignant Chest | Void Elf Torch | Inside a cave in the Gnawing Reach. The chest appears only after activating four Malignant Nodes positioned at each corner of the cave. |
| Stellar Stash | Void Elf Round Table | Located within the entrance structures surrounding Voidscar Arena. Use one of the nearby gateways to enter. Interact with the stash and pull out three objects from it — the third interaction unlocks the treasure. |
| Forgotten Researcher's Cache | Researcher's Shadowgraft | Found inside the Den of Predaxas in a chest on the lowest level of the main cave. |
| Scout's Pack | Unused Initiate's Bulwark | Located at the top of the northwest pillar within Voidscar Arena. |
| Embedded Spear | Harpoon of Extirpation | Found near a carcass in Obscurion Citadel on the lower level of the area. |
| Quivering Egg | Nether Siphoner | Located in The Molt near a carcass in the northern part of the area. |

The achievement Explore Voidstorm requires you to uncover every unexplored section of the Voidstorm map. To complete it, simply travel through the zone until all fogged areas are revealed.
This objective is very straightforward and usually only takes a short flight around the zone to discover each location.
The achievement The Ultimate Predator requires you to defeat every rare creature found throughout Voidstorm. In total, there are 14 rare mobs that must be killed for completion.
Each rare enemy in Voidstorm awards 50 Reputation with The Singularity renown faction when defeated. This reputation can only be obtained once per week per character, but most rares are easy to reach and defeat.

The achievement Thrill of the Chase requires you to evade the Hungering Presence for at least 60 seconds.
Hungering Presence is a massive harrower that begins chasing players who fly either too high or too far away from the main Voidstorm area. Its speed is comparable to a skyriding mount while under the effects of Thrill of the Skies, so maintaining consistent momentum is the key to surviving the chase. If the creature reaches you, you will die instantly.
Before attempting the achievement, it is helpful to prepare your route. We recommend using the in-game stopwatch (default command: /stopwatch) to track the required time. A tall starting location near the outer edges of Voidstorm works well — the mountains between Obscurion Citadel and Nexus-Point Xenas are a good example.
Having the Whirling Surge Skyriding Choice Node unlocked is also very useful, as it provides a powerful emergency burst of speed.
To begin the attempt, fly toward the outer boundary of the Voidstorm map without spending Skyriding charges. Once the message appears indicating that Hungering Presence is targeting you, start your stopwatch and immediately descend or turn toward the zone interior.
Maintain your momentum by flying on a slight downward angle to keep Thrill of the Skies active. Use Skyward Ascent to regain altitude when needed, and activate Whirling Surge if the creature gets too close. If your Skyriding charges run low, you can also use Second Wind to recover them.
After surviving the pursuit for one minute, the achievement will complete. At that point, you can safely stop flying — even if the Hungering Presence catches you afterward.
The achievement A Singular Problem requires you to successfully complete all three waves of the Stormarion Assault World Event.
The Stormarion Assault event takes place in the southwestern part of Voidstorm and occurs approximately every 30 minutes. To earn the achievement, players must fully complete the event by defeating each wave of enemies and preventing the Shadowguard forces from overtaking the area.
Several addons can significantly simplify the process of completing the achievements required for this mount. Tools that track rare enemies, reveal treasure locations, and help navigate between coordinates will save a lot of time while exploring Voidstorm and finishing the meta requirements.
Using these addons together will make exploration, rare hunting, and treasure collection much faster while working toward unlocking the mount.
