First came the timer — then came the glory. Challenge Modes have always dangled rewards that whisper "you were there, and you were good". They’re the digital equivalents of a trophy wall: coveted cosmetics, shortcuts, and flex-worthy flourishes that only precision play can unlock.
With Mists of Pandaria Classic re-opening the gates on 21 July 2025, those prestige prizes are poised to shine again. The stopwatch is unforgiving, the routes demand perfection, and every split-second you shave off is a step closer to loot that’s as exclusive as it is timeless. Ready to turn seconds into status? Your victory lap starts here.
Challenge Modes grade your run in three tiers. Bronze recognises completion, Silver adds an extra layer of polish, and Gold unlocks the full reward set and useful perks. The higher the medal, the broader the spoils.
Secure a bronze-tier finish in all nine Mists of Pandaria Challenge Mode dungeons. That means pulling every pack cleanly, keeping deaths to a minimum, and beating each dungeon’s timer before the bronze window slams shut. Do it nine times in total (every MoP Classic Dungeon) and the meta-achievement Challenge Conqueror: Bronze will pop.
Moments after the achievement fires, an in-game letter arrives bearing the title "the Undaunted". Claim it once and every character on your account can wear the tag forever — a visible badge that says you’ve mastered the full roster under pressure, even if it was just the first rung on the medal ladder.
To achieve the Challenge Conqueror: Silver you shall beat the silver timer in every one of Mists of Pandaria Classic’s nine Challenge Mode dungeons. The window is noticeably tighter than bronze, so you’ll need sharper pulls, coordinated cooldowns, and almost-mistake-free boss kills.
But the spoils are well worth the tries as you'll receive an Ancestral Phoenix Egg by mail. Opening the egg lets you choose one of four colour variants of the Pandaren Phoenix mount (Crimson, Ashen, Emerald or Violet).
The mounts are not account-wide, so choose them wisely. Repeating nine silvers on another character grants an additional egg — so dedicated collectors can eventually claim the full quartet.
Achieving Gold is a big deal because the timers are tight (typically 10 – 17 minutes depending on the instance), leaving little margin for deaths, mis-pulls, or long boss phases. And because gear is down-scaled to item level 463, raw ilvl cannot carry you and your team; every second is shaved through route planning (skips, invisibility potions, double-pulls), perfect crowd control, and synchronized cooldown rotations. Complete a gold run in each dungeon and the meta-achievement Challenge Conqueror: Gold proudly fires.
An in-game mail then delivers a full armor ensemble unique to the class that earned the golds — Monk Crane Style gear, Paladin golden battlegear, etc. The set is appearance-locked to that class but account-wide for every alt of the same class. Its visuals are exclusive to Challenge Modes and will become a Feat of Strength once the expansion ends, meaning no future opportunity to obtain it!
Take a look at every transmog set for each class (by hovering over their resperctive names):
Warrior: Warrior tier tier set
Warlock: Warlock tier tier set
Shaman: Shaman tier tier set
Rogue: Rogue tier tier set
Priest: Priest tier tier set
Paladin: Paladin tier tier set
Monk: Monk tier tier set
Mage: Mage tier tier set
Hunter: Hunter tier tier set
Druid: Druid tier tier set
Death Knight: Death Knight tier tier set
Each individual Gold finish also teaches a separate spell that ports the character to that dungeon’s entrance on a 60-minute cooldown. Finish all nine dungeons at gold and you end the season with a personal teleport network spanning all MoP 5-mans, ideal for future farming, mount hunting, or quick travel for upcoming "Celestial" Dungeons.
Chasing those gold timers isn’t just about flaunting rare titles, exotic mounts, and one-of-a-kind transmog sets — it’s also a high-octane Valor Points factory. Every medalized clear drops a solid bundle of VP, and the daily Challenge quest stacks even more on top! In other words, each perfectly executed pull moves you closer to both cosmetic glory and a well-padded currency stash for gear upgrades.
Strap in: speed, style, and steady Valor all roll out of the same stopwatch.

When your team posts the single fastest run on the entire realm for a given Challenge Mode dungeon, the game immediately awards everyone in the party the Feat-of-Strength achievement Challenge Master: [Dungeon].
Alongside the achievement comes a bespoke title — one themed to that specific instance — that you can brandish for as long as your record holds the top spot. Think of it as a living trophy: the moment another group shaves even a fraction of a second off your time, the title vanishes from your character list and migrates to the new champions. Until that happens, though, every login, zone entry, and chat message broadcasts your realm-best status, turning a single flawless run into an ongoing badge of honor.
Dungeon | Title Granted |
---|---|
Temple of the Jade Serpent | "Jade Protector" |
Stormstout Brewery | "Stormbrewer" |
Shado-Pan Monastery | "Purified Defender" |
Gate of the Setting Sun | "Defender of the Wall" |
Mogu’shan Palace | "Mogu-Slayer" |
Siege of Niuzao Temple | "Siegebreaker" |
Scarlet Halls | "Flameweaver" |
Scarlet Monastery | "Scarlet Commander" |
Scholomance | "Darkmaster" |
Earning just one of the realm-best Feats of Strength automatically triggers the meta-achievement Mistwalker. That in turn unlocks the timeless title Mistwalker, a keepsake that stays on your account forever — even if another team eventually knocks your dungeon record off the leaderboard.
While we’re unlikely to land you a realm-best title as those runs demand an outright esports-level performance from every party member — we can make you strong enough in Challenge Modes for you (or your friends) to crack the upper tiers of the leaderboards.
