Honeyback Harvester Mount Guide

Updated 10 Nov 2025 | Author: Invord | ~7 min

The Honeyback Harvester is a magnificent giant bee mount that represents one of the most unique and charming creature designs in World of Warcraft. This buzzing beauty isn't just a mount—it's the culmination of an extraordinary journey nurturing your very own bee companion from infancy to adulthood.

What makes the Honeyback Harvester truly special is its heartwarming acquisition story. Unlike traditional faction grinds, this one involves raising your personal Nascent Harvester through daily care, jelly donations, and building a bond that eventually rewards you with a loyal flying companion for life.

  • Added in patch: 8.2.5 "Rise of Azshara"
  • Type: Flying
  • Source: Reputation
  • Requirements: Level 50, Only Alliance
  • Repeat attempts: Daily reputation farming

How to Get Honeyback Harvester

Honeyback Harvester

The journey to obtaining the Honeyback Harvester is one of WoW's most unique mount acquisition stories. It begins with establishing relationships with bee companions and culminates in raising your own Nascent Harvester to maturity through daily care and dedication.

This isn't a simple vendor purchase—it's the reward for nurturing a bond with your bee companion over weeks of consistent attention and care. The process transforms daily reputation grinding into a meaningful narrative of friendship and growth.

Don't have time for daily bee care? Our team can nurture your Nascent Harvester to maturity with our Honeyback Harvester service, handling the daily routine while you enjoy the final reward.

Starting Your Bee Friendship Journey

To begin your path to the Honeyback Harvester, you must first obtain one of the two battle pets that serve as your introduction to the bee colony and unlock access to the reputation system.

Initial requirements:

  • Character level 50+ (originally 120 in BfA)
  • Access to Kul Tiras (completed introductory quests)
  • Flight unlocked in Kul Tiras for efficient travel
  • One of the two battle pets: Bumbles and Seabreeze Bumblebee

Obtaining the Required Bee Pets

Before you can begin raising your Nascent Harvester, you must acquire specific battle pets that serve as your introduction to the bee colony.

Bumbles: This friendly bee pet is obtained by completing a quest chain. To obtain this pet, you first need to complete several quests. Start by taking Mayhem at Mildenhall Meadery from Ancel Mildenhall east of Brennadam in Stormsong Valley. This quest chain consists of 13 quests and concludes with Back to the Lab. Make sure to complete all of them! During this quest chain, Ancel Mildenhall will give you the quest Bumbles the Bee which you need to complete. It's very short - you simply need to pick up an item from a table inside the cave.

You can now accept the daily quest Let's Bee Friends which needs to be completed 7 times over 7 days. Don't worry if you miss a few days - your progress won't reset. After completing all quests, you'll earn the Let's Bee Friends achievement and the Bumbles pet! It usually goes directly into your inventory upon earning the achievement, but if not, check your mailbox!

The fastest way to start farming for your Honeyback Harvester is to simply buy the Seabreeze Bumblebee off of the auction house.

Once you have either Bumbles or Seabreeze Bumblebee in your pet collection, you can properly begin the Honeyback Hive reputation journey and start caring for your Nascent Harvester.

Finding Barry and the Honeyback Hive

Once you have Bumbles, you need to find Barry He's located near the Mildenhall Meadery flightpath, covered in bees.

Go to the Mildenhall Meadery flightpath at /way Stormsong Valley 69.26, 64.18 to find Barry. Bring out Bumbles or the Seabreeze Bumblebee. Once either is summoned, Barry notes that there's a new hive in town! He suggests your bee may be able to lead you to their nest.

From Barry, follow the general direction of the pheromones (green gassy clouds) to the Honeyback Hive. Note you don't have to stand in these clouds, or directly follow them. You can skip straight to the hive by flying - the hive location is at /way Stormsong Valley 62.93, 26.58.

Once reaching the hive, there is a small dialogue between Barry and the Honeyback Hivemother, who comes out to defend her nest! Important: Don't enter the hive yet, or you'll get teleported away and receive "Many Painful Stings."

Gaining the Hivemother's Trust

Barry thinks if you can find something to appease the Hivemother, she will be friendly toward you. Locate a Thin Jelly nearby at /way Stormsong Valley 63.20, 28.44.

When you have found the Thin Jelly, try to give it to the Honeyback Hivemother. She's still not happy! Speak to Barry again. Barry will attempt to communicate with the bee through dance and simple words. Somehow, he gets through. Now, you can follow him inside.

Ensure to talk to Barry again, select his dialogue options, then feed your first Jelly to the Nascent Harvester, which is in the honey pool in front of him. This gives you your first 20 reputation, allowing you to now see Jelly Deposits and earn reputation.

Earning Reputation and Collecting Jellies

Earning reputation is a simple but time-consuming system. Collect various jellies from deposits around Stormsong Valley and hand them to the bees for reputation. As you progress, you'll unlock access to "better bees" that you can gain friendship with. To obtain the mount, you will need Exalted reputation with both the Honeyback Hive faction and the highest bee, Mature Honeyback Harvester.

Jelly Types and Reputation Values

How to Earn Reputation - Strategy

Essential Preparation: Ensure to have addons like Paste and TomTom or similar location waypoint tracking addon for efficient farming.

  • Kill Daily: Honey Smasher gives 500 reputation with Honeyback Hive upon killing him and a chance to obtain Jelly. He also drops cosmetic items such as a pet, and items to dress up your bee pets. You can kill Honey Smasher once per day with a short respawn timer.
  • Honeyback Harvester Events: These are found in multiple locations throughout Stormsong Valley. You can do Honeyback Harvester events multiple times per day.
  • Search for Jelly Deposits: Turn 'Ground Clutter' to 1 under System Settings to help you see the Jelly Deposits more clearly. Use group finder to phase hop if your phase is too crowded. Monel-Hardened Stirrups allows you to loot while mounted for maximum efficiency.
  • Auction House Method: You can purchase all types of Jelly on the Auction House if you're looking to speed up the process significantly.
  • Feed Jelly to Progress: You progressively raise reputation with Honeyback Harvester, from Nascent Harvester to Mature Harvester, raising it to eventually leave the hive with you.

Essential Items for Efficient Farming

Obtain the Beeholder's Goggles as soon as possible - they will help greatly with efficiency by highlighting jelly deposits. You could also buy Alluring Bloom, however you'll often end up back at the hive regardless, especially if you have flying. Use all other Thin Jelly on reputation to maximize your daily gains.

Short on gold for Auction House jellies or essential items? We offer secure gold acquisition services to help you speed up your Honeyback Harvester journey.

Maximizing Your Farming Efficiency

The Honeyback Harvester grind is one of the most time-consuming reputation mounts in the game. Implementing smart strategies can cut your farming time significantly.

Optimal Daily Routine

  1. Start by killing Honey Smasher for 500 guaranteed reputation
  2. Complete any available Honeyback Harvester events
  3. Farm jelly deposits using your Beeholder's Goggles
  4. Return to the hive to feed your collected jellies
  5. Check the Auction House for affordable jellies to supplement your farming

Essential Addons for Bee Farming

  • TomTom or Similar: Essential for waypoint navigation to jelly deposits and event locations
  • HandyNotes with Honeyback Hive plugin: Shows all jelly deposit locations on your map
  • Rarity: Tracks your progress and estimates time to completion
  • SavedInstances: Helps track your daily lockouts across multiple characters

These tools provide valuable organization and efficiency during what can be a lengthy and repetitive farming process.
