Just like in Legion, to unlock new BfA allied races you would need to complete a series of long quests in specific expansion zones.
Every allied race has its own unique mounts, tabards, transmogrification sets, emotes and so on. You could obtain any of Allied Races mounts as soon as you have unlocked it. After you have any of these mounts you could use them by characters of other races.
Warfronts are one of the Battle for Azeroth main expansion features. Darkshore and Arathi Highlands Warfronts allow Horde and Alliance players to contribute in many ways to their faction for control of the zone. You could get many cool rewards such as pets, toys and, yes, cool and unique BfA mounts!
You could obtain most of the mounts after your faction controls one of two (or both at once) warfronts. Immediately after that, you could go there through a special portal and start farming mounts. For example, you could get Ashenvale Chimaera and Blackpaw from Darkshore or Lil' Donkey and Swift Albino Raptor from Arathi Highlands.
You could get even more cool mounts such as Bloodthirsty Dreadwing or Priestess' Moonsaber with 7th Legion Service Medal / Honorbound Service Medal special currency that you could farm on Warfront.
Island Expeditions are special 3-player scenarios introduced in BfA. The goal of this expansion feature is to obtain Azerite found on uncharted islands. When you have gathered enough Azerite and did it faster than an NPC-enemy team, you will win and gain worthy rewards such as mounts, pets, and transmog items. Some rewards can be randomly obtained from a special container awarded at the end of Island Expedition, others can be bought with Island Expedition currency.
You need to farm really hard to get any of these mounts, because their drop chance varies between lowest numbers. For example, Squawks mount has only 5% drop chance and the Surf Jelly mount has approximately 2% drop chance. Keep in mind that special container drop is random, so there is no guarantee that you would obtain any of these mounts after successfully completing expeditions.
Seafarer's Dubloon is special currency that randomly drops after you have completed an expedition. For this currency you could buy a lot of cool collectibles and mounts too! For example, you could obtain Siltwing Albatross for 1000 Seafarer's Dubloon and Saltwater Seahorse for 500 Seafarer's Dubloon.
Horrific Visions of N'zoth is another important and grindy BfA feature that is filled with interesting collectible rewards. This feature allows players to enter a vision of what Orgrimmar and Stormwind would look like in a world where N'zoth has won and corrupted Azeroth. These scenarios can be completed in a group of up to 5 players or done solo. Horrific Visions require players to kill as many enemies as possible before all their Sanity drains. For successfully completing these scenarios, you will receive special currency as a reward. For this currency, you could buy many interesting cosmetics including Horrific Visions mounts. Other featured mounts could be obtained by earning achievements or by killing rare NPCs.
To obtain Wicked Swarmer you need to farm 100,000 Corrupted Mementos special currency for completing Horrific Visions scenario. For completing Through the Depths of Visions hardcore meta-achievement you would obtain Black Serpent of N'Zoth mount. This meta-achievement could take even more of your time, not to mention that you will need to run the same scenarios for weeks, if not months.
Some of the featured mounts could be obtained after slaying rare NPC inside special zones of Horrific Vision scenarios. For example Malevolent Drone, Ivory Cloud Serpent and one of the hardest to obtain Mail Muncher as well as many other mounts!
Some of BfA dungeons and raids are related to war between the Alliance and the Horde, but most of them are telling stories about new allied races and war against the Old Gods servants.
From BfA raids you could obtain unique and extremely rare mounts. You could obtain Glacial Tidestorm mount from Lady Jaina Proudmoore, Abyss Worm could be obtained from High Tinker Mekkatorque with pretty low drop chance, Ny'alotha Allseer from almighty N'Zoth the Corruptor boss.
BfA dungeons could provide you with mounts too. For example, you could obtain Sharkbait's Favorite Crackers mount from Harlan Sweete with 0.5% drop chance, Mechagon Peacekeeper mount from HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit with 0,4%drop chance, Mummified Raptor Skull mount from King Dazar boss.
As you could notice, most of these mounts have pretty low drop chance and to obtain them you will need to spend a lot of your time on a very boring and tedious farm. Alternatively, you could buy our Black Market Mounts boost and get these mounts faster and easier.

Mounts of this category are obtained for completing glory-achievements in the BfA PvE segment. You have to go through dungeons or raids and complete certain conditions to get these achievements with cool mounts as reward!
You could obtain many cool and rare mounts in almost every BfA zone. As for world drop mounts, almost every one of them is obtained from world bosses or rare NPCs.
Ironclad Frostclaw / Bloodflank Charger are mounts that could be obtained after you have completed BfA War Campaign. This means that you need to complete Two Sides to Every Tale meta-achievement to obtain this mounts. You also could get Scrapforged Mechaspider mount through a long Drive It Away Today quest chain.
You could obtain Child of Torcali and Kua'fon's Harness mounts while progressing through long and boring quest chains. The Shadowbarb Drone mount could be obtained only after 30 days-long quest chain.
While performing boring and monotonous daily quests in Deepcoral Snapdragon / Snapdragon Kelpstalker.
BfA has many cool reputation mounts to offer. Most of them are faction-restricted. Just like in the Legion expansion, in BfA you will farm reputation via world quest most of the time and you could farm reputation after Exalted status with the Paragon mechanic.
After you have hit Exalted with Order of Embers you could obtain Reins of the Dusky Waycrest Gryphon and Reins of the Smoky Charger mounts. Horde faction of Talanji's Expedition could provide you with Reins of the Expedition Bloodswarmer and Reins of the Captured Swampstalker mounts.
Unique and rare Honeyback Harvester's Harness will not only require you to complete a lot of quests, but also hit Exalted with Honeyback Hive that you need to unlock first.
After you have hit Exalted with Uldum Accord you could get Wastewander Skyterror mount, and from Rustbolt Resistance faction you could obtain Rustbolt Resistor after you have gained Exalted status with them.
