Legendary Cloak Walkthrough

This walkthrough is your road map from first meeting Wrathion to wearing your Legendary cloak. It follows the questline exactly as it plays in MoP Classic, with clear requirements, drop sources, and realistic timelines so you know what to farm, when to raid, and how to avoid dead weeks.

How the journey is structured: the story unfolds across five chapters tied to Classic phases. You begin by proving yourself to the Black Prince and gathering early raid drops; then add a prismatic socket; hunt rarer items in Throne of Thunder and unlock the legendary meta-gem; face the Celestial solo trial to claim an item-level 600 epic cloak; finally, finish on the Timeless Isle to upgrade it into a true Legendary and unlock Ordos access.

What you'll get here: step-by-step tasks for each chapter, efficient routing for weekly lockouts, prep checklists (reputation, currencies, raid bosses), and small tips that matter in practice — when to queue, what to track, and which pitfalls waste time. Read on, follow the chapters in order, and you'll cross the finish line with the right cloak for your spec and a smooth path to the Legendary upgrade.

Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince

Available Now

Chapter 1: Trial of the Black Prince

Your journey begins the moment you hit level 90 in Pandaria. An introductory quest Stranger in a Strange Land will direct you to meet Wrathion, if it hasn't found you automatically. Alliance players typically encounter Brewmaster Tsu at the Shrine of Seven Stars (/way #1530 87.4 68.0), and Horde players meet Kurong Caskhead at the Shrine of Two Moons (/way #1530 62.2 13.2) - these NPCs send you on to Wrathion's hideout in the Tavern in the Mists. Upon meeting Wrathion, a follow-up quest A Legend in the Making has you simply listen to the Black Prince as he shares a vision of Azeroth's future. This cinematic moment sets the tone: Wrathion is preparing you for threats greater than the Alliance-Horde conflict.

Next comes Trial of the Black Prince Wrathion tasks you with proving yourself by gaining Honored reputation with him (The Black Prince). At this stage, Wrathion's rep is earned by slaughtering certain level 90 enemies across Pandaria. The most efficient method is farming Mogu and Mantid mobs - for example, the Shan'ze Dao island in Townlong Steppes or clusters of mantid in the Dread Wastes are popular grind spots. This is a straightforward if monotonous grind as every kill yields a bit of rep, so expect to slay dozens if not hundreds of enemies (tip: try to combine this grind with daily quests or rare mob farming in those zones to make it more productive, and consider using any reputation buffs available like the Battle Standard of Coordination.)

With Honored achieved, Wrathion's next trial tests your mettle in Pandaria's first raids. The Strength of One's Foes requires collecting a total of 20 Sigils from raid bosses in Tier 14 content. Specifically, you must gather 10 Sigils of Power and 10 Sigils of Wisdom, which drop from the bosses of Mogu'shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, and Terrace of Endless Spring. Any boss on any difficulty can drop a Sigil, and each boss kill has a chance to yield one (in MoP Classic, this includes Normal and Heroic raids, and the final bosses of new Celestial Dungeons). Because drop rates are limited, you'll likely need multiple weeks of clears to get all 20 sigils. Prioritize doing a full clear of all three raids each week to maximize your chances - every boss can potentially drop a Sigil of either type, regardless of raid size. It's an RNG-driven scavenger hunt, so patience is key here.

Fastest Method: The quickest and most efficient way to farm Sigils in MoP Classic is to use the Celestial Dungeons via the LFG system. Defeating the final boss of a Celestial Dungeon has a chance to award a Sigil directly, and these runs are typically much faster than full raid clears.

Each Celestial Dungeon run also grants August Stone Fragments (August Stone Shard x1 = August Stone Fragmentsx2). You can exchange 60 Fragments for either a Sigil of Power or a Sigil of Wisdom at Avatar of the August Celestials. This lets you specifically target whichever Sigil type you are missing, greatly speeding up progress.

Once you've collected 10 Sigils of Power and 10 Sigils of Wisdom, Wrathion sends you after one specific foe: the Sha of Fear. The quest Fear Itself directs you to defeat the final boss of the Terrace of Endless Spring raid and loot the Chimera of Fear, a quest item that only Sha of Fear drops. You can kill Sha of Fear on any available difficulty. Turn in the Chimera of Fear to Wrathion, and he will reward you mightily.

Prefer not to raid or lack a raid group? Wrathion also offers an alternate path via When in Doubt - defeat the Sha of Doubt on Celestial difficulty in the Temple of the Jade Serpent to acquire the Chimera of Doubt. This item is fully equivalent to the Chimera of Fear, so either reward will satisfy Wrathion's requirement.

