Midnight Season 1 is on its last legs, and Patch 12.1: Curse of Ula'tek closes the book on it. The moment Season 2 opens, a stack of rewards you can still grab today either vanishes or turns into a long-shot farm: the Season 1 Gladiator mount, the Keystone titles, the whole Prey collection, a raid meta mount most people never bothered with. Ladders reset, seasonal tracks wipe, and a chunk of your currency turns into silver. This is the checklist for clearing the good stuff out before that reset lands.
The other half of the job is prep. A season flip rewards whoever showed up ready, so the smart play right now is banking the things that carry straight into Season 2 and give you a running start: a high item level floor, catalyst charges in the bank, and every alt you care about sitting at level 90. Do both halves and you walk into Curse of Ula'tek collecting new loot on day one instead of grinding to catch up. If you would rather skip the grind, a WoW boost gets it done faster.
Season 1 spread its raid tier across four instances instead of one. The three launch raids hold the bulk of the collectibles: The Voidspire, The Dreamrift, and March on Quel'Danas. Sporefall got bolted on in Patch 12.0.7 as a single-boss weekly. Some of these rewards go legacy the instant Season 2 opens. Others technically stick around but get far lonelier to farm once the tier stops being current.
| Raid | Bosses | Headline Reward to Chase |
|---|---|---|
| The Voidspire | 6 (ends on Crown of the Cosmos) | AotC / Cutting Edge, Glory achievements |
| The Dreamrift | 1 (Chimaerus) | AotC / Cutting Edge (Chimaerus), Dream-Eater title (Mythic) |
| March on Quel'Danas | 2 (ends on Midnight Falls) | Ashes of Belo'ren mount, Dawnbringer title |
| Sporefall | 1 (Rotmire) | Mythic Flex clear, ilvl 298 per-slot ceiling |
These are the hard deadline, and there's one for each of the three launch raids. On Heroic you're after Ahead of the Curve: Crown of the Cosmos (The Voidspire), Ahead of the Curve: Chimaerus (The Dreamrift), and Ahead of the Curve: Midnight Falls (March on Quel'Danas) — kill each raid's final boss before the next tier opens. The Mythic versions, Cutting Edge: Crown of the Cosmos, Cutting Edge: Chimaerus, and Cutting Edge: Midnight Falls, do the same at the top end. All six become permanently unobtainable the week Season 2's raid launches. There's no mount attached, but AotC is the badge every pug leader scans for, and it never comes back for this tier. If you're one clean Heroic night away, book it now.
The raid mount hides behind Glory of the Midnight Raider, a meta built from a pile of quirky boss achievements across the three launch raids. Finish them all and you collect the Tenebrous Harrower flying mount. Unlike AotC, the Glory meta doesn't hard-expire — but it gets brutal to organize once nobody's running last tier's raids. You want a coordinated group that knows the gimmick achievements, and that group evaporates fast after a season flip. Do it while the fights are still farm-status and people still show up.
The single best-looking raid drop is Ashes of Belo'ren, and it comes off Midnight Falls on Mythic difficulty in March on Quel'Danas. Right now it drops at a healthy rate while the tier is current; expect that to crater once Season 2 arrives, the way every current-tier Mythic mount does. Two titles ride alongside the Mythic kills. Downing Midnight Falls on Mythic grants the "Dawnbringer" title, and clearing Chimaerus on Mythic in the Dreamrift hands over "Dream-Eater". Neither expires, but both are cheapest to earn while your group still outgears the content.
