Before obtaining Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings, players of the Druid, Monk, Paladin, Priest, or Shaman classes, who are at least level 45, need to collect x30 Fragments of Val'anyr from bosses within the Ulduar raid. It's important to note that fragments are not guaranteed to drop from every boss, but the chances can be increased by engaging in hardmode encounters (excluding Ignis, Razorscale, and Auriaya).
Once all 30 fragments have been obtained, players must assemble them into Shattered Fragments of Val'anyr and embark on the quest Ancient History. The next step is to transport the fragments to the archivum, located at the back of the Iron Council room in Ulduar. At the archivum, players will receive the quest Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings.
