Invincible, Arthas’s undead steed, is a rare flying mount that drops from the Lich King in Icecrown Citadel. It only drops on 25-player Heroic difficulty, with less than a 1% chance per kill!
Obtaining Invincible awards players with a Feat of Strength achievement, a cool looking mount (obviously) and serious bragging rights amongst mount collectors. So stay tuned as we share with a step-by-step guide so you can get this precious beast "fast" and easy.
Some players will get lucky and get the mount within a few attempts, while others may not see it even after running the raid for years. Icecrown Citadel can be farmed once per week per character. You can have several characters parked outside the raid and run it several times a week, but this is more likely to give you burnout than a mount.
What makes farming Invincible even more tedious is that you can't just fight the Lich King — you have to clear every boss leading up to him. Back in 2010, this took a full raid of skilled, dedicated players. Now? You can solo the entire place. Let’s break it down:
Defeat all of the Lich King’s lieutenants and ascend to the top of Icecrown Citadel — or skip the weekly grind entirely by letting our team handle it for you.
You've finally arrived at your destination (though this moment might repeat hundreds of times depending on your luck). Now it’s time to take down Arthas Menethil himself — a boss who hasn’t posed a real threat for over 15 years, either in World of Warcraft’s lore or gameplay. Still, you can speed things up by following these guidelines:
Repeat Weekly: You can run ICC 25 Heroic once a week for a tiny chance to receive Invincible.
If you're really eager to get the mount you can also consider more tricky ways of getting it:
Timewalking Bonus Cache: During Wrath Timewalking events, check if there is a weekly Timewalking Ulduar Raid quest. In past events, the quest "Disturbance Detected: Ulduar" awarded a Cache of Timewarped Treasures that has a chance to contain Invincible’s Reins (and also Mimiron’s Head). Players have reported higher drop rates from this cache than from the raid itself! So when Wrath Timewalking is up, be sure to run Ulduar Timewalking on as many characters as possible for extra shots at Invincible.
Black Market Auction House: Invincible’s Reins can occasionally appear for auction on the BMAH. In most cases even the starting price is around 2-3 million gold and the final one can reach up to 10-15 million gold! Don't be shocked though, as the mount is truly unique and elite. You can find the BMAH in various spots (e.g. Ta’xera in Revendreth in Shadowlands, or Valdrakken’s Night Market in Dragonflight). If you’re extremely rich in gold, this is a way to buy Invincible – but expect an enormous competition of people checking the BMAH all day long.
ConquestCapped is renowned for top tier boosts across a wide range of games — but when it comes to farming the rarest, most prestigious mounts in World of Warcraft, that's our true calling.