The follow-up Breath of the Black Prince is just a dialogue turn-in where Wrathion grants you your choice of a Legendary Gem. These gems: Crystallized Dread, Crystallized Terror, or Crystallized Horror provide +500 to a primary stat when socketed into certain weapons. They fit only in Sha-touched weapon sockets found on specific drops from Tier 14 raids. If you have obtained a Sha-touched weapon from those raids, be sure to slot your new legendary gem into it for a massive performance boost.

Completing this quest awards the achievement Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince, marking the end of Chapter 1. You've taken your first steps toward the legendary cloak!

Chapter I Rewards

Chapter one "Trial of the Black Prince" wraps with a Sha-Touched gem reward — a special socketable stone for Sha-Touched weapons from early Pandaria raids (or later from Celestial Dungeons). Pick the stat you need and push your performance right away.

Sha-Touched weapons drop in Terrace of Endless Spring and Heart of Fear - item level 496 on Normal and 509 on Heroic, and they also begin appearing from final bosses in Celestial Dungeons. Alternatively, you can purchase a 483 ilvl Sha-Touched weapon from the Avatar of the August Celestials (August Stone Fragment Exchange) for August Stone Fragments.

Chapter II: Wrathion's War

Available Now

MoP Phase II: Wrathion's War

With a Sha-touched gem in hand, your attention turns to the brewing war in Pandaria. Chapter II begins when Phase 2 (patch 5.5.2) goes live on your realm. After finishing Chapter I, Wrathion will offer Incoming..., which asks you to meet him once your faction's fleet has landed in Krasarang Wilds. Travel to your faction base in Krasarang to continue with The Measure of a Leader and listen to Wrathion's brief monologue.

To trigger the fleet's arrival, complete the short Landfall intro chain for your faction:

After you complete Lion's Landing or Domination Point, the fleet has officially arrived. Incoming... is now completable, and you can turn it in to Wrathion at your faction base in Krasarang to proceed with Chapter II.

Now Wrathion truly puts you to work. Two parallel quests must be completed next: The Prince's Pursuit and A Test of Valor. The Prince's Pursuit requires reaching Revered reputation with The Black Prince. Since you ended Chapter I at Honored, you'll need to grind the next rep tier. As of Phase 2 (patch 5.5.2), the fastest way to do this is by killing opposing faction NPCs in the Krasarang Wilds warzone — guards, officers, commanders, and other marked targets around Lion's Landing or Domination Point.

Slaying these foes (including enemy players if you prefer) awards Black Prince reputation. It can be competitive, so grouping up or farming during off-hours helps. Meanwhile, A Test of Valor requires earning 1,600 Valor after accepting the quest. Only Valor gained from that moment onward counts — but unlike the original release, there is no weekly cap in MoP Classic, meaning you can complete this requirement in a single day by running dungeons, scenarios, rares, and raids.

To track your progress on this step, open your Achievements panel, navigate to Quests - Pandaria, and locate the achievement A Test of Valor. This section shows the exact amount of Valor Points credited toward the requirement.

Exchanging 1xAugust Stone Fragment for 10xValor Points does not count toward the achievement. Only Valor Points earned directly through gameplay activities are tracked.

Once you reach Revered with Wrathion and earn 1,600 Valor, he'll acknowledge your dedication. Now comes the active combat part of Chapter II. From here, your storyline follows your faction's campaign: Alliance players join Operation: Shieldwall, while Horde players take part in the Dominance Offensive. Though the banners differ, the structure is the same — both campaigns progress through mission steps that ultimately return you to Wrathion's side, where the chapter concludes and the next one begins.

Alliance

As an Alliance hero, Wrathion's war involves demonstrating the Alliance's valor on the battlefield and eliminating a key Horde target. After hitting Revered and completing the Valor grind, you undertake The Lion Roars, which requires victories in the two new battlegrounds from MoP: Temple of Kotmogu and Silvershard Mines. Securing wins in these BGs can be done through the random battleground finder or by queueing specifically: bring friends or a pre-made group if possible, to improve your odds of victory.

Once you've notched both wins, your next mission is A Change of Command. Fly to Dominance Point in southern Krasarang Wilds, where Warlord Bloodhilt (a hulking Kor'kron Orc) commands Horde forces. Bloodhilt won't go down without a fight: he is designed as a group encounter and is too much for a lone player. Bloodhilt's abilities include a severe bleed and a channeled stun on healers - so have DPS ready to interrupt. Also, keep everyone close to the boss to avoid his charge attacks. With a competent tank and healer, a group of 3-5 players can bring him down. After the Warlord falls, return to Wrathion at Lion's Landing. He will congratulate you with Call of the Packmaster, a simple turn-in in which he awards you the Eye of the Black Prince - the prismatic socket item. Use it on a qualifying weapon of your choice to immediately boost its power with an extra gem. This completes the Alliance side of Chapter II; you are now armed with a gemmed weapon and ready for the dangers ahead.

