Best Mythic+ Addons for The War Within Season 2

Updated 04 Apr 2025 | Author: Dmitro | ~17 min

Mythic+ dungeons in World of Warcraft's latest The War Within expansion push players to their limits with timed runs, challenging enemies, and affixes that ramp up the difficulty. To succeed and improve your Mythic+ rio, skill and teamwork are crucial – but so is having the efficient User Interface.

In this guide, we’ll break down the currently best addons for Mythic+, organized by roles: DPS, Healer and Tank, and a final section for Universal Addons (which everyone should at least consider trying!). We hope this guide will help you improve your results in Mythic+, and in case you need a fast and high quality M+ boosting, don't hesitate to ask for our help:

TWW Mythic+ Addons - DPS Role

DPS role in Mythic+ has a straightforward but challenging job: kill stuff fast without dying. Great damage output is important for beating the timer, but DPS players also need awareness – standing in fire or missing an interrupt can immediately ruin a run. The following addons help damage dealers maximize their DPS and also stay on top of dungeon mechanics:

Details! Damage Meter

Download.

Details lets you drill down into which abilities did the most damage, how much damage went into overkill, etc. It’s also great for comparing damage on specific priority targets (e.g. how quickly did you burn down that one problematic add). Beyond personal improvement, Details can display useful info like interrupts landed, dispels, and even deaths, which can help the whole group analyze what went wrong on a wipe. While TWW’s default UI gives basic damage numbers, Details! presents the info in a far more digestible way, with graphs and segment logs – perfect for DPS players looking to push higher keys and constantly up their game.

Hekili Priority Helper

Download.

Rotations in WoW can be complex, especially under Mythic+ pressure when you’re also dodging mechanics. Hekili is like a personal coach that suggests which ability you should use next in your rotation. It’s a DPS/Tank addon that creates an icon queue on your screen, showing the next few recommended skills based on your spec’s optimal priority list.

Are you a Fury Warrior unsure of when to hit Rampage versus Bloodthirst? Hekili will prompt you. Playing a caster and want to maximize your casts during movement? Hekili’s recommendations adapt on the fly, even accounting for cooldowns and number of targets. In Mythic+ where every bit of damage counts, using Hekili can improve your output by ensuring you’re pressing the best possible button at each moment. It’s especially useful if you’re learning a new DPS class or coming back after a long break – you’ll avoid the noobie mistakes of miscasting or letting buffs drop.

GTFO

Download.

Tunnel-vision is the bane of DPS players. You’re so focused on blasting the boss that you didn’t notice the pool of toxic goo at your feet… until you’re dead. GTFO ensures that doesn’t happen by blasting an audible alarm whenever you stand in something harmful. It’s a simple addon, but incredibly effective for all roles – and DPS, who often tend to focus on their rotations, get the most value from the loud “Get The F*** Out” alerts.

Plater Nameplates

Download.

In Mythic+ dungeons, mob management and target priority are vital for DPS. A good nameplate addon makes enemy health bars and cast bars much more informative and easier to see than the default UI. Plater is a top choice used by many high-ranked players due to its extreme customizability – think of it as the WeakAuras of nameplates.

For example, you can make the nameplate of that one mob that must die first glow or enlarge, so you don’t accidentally cleave the wrong target. You can also show your DoTs and their remaining time directly on each enemy’s nameplate, which is amazing for multi-dot classes (no more guessing if that far mob still has your Moonfire ticking – you’ll see an icon and timer above its head). Another huge benefit is clear cast warnings: Plater (with the right settings or a plugin) can flash an icon or color when an enemy begins casting a dangerous spell, like a heal or crowd-control. As a DPS, you can then quickly interrupt or stun that cast. All in all, having this addon is a must!

TWW Mythic+ Addons - Healer Role

Healing in Mythic+ is a juggling act. You’re expected to keep the party alive through heavy damage, dispel harmful debuffs, handle affixes, and often contribute some damage or utility yourself. The default raid frames and UI can be limiting for a role with SO much responsibility. Healers benefit massively from addons that present information clearly and allow quick reactions. Below are the best addons for healers striving to conquer higher keys:

VuhDo

Download.