Your Mythic+ rating zeroes out the moment Season 2 begins, and everything gated behind it goes with the reset. That list runs longer than most people think: two rating-recolor mounts, a 3,400 mount-choice token, the top-1% exclusive mount, three titles, and the one everyone forgets — your dungeon teleports. Keystone Hero portals only unlock while their dungeon sits in the active pool, and Season 2 rotates the whole roster. Miss a portal now and you're waiting until that dungeon cycles back in, which can be years.
| Rating | Achievement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 1500 | Keystone Conqueror | Title: "the Umbral" |
| 2000 | Keystone Master | Calamitous Carrion mount |
| 2500 | Keystone Hero | Gleaming Sunmote (tier visuals) |
| 3000 | Keystone Legend | Convalescent Carrion mount |
| 3400 | Keystone Myth | Timelost Saddle (pick any mount) + "the Umbral Contender" title |
| Top 1% | Umbral Champion | Umbral Ashes mount |
| Top 0.1% | Umbral Hero | Title: "the Umbral Hero" |
The 2000 line is the one most people can realistically hit. Clear it and Calamitous Carrion is yours, along with the "the Umbral" title from the 1500 breakpoint you'll pass on the way. Push to 3000 and the chrome-recolor Convalescent Carrion marks you as top-end. Patch 12.0.5 bolted two more rewards onto the top of the ladder. At 3400 (roughly every dungeon timed at +16) Keystone Myth hands you a Timelost Saddle, a token you take to Lindormi to swap for any mount in a curated pool, plus the "the Umbral Contender" title. Above that sits the real trophy: finish the season in your region's top 1% and the Umbral Champion achievement awards Umbral Ashes, a molten recolor of the Mythic raid mount Ashes of Belo'ren. The very ceiling, Umbral Hero, seals the top 0.1% behind the "the Umbral Hero" title — a hard cutoff that only settles when the season actually ends.
Delves and Prey are where the largest pile of Season 1-exclusive collectibles lives, and both run on seasonal tracks that reset in Curse of Ula'tek. Progress you leave unfinished doesn't roll over. The rank rewards reset with the new track. If you only clear one section of this whole checklist, make it this one, because the volume of stuff at stake here is enormous.
Two Delve mounts are worth prioritizing before the reset. The Elven Arcane Guardian comes from Undercoin at vendor Naleidea Rivergleam in Silvermoon, at 10,000 Undercoin — and banking Undercoin now is smart even if you haven't decided which mount you want. The other drops from soloing the season's Nemesis (below). The Delver's Journey track itself resets in Season 2, so any rank rewards still sitting unclaimed are on a timer.
The season's Nemesis, Nullaeus, is the Delve piece with a true expiry date. Soloing him in his lair at the bottom of Torment's Rise on the ?? (Hard) difficulty completes Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus and awards the Arcanovoid Construct mount — and that achievement is only earnable before the next Delve season opens, so it locks out for good the instant Season 2's Delves go live. It's the tightest solo deadline in the whole pool, and the solo-kill crowd is already deep into it.
Your Delve companion, Valeera Sanguinar, is the piece that genuinely carries forward. Level her as high as you can before the flip. A maxed companion means your Season 2 Delves start stronger from the first run instead of babysitting an underpowered ally through early tiers.
Prey is Midnight's standout Season 1 system, and its collection is deep. The seasonal faction, Prey: Season 1, runs ten ranks, and rank rewards from vendor Construct V'anore reset with Season 2's track. The two headline mounts sit at the top of that ladder:
| Reward | Journey Rank | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Preyseeker's Hubris | Rank 5 | 2000 Remnant of Anguish |
| Preyseeker's Wrath | Rank 10 | 2550 Remnant of Anguish |
The third mount is the trophy. Preyseeker's Nightmare drops from Prey: Nightmare Mode III, which means defeating every unique Prey target on Nightmare difficulty — solo, no group allowed. That's a real grind, and it's the reward most likely to slip away if you start too late. Beyond the mounts, V'anore also sells pets, transmog ensembles, and a long set of housing decor busts and effigies tied to Hard and Nightmare boss kills. If you collect anything at all, Prey is the richest single vein in Season 1.