Horde

For Horde adventurers, Chapter II's finale similarly tests your PvP prowess and assassination skills. Glory to the Horde is your version of Wrathion's battleground challenge, requiring a win in Temple of Kotmogu and a win in Silvershard Mines. Fight hard in these BGs (focus on objectives - holding orbs in Kotmogu, and cart control in Silvershard) to secure victory. Once you have prevailed in both, Wrathion's orders escalate to A Change of Command. You must strike at the heart of the Alliance beachhead, Lion's Landing, and defeat High Marshal Twinbraid.

High Marshal Twinbraid, a grizzled dwarf commander, is found on the upper floor of the Alliance fort there. He's fortified and will not solo easily - assemble a small task force of Horde players with the same quest. During the fight, interrupt Twinbraid's attempts to call reinforcements and dodge his lethal spinning cannonblade attack by moving out of range. Ensure only the tank stays in front of him to eat his Chaingun bursts. Much like Bloodhilt, Twinbraid is manageable with a handful of players if mechanics are respected. Once he lies dead, return to Wrathion at Dominance Point. Wrathion will give you The Soul of the Horde, a finale quest turn-in awarding the Eye of the Black Prince socket item. With that reward claimed, the Horde Chapter II is complete - you've earned Wrathion's approval and the Chapter II achievement, and can prepare for the challenges of the Thunder King's island.

Chapter II Rewards

In Chapter two "Wrathion's War" you receive the Eye of the Black Prince — an upgrade that adds a prismatic socket to a Sha-Touched weapon or an Armament of the Thunder King. It's a straight item-level gain with flexible gemming for any spec.

Chapter III: Two Princes

Available Now

MoP Phase 3: Two Princes

As the war between Alliance and Horde rages on, Wrathion turns his gaze to a greater threat: the resurrected Thunder King and the treasures of the ancient mogu empire. Chapter III unfolds with the launch of the Throne of Thunder phase in MoP Classic, and this chapter can now be progressed through both raid clears and Celestial Dungeons. Wrathion will mail or offer you breadcrumb quests The Thunder King and Meet Me Upstairs. These simply direct you back to Wrathion's side to kick off the next leg of the questline. Speak with him to get things started.

The first major task is Secrets of the First Empire. Wrathion asks you to collect 20 Secrets of the Empire and bring him 40 Trillium Bars. In MoP Classic, Secrets of the Empire are not tied only to Throne of Thunder lockouts. They can also drop from Celestial Dungeon end bosses, and you can buy them with August Stone Shards. Each Secret costs 10 Shards, so if RNG is not kind or you want a cleaner progression route, you can farm Celestial Dungeons, collect Shards, and fill the remaining Secrets through the vendor instead of waiting on raid lockouts. The 40 Trillium Bars requirement remains unchanged, so you still need to prepare those separately through the Auction House, mining, or alts.

In parallel, Wrathion presents I Need a Champion. This quest requires you to earn Exalted with The Black Prince. You likely reached Revered in Chapter II, so it's one more reputation tier to go. Conveniently, by Phase 3 Wrathion's interests shift to the Isle of Thunder. You can gain rep by killing mogu, Zandalari, and saurok enemies on the Isle itself. As you unlock the Isle's stages through daily quests or just roam the island, slay as many Zandalari trolls and Thunder King's minions as you can. They give Black Prince rep up to Exalted, making this grind more straightforward once the island opens up.

After turning in both the 20 Secrets of the Empire and reaching Exalted, Wrathion invites you to a special test. He offers The Thunder Forge, a solo scenario quest. You'll need to defend him through multiple waves of enemies. This is a one-player challenge, just you and your class abilities. Expect to face a gauntlet of mogu adversaries attacking in waves while Wrathion works. Survive, use defensives wisely, and keep NPCs alive. The scenario is manageable once you understand the pacing, but some classes may still need a retry or two because later waves hit harder than the opening ones. After successfully completing the Thunder Forge scenario, you'll emerge with a forged weapon, the Lightning Lance.

Wrathion's next quest puts that lance to use immediately. Spirit of the Storm Lord asks you to take the Lightning Lance and strike it into Nalak, the Storm Lord, the cloud serpent world boss that patrols outside the Throne of Thunder entrance. To do this step, you must progress the Isle of Thunder campaign far enough to unlock the Foot of Lei Shen and open access to Nalak's area. This quest does not require a full Nalak kill. You only need to use the lance, trigger the event, and survive long enough for the quest credit to register. This can be done solo: a practical approach is to pull Nalak toward the defenders near the entrance, throw the lance, then keep moving while using defensives to survive the storm damage. After the throw, an add will fixate on you, so the goal is to kite it and stay alive until Nalak resets and the quest completes.