A healer’s raid frames are their most important tool. VuhDo is a highly customizable raid frames addon that replaces the default party interface with something you can tailor completely to your needs. With VuhDo, you get to see your group’s health bars, buffs, debuffs, and status (e.g., range, aggro) at a glance, and you can configure it to highlight what matters the most to you.

For example, you can set it up so that any player affected by an important debuff (say, Grievous in a high key) has their health bar colored differently or an icon next to their name. You can also show indicators for your heal-over-time effects, shields, or any specific buffs (did my Earth Shield fall off the tank? VuhDo can show a small icon for that).

But the real magic of VuhDo (and similar addons like HealBot, Grid2 or Clique) is click-casting: you can bind your healing spells to mouse clicks directly on the frames. This means you don’t have to manually target a player then press a heal – you simply, for example, Shift+Right-Click on their bar to cast Rejuvenation, or Ctrl+Left-Click to cast Dispel Magic, etc. It’s an enormous efficiency boost!

BigDebuffs

Download.

Sometimes the difference between a good healer and a great healer is how quickly they react to a critical debuff on a party member. BigDebuffs helps ensure you never miss a debuff that matters. This lightweight addon hooks into your unit frames (works with Blizzard frames and popular ones like VuhDo or Grid2) and makes important debuffs highly visible by increasing their size or priority.

In Mythic+ dungeons, there are many dangerous debuffs: stuns, silences, healing reductions, magic curses that need dispelling, disease DoTs ticking down, etc. BigDebuffs will take, say, the icon of that stun on your DPS and enlarge it or even replace the player’s portrait with the debuff icon temporarily, so you immediately see "Oh, they’re stunned! or "They have Bursting stacks!". As a healer, this is invaluable.

Decursive

Download.

Healers (and some hybrid DPS too) are responsible for dispelling harmful effects in dungeons – poisons, diseases, curses, magic, depending on class. Decursive is an old-school addon that remains incredibly handy for making dispelling fast and easy. It provides a little set of unit buttons (usually small square indicators for each party member) that light up when someone in your party has something you can dispel. One click on that lit-up button and poof, the debuff is gone!

The beauty of Decursive is that it operates independently of your main unit frames, so even if you’re mid-cast or your attention is elsewhere, the Decursive panel will show, for instance, a bright colored square for the mage who just got cursed. You can then quickly click it without having to manually target or find the mage’s frame on your party frames.

TWW Mythic+ Addons - Tank Role

As a tank in Mythic+, you’re often the leader – choosing the route, starting each pull, and controlling the pace. You have to manage enemy aggro, position mobs and bosses, survive huge hits, and coordinate interrupts or crowd control. It’s a lot to keep track of, but these addons will lighten the load and give you the info you need to be an unshakeable tank in Mythic+:

Mythic Dungeon Tools

Download.

One of the tank’s unofficial jobs in Mythic+ is route planner. Knowing the optimal path through a dungeon, which packs to pull or skip, and how to get the required enemy kill count without wasting time is a huge part of high Mythic+ success.

Mythic Dungeon Tools is an addon that provides an in-game dungeon map with all enemy pulls, counts, and abilities. It lets you plan pulls by virtually selecting packs on the map, and it will calculate the enemy forces percentage for you. You can create a route, complete with notes and pull markers, then share it with your group. The addon also lists each enemy’s abilities, which is great for learning dungeons – you can mouseover a mob in MDT and see "Oh, this one casts Curse of Frailty – need to watch out for that!".

OmniCD – Party Cooldown Tracker

Download.

High-level Mythic+ is a team effort, and one of the tank’s duties is often to coordinate the team’s defensive and offensive cooldowns for each pull. OmniCD is an addon that displays your party members’ major cooldowns (both defensive abilities like Ice Block, survival consumables like Healthstone, and even offensive CDs if you configure it) in a neat timeline or icons.

For a tank, having this information is immensely helpful. Imagine you’re about to pull a big pack that hits very hard – as a tank you might want to know if your healer’s big cooldown (say Spirit Link Totem) is available, or if your DPS have their crowdcontrol or damage cooldowns ready to burn the pack down fast. OmniCD will show all that at a glance.

