Polyatomic Reforged is the second of three multiplayer Mastery camos in Modern Warfare 4, the purple crystal pattern between Mercurial Drift and Orion Reforged. It is one of the last steps of the whole camo grind: before you can even see its challenge, you need Divergence and Mercurial Drift, which means every Completionist camo on all 33 weapons. The challenge itself asks for three kills without taking damage, 300 times. Below we explain the full chain that leads to Polyatomic Reforged, what is and isn't confirmed about how it unlocks, and the loadouts and modes that make a 300-streak grind bearable.
Polyatomic Reforged sits at the end of a long chain. Each step has to be finished before the next appears:
In game, the camo sits on the Mode Mastery tab of every weapon's Camo Select screen, under Multiplayer. Until Mercurial Drift is done, the Polyatomic challenge is shown locked below it.
The three kills have to come in a row without you losing any health in between. Taking damage resets the count, so the challenge rewards short, clean fights. It is a multiplayer-only challenge: DMZ has its own three Mastery camos, Chiral, Ripple Tide and Helio.
The challenge text has no weapon or class in it, and progress counts with any gun, so you don't need 300 streaks on each of 33 weapons. What isn't confirmed yet is whether completing it unlocks the camo on every weapon at once. Infinity Ward hasn't said, and no player has reached it yet, since Mercurial Drift alone takes 250 big matches after Divergence. We will update this guide as soon as the first players get there.
Finishing Polyatomic Reforged opens Orion Reforged, the last multiplayer Mastery camo: 5 kills without dying, 500 times. It needs only the Polyatomic challenge, not Polyatomic on every weapon.
Three hundred clean streaks is a lot, so the goal is to set up as many short, one-sided fights as possible. If you average three streaks a match, that is about 100 matches.
In Hardcore, most fights end in one or two shots, so you rarely survive a fight with damage. Hardcore Hardpoint works especially well: enemies keep running into the same spot, and fights are over before you can be hit.
Ghost hides you from enemy UAVs, Dead Silence keeps your footsteps quiet, and a Portable Radar shows you who is coming. Footsteps are loud in MW4, so Ninja helps you hear enemies before they see you. The more fights you start, the more of them you win without taking a hit.
Pick a spot with one or two entrances and let enemies come to you instead of pushing into crossfire. Head glitches, windows and corners where only part of your body is exposed all cut the damage you take.
By this point every weapon has Harmonic Break, so you can use any gun. Pick the one with the fastest time to kill at your usual range and a suppressor, so kills don't reveal you on the minimap.
After three clean kills, take a moment to reposition before the next fight. Chasing a fourth kill into an open lane is how most streaks end with damage.
If 300 streaks after the whole Completionist ladder sounds like too much, our MW4 Polyatomic Reforged camo boost gets it done for you.
These guides cover the rest of the camo ladder.
These are the questions players ask most about the camo.
Unlock Divergence, finish Mercurial Drift (10 kills in a match, 250 times), then get 3 kills without taking damage, 300 times.
No. The challenge counts with any weapon. Whether the camo then unlocks on all weapons at once is not confirmed yet.
No. It is a multiplayer Mastery camo. DMZ has Chiral, Ripple Tide and Helio instead.
