Time Rifts are the main source of Paracausal Flakes currency, a new currency added in Patch 10.1.5, used to purchase many cosmetic items such as pets, transmogs and mounts. In addition to this, gear upgradeable to ilvl 424 is available to alts that participate in Time Rifts, making this event a good source of starter gear for that new alt you've been looking to play with.
Time Rift events start every hour at the top of the hour, and you can check how long for a Time Rift to spawn by checking the Thaldraszus minimap. To participate in a Time Rift event, all you need to do is head to the area and once the event begins, talk to Soridormi to start it. Once a Time Rift opens, you are able to speak with Soridormi in the Tyrhold Reservoir to start completing tasks. Time Rift events last for 15 minutes with two phases: A cleaning phase that lasts 10 minutes, and a portal to an alternate timeline that remains open for 5 minutes.
On the first 10 minutes of a Time Rift, players will be tasked by Soridormi to help cleanse our current timeline. Players are offered a variety of tasks not unlike other open-world events like the Community Feast and Researchers Under Fire. These events can include tasks such as defeating as many enemies as you can in a minute, completing minigames, defeating named enemies, or collecting items around the Tyrhold Reservoir.
As of note, the usual mission given by players in the last minute or so of a Time Rift will be to simply kill any remaining enemies in Tyrhold Reservoir.
As you complete tasks in Phase 1 of Time Rifts, you will earn Paracausal Flakes, which can be used to purchase items from vendors at the Reservoir, as well as reputation with Soridormi. In addition to this, whenever players complete tasks, they obtain Temporal Essence. As players obtain Temporal Essence, they unlock additional rewards from Phase 1 of Time Rifts:
Once Phase 1 of a Time Rift event ends, a portal to an alternate reality will open at the center of Tyrhold Reservoir, and you have 5 minutes to enter this portal, which will bring you to an alternate timeline. There are seven different timelines players can enter, and it is always one of the two timelines given in the map marker:
Once in an alternate timeline, you must face a Fractured Causality, which will morph into a NPC for that timeline, a difficult task for a solo player. Killing the boss of that timeline grants a large amount of Paracausal Flakes, reputation with Soridormi, and a chance to drop items such as cosmetics, ilvl 402 Veteran 1/8 gear and more.
During Time Rift events, you will have the opportunity to obtain a brand-new Paracausal Flakes currency. These valuable flakes can be used as a currency to acquire event-related rewards, similar to how Essence of the Storm functioned as a trade-in during the previous Primal Storm events in Dragonflight. Paracausal Flakes hold great versatility, as they can be exchanged for various items.
Transmogs, mounts, and pets are rewards related to each parallel Azeroth realm. Most models of these rewards are recolored versions from previous World of Warcraft expansions.
The 402 ilvl trinkets you can buy for Paracausal Flakes are Veteran Gear and can be upgraded to 424 ilvl. Eight trinkets in total are sold from the Time Rift vendors. All in all, out of these eight trinkets, there are two healing Trinkets, three trinkets that are for all characters, meaning all three trinkets got strength/agility/intellect on them with a player power, two of which are for melee. If you know your math, that equals seven trinkets, and that is because the one sold by the Warlands vendor will see either a horde trinket or an alliance trinket, but they do the same thing.
Rewards | Paracausal Flakes Cost |
Mounts | 3000 Paracausal Flakes |
Pets | 2750 Paracausal Flakes |
Transmog Ensembles | 2500 Paracausal Flakes |
Tabards | 1500 Paracausal Flakes |
Transmog armor pieces and weapons | 1000 - 1750 Paracausal Flakes |
Trinkets | 1750 Paracausal Flakes |
As you can see, you will need to finish a lot of Time Rifts events to get Paracausal Flakes for all of the mounts, pets, transmog, and other rewards, not to mention catch-up trinkets that are essential for gearing and preparing for future content. Don't waste any more time waiting for Time Rifts timers. Buy ConquestCapped Time Rifts Boost and get Time Rifts events completed ASAP!
