PoE 2 Huntress Build

Huntress is the only class where the three Ascendancies share almost nothing mechanically. Most classes have Ascendancies that are variations on a theme — different flavours of the same core identity. Huntress instead offers a companion and movement-based hybrid (Spirit Walker), a high-accuracy crit attacker (Amazon), and a jewelry-stacking dark caster (Ritualist) — three genuinely different games on the same base class. The Spear weapon type is also unique to Huntress, enabling both melee and ranged playstyles from the same weapon depending on skill choice. Combined with Spirit Walker's Beast Taming — bringing unique bosses into your build as permanent companions — Huntress has mechanics that don't exist anywhere else in PoE 2.

Spirit Walker is the answer if you want the strongest overall ceiling and don't mind a rotational playstyle — Twister Spirit Walker is currently the defining Huntress build, and Beast Taming adds a layer of customisation no other Ascendancy has. It has the steepest learning curve of the three.

Amazon is the answer if you want a stable, well-understood league start with a high floor. Stalking Panther and Critical Strike scale naturally with gear you'll find through normal progression — no exotic mechanics, no waiting on a good companion roll. The ceiling is lower than Spirit Walker but the build works from level one.

Ritualist is the answer if you want to build around jewelry — rings and amulets become your primary power source through Mystic Achievement's 25% bonus. It's the pick for players who want a dark caster playstyle or plan to invest heavily in ring and amulet modifiers rather than weapon and armour slots.

Twister Spirit Walker is the strongest overall Huntress build in Runes of Aldur. Screen-wide freeze from Twister combines with Spirit Walker's Owl and Stag spirits to create a clear loop that scales from league start into high-investment endgame, and it demolishes Ritual and other open-area content. The trade-off is a real learning curve — it's a multi-button rotation, not an autopilot build. For players who want the same power level without the rotation complexity, Beast Master Spirit Walker built around a properly-rolled tamed companion is a strong alternative — the companion handles a significant share of the damage output. If you want a simpler, more accessible league starter, Ice Shot Amazon is the floor-focused choice — strong from level one without exotic gear requirements. Yes — but only with the right beast and the right modifier roll. A properly-tamed unique boss like the Mighty Silverfist or Chimera can carry a meaningful share of your map clear and boss damage, effectively giving Spirit Walker a second damage source that scales independently of your own gear. The catch is that most beasts in the wild don't have useful modifier rolls — taming the first one you find usually means a companion that occupies a slot and contributes little. Identifying which beasts are worth taming, and recognising a good roll when you find one, takes specific knowledge most players don't have on their first Spirit Walker character.