PvP seasons are all-or-nothing. When the ladder resets, its titles and cosmetics go into the vault, and most never come back. The Galactic reward line is Season 1's, and Season 2 replaces every piece of it with the Venomous set. Whatever you can reach in these final weeks, reach it. Even a small push can bank a mount or a title that flat-out stops existing after the reset.
| Rating / Rank | Achievement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 1000 | Combatant I | Title, Vicious mount progress starts |
| 1800 | Rival I | Title: "Rival" |
| 2100 | Duelist | Title: "Duelist" |
| 2300+ | Elite | Title: "the Elite", full Elite transmog set |
| Elite, 50 wins (3v3) | Gladiator | Galactic Gladiator's Goredrake |
The Vicious Snaplizard is the accessible prize. Wins start counting toward the Season Rewards bar at 1000 rating, and filling it hands over the mount — no elite-tier play required, just steady rated games. At the top end, Galactic Gladiator's Goredrake demands 50 wins at Elite rank in 3v3, and like every Gladiator mount before it, it never returns once the season closes. The other formats carry their own seals: Legend for 100 Solo Shuffle rounds at Elite, Strategist for 25 Blitz wins at Elite, and the top-0.1% titles like Galactic Gladiator that settle only when the ladder freezes.
Before the patch drops, empty your wallet. Conquest resets, and any you're sitting on converts to a trickle of gold. Spend it on gear for offspecs or alts, or on pieces you can scrap. Anything beats watching it evaporate. Same logic applies to leftover honor-tier currency.
The pre-season lull always comes with a Timewalking event, and this one lines up perfectly with the reset. Turbulent Timeways V runs from June 30 to August 11, 2026, six weeks that end right around the expected patch day. Each week rotates a different expansion's Timewalking dungeons, and completing runs across the weeks builds toward the meta.
The headline reward is Spawn of Vyranoth, an icy proto-drake tied to Master of the Turbulent Timeways V. The achievement wants four qualifying weeks out of six, so you can miss two and still finish. But with the event closing on August 11, procrastinating past early August risks running out of weeks. There's no vendor fallback for this mount; the meta is the only source.
Timeways pulls double duty as prep, too. Every Timewalking run stacks an account-wide experience buff that climbs to a hefty boost, which turns alt leveling from a slog into a sprint. The weekly Timewalking quest cache also scales to a current Heroic-track item level, so it doubles as a low-effort gear top-up for freshly leveled characters. More on that in the next section.
Turbulent Timeways V GuideThe permanent losses are Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge (all raids); the top-1% Mythic+ Umbral Ashes mount from the Umbral Champion achievement, which Blizzard has confirmed has no post-season source; the Arcanovoid Construct mount from soloing the Delve Nemesis before the next Delve season; the Season 1 Gladiator mount and every PvP title; and the top-0.1% Mythic+ and PvP titles. Season teleports, the rating-recolor mounts, and the Prey and Delve Journey rewards technically stay reachable but get far harder once the content stops being current, since ratings reset and the dungeon pool rotates.
Season 2 raises the reward baseline by 46 item levels and caps at item level 344, so exact Season 1 numbers matter less than simply arriving with a solid floor. Push through Delves and Mythic+, grab Sporefall's ilvl 298 Mythic Flex ceiling, and use the Timewalking cache. A comfortable floor lets you jump into Mythic 0s and new world content on day one instead of catching up.
No for the seasonal ones. Conquest and unspent Nebulous Voidcores convert to gold at the reset, and Dawncrests retire in favor of Mistcrests. Spend all three before the patch. Catalyst charges and your entire collection do carry over, so bank charges and don't stress those.
Yes, if you're close to a breakpoint. Hitting 2000 secures Calamitous Carrion and the "the Umbral" title, and each Keystone Hero +10 locks a permanent dungeon teleport before the pool rotates. Those portals are the single most convenient thing you can bank, and a +10 is very achievable this late into the season.
Level now. The Turbulent Timeways V experience buff is active until August 11 and makes leveling dramatically faster. With a heavy class tuning pass and eight spec reworks landing in Patch 12.1, having a leveled backup means you can pivot to whatever the new meta rewards without a scramble.