Another crucial aspect is interrupt tracking. OmniCD includes an interrupt bar feature that can show each party member’s interrupt cooldown. In Mythic+, especially on caster-heavy pulls, knowing who has an interrupt ready can allow you to assign kicks on the fly or call for someone to cover you if yours is down. As the tank, you’re often the one responsible for making sure casts get kicked – OmniCD turns that into a simple check rather than a guess.

GTFO

Download.

I previously highlighted GTFO for DPS players, but it’s equally (if not more) useful for tanks. As a tank in Mythic+, you are usually in melee range of enemies and often have to stand your ground. This also means you’re prone to standing in all the ground effects mobs put down – nasty pools, fire patches, frontals, etc. While you might think "I’m a tank, I can eat this", avoidable damage is still avoidable damage – it makes your healer’s job harder and can stack with other damage sources to eventually kill you.

In Mythic+ every bit of damage you avoid is a win – it could be the difference between surviving a later big hit or not. Even the best tanks occasionally miss a ground effect under the chaos of battle: GTFO ensures those moments are rare. It’s basically having an extra set of eyes (well, ears) covering your back.

TWW Mythic+ Addons - Best For Every Role

Some addons are beneficial to every Mythic+ participant, whether you’re dishing out damage, healing the team, or tanking the hits. These "universal" addons generally improve awareness of dungeon mechanics, time management, or the overall interface. No Mythic+ guide would be complete without recommending them, and you’ll find that almost all experienced players consider these as must-haves in The War Within's Mythic+ environment:

Weakauras

Download.

If there’s one addon that can do almost anything you dream of, it’s WeakAuras. WeakAuras (often abbreviated WA) is a powerful framework that lets you display custom graphics, icons, sounds, and notifications based on virtually any trigger in the game. It’s not a single purpose addon but rather a toolbox to build or import whatever you need.

For Mythic+ players, WeakAuras is a godsend: you can find or create auras for dungeon-specific mechanics, class rotations, cooldown tracking, and more. Not very tech-savvy? No problem – the community has created thousands of ready-made “auras” that you can import with a few clicks (from sites like wago.io). For example, you can have a WeakAura that puts a big flashing icon in the middle of your screen when you get a nasty debuff that you must handle, or an aura that yells a message when an interrupt is missed on a crucial spell.

One popular use in Mythic+ is tracking personal and group cooldowns in a visually clear way: you might have icons for your defensive cooldowns that glow when they’re available or when you drop below a certain health percentage (prompting you to use them). Another common WA is an interrupt tracker that shows icons for each party member’s next available interrupt and turns red if an important spell goes off without being interrupted. Essentially, if you think "I wish I had X information displayed differently", WeakAuras can probably do it. And the best part: it’s totally up to you what it shows, so it can be as simple or as detailed as you like!

Deadly Boss Mods / BigWigs

DBM - Download.

BigWigs - Download.

A good boss mod addon is absolutely crucial for tackling any PvE content, and Mythic+ is no exception. These addons provide timers, alerts, and warnings for boss abilities (and even some important trash mechanics), effectively acting as an on-screen raid leader calling out what’s happening. Both DBM and BigWigs achieve a similar goal in slightly different styles. DBM tends to be ready-to-go out of the box with spoken alerts, raid warnings like "Boss is casting Massive Smash – MOVE!", and timers bars for abilities. BigWigs is more modular and highly customizable, often preferred by players who like to tweak settings (it’s also by default a bit "quieter" with alerts, but you can configure it to be just as loud).

For Mythic+ dungeons, you’ll also want to install LittleWigs (if you choose BigWigs) or the appropriate DBM Dungeon module (DBM comes with dungeon support built-in in the main package these days). LittleWigs is basically BigWigs but for 5-man content – it will give you timers and alerts for each dungeon boss and even some dangerous trash casts.

These addons also often auto-mark targets for certain mechanics and can sync with other users so everyone gets the alert simultaneously. In Mythic+, where fights are shorter than raid bosses but can be hectic, having that advanced warning system is invaluable. Whether you prefer DBM’s plug-and-play approach or BigWigs flexibility (with LittleWigs adding dungeon support), make sure you have one:

Angry Keystones

Download.

The default Mythic+ UI in The War Within gives you a basic timer and enemy forces bar, but Angry Keystones supercharges that interface with lots of useful extras for keystone runners. This addon adds additional information to your objective tracker specifically for Mythic+ dungeons.

Key features include: a secondary timer for 2-chest/bonus completion time (in modern M+ terms, this can be used as a marker for an extra fast clear, although Blizzard no longer gives multiple chests, some groups set benchmarks for +2 upgraded time), an extended enemy forces display that can show the exact count of mobs or a more precise percentage (e.g., 247/300 enemies, or 82.3%). This precise tracking helps you plan pulls – you’ll know exactly how much count that last pack gave and how much more you need, rather than guessing with a vague bar.

Raider.IO Mythic Plus & Raiding

Download.

This addon doesn’t directly help you kill mobs faster or survive mechanics, but it’s hugely important in the Mythic+ community. The Raider.IO addon works in tandem with the Raider.IO website to display Mythic+ ratings and records in-game. If you have it installed, whenever you see a player (either in your party, guild, or especially the Group Finder applicant list), you can mouse over them and see their Mythic+ score, their highest key completions, and raid progress, all in the tooltip.

How is this useful? Well, if you’re a tank or leader forming a group, you likely want to pick teammates who have experience at the level of key you’re doing. Raider.IO addon has become the de facto way players gauge Mythic+ experience at a glance. Beyond just tooltips, the addon also adds your score next to your name in the in-game guild roster or friends list if you want, and shows scores in the Mythic+ UI for leaderboards. One underrated feature: if you ever wonder "what’s my score if I time this +14?", Raider.IO’s website can tell you, but the addon on its own is mostly about showing existing data, not projecting. In short, while Raider.IO addon doesn’t make you a better player inside the dungeon, it’s almost required socially.

Astral Keys

Download.

Ever spend an evening whispering friends or guildies “Hey, what key do you have?” or fumbling to remember which alt holds that +12 you wanted to run? Astral Keys takes the hassle out of keystone management by automatically keeping track of the keystones for you and your friends/guildmates who also have the addon. It creates a database (across your account) of every character’s current keystone level and dungeon. With a simple interface panel, you can see at a glance all the keys you and your circle has.

User Interface Addons

ElvUI - Download.

Bartender4 - Download.

OmniCC - Download.

While the above are focused on Mythic+ mechanics and coordination, it’s worth mentioning that a clean, user-friendly UI can greatly improve your overall performance in dungeons. Many players use UI packs or addons like ElvUI (a full UI replacement) or modular addons like Bartender4 (for customizable action bars) and MoveAnything (to move default UI elements) to tailor their interface. For example, moving your unit frames closer to the center, or enlarging the group frames, can help you keep eyes on health while also watching the action. Or hiding unnecessary clutter and making important things bigger – all possible with UI mods.

ElvUI isn’t available on CurseForge, but if you’re comfortable grabbing it from their website, it provides a very polished unified look and has built-in support for things like healing unit frames, action bars, and more. If not, try using Bartender4 to arrange your spells more ergonomically and OmniCC to add numerical countdowns on your cooldown icons – these are all small improvements that make a big difference in Mythic+.

The bottom line: customize your UI so that you can easily see what’s important and ignore what isn’t. The addons listed in this guide will add a lot of helpful elements; arranging them in a coherent way on your screen (with a UI mod or just careful configuration) will make your gameplay smoother.

Get Even Better At Your Class

In summary, addons are like your personalized support team: they keep you informed, warn you of danger, and help you optimize your performance. The Mythic+ veterans use them, and with the guide above, so can you. Install these recommended addons, update them regularly, and you’ll be ready to push higher keys with confidence.

But even the most well-configured addons can’t replace personal experience and a deep understanding of your spec. If you want to go beyond just following prompts and truly master all the intricacies of the game, our PRO-players are here to help. We’ll analyze your mistakes, teach you optimal rotations and strategies for Raids and Mythic+, and help you reach the next level so you can confidently push higher keys.