Now Wrathion offers The Crown of Heaven. This is a simple but rewarding step: speak to Wrathion at the Tavern in the Mists and he will allow you to choose one of four Legendary meta-gems. These legendary meta-gems are extremely potent gems for your head slot, far stronger than normal metas. The options are: Capacitive Primal Diamond, Sinister Primal Diamond, Courageous Primal Diamond, and Indomitable Primal Diamond. Pick the one that matches your main spec and socket it into any helmet of item level 502 or higher. This is one of the biggest power spikes in the entire legendary chain, and it remains one of the most valuable rewards in Phase 3.

At this point, Chapter III presents one more collection hurdle before its finale. Wrathion gives Echoes of the Titans, asking for 12 Titan Runestone. This step can also be progressed through Celestial Dungeons. Titan Runestone has a chance to drop from Celestial Dungeon end bosses, and each one can also be purchased for 30 August Stone Shards. That means you can progress the quest through dungeon farming and vendor purchases instead of relying only on the later Throne of Thunder bosses. Once your 12 Runestones are finished, the chapter's last turn-in item is the Heart of the Thunder King. In MoP Classic, this item can also be purchased for 70 August Stone Shards, so Chapter III no longer forces you into a strict weekly Lei Shen bottleneck if your goal is legendary progression. If you buy every collectible item for this chapter through the Shard path, the total cost is 630 August Stone Shards: 200 for the 20 Secrets, 360 for the 12 Runestones, and 70 for the Heart. Return the completed objectives to Wrathion and you will earn the achievement Chapter III: Two Princes, marking the end of Chapter III.

Lore note: the title "Two Princes" refers to Wrathion and Prince Anduin Wrynn. During this chapter, Anduin quietly pushes Wrathion away from ruthless manipulation and toward a broader view of what Azeroth needs. That tension stays in the background of the questline and adds extra weight to Wrathion's tests, especially once the Thunder King's power enters the story.

Chapter III Rewards

Chapter three "Two Princes" unlocks Legendary meta-gems for helmets with a base item level of at least 502. Each gem offers a unique proc, letting you tailor throughput or survivability to your role.

Chapter IV: Celestial Blessings

Available Now

MoP Phase 4: Celestial Blessings

With Lei Shen defeated, Wrathion shifts focus once again. In Phase 4, there's a lull in the faction war as attention turns to the aftermath of the Thunder King's fall and the brewing threat of Garrosh's ambitions. Chapter IV is all about Pandaria's ancient guardians, the August Celestials, and the final forging of your cloak. It begins with the quest A Reckoning. This is a short roleplay quest: Wrathion asks you to meet him at the Seat of Knowledge in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms (above Mogu'shan Palace) where he reflects on all that has happened.

Wrathion then gives you the quest Celestial Blessings. For this, you must seek out the four August Celestials of Pandaria - Chi-Ji, Yu'lon, Niuzao, and Xuen - and earn their blessings. Practically, this involves visiting each Celestial at their temple: Chi-Ji at the Temple of the Red Crane in Krasarang Wilds, Yu'lon at the Temple of the Jade Serpent in Jade Forest, Niuzao at the Niuzao Temple in Townlong Steppes, and Xuen at the Temple of the White Tiger in Kun-Lai Summit. At each temple, talk to the Celestial: each will impart some wisdom and formally give you their blessing. However, Wrathion isn't letting you off with a sightseeing tour. He also requires you to prove yourself in one of the Celestials' challenges. These are special solo scenario duels against illusions the Celestials conjure, and you only need to complete one of the four (your choice which). Importantly, each Celestial's challenge is tailored to a specific role or class archetype:

  • Xuen (White Tiger) challenges melee DPS. If you choose Xuen's challenge, expect a fight where you must burn down targets quickly and avoid heavy damage - it tests your DPS output and self-survival.
  • Yu'lon (Jade Serpent) challenges range DPS. This trial often involves focusing down certain targets while dealing with moving out of bad stuff - a test of sustained ranged damage and kiting.
  • Chi-Ji (Red Crane) challenges healers. In Chi-Ji's scenario you'll be healing an injured NPC through waves of damage - a test of your healing throughput and mana management.
  • Niuzao (Black Ox) challenges tanks. Niuzao's trial pits you against a mighty spirit where you must survive big hits and possibly control adds - a test of mitigation and cooldown usage.

You should pick the Celestial that matches the role you are most comfortable performing as the challenges can be tricky if you go in unprepared. Read up on your chosen Celestial's trial: each has unique mechanics. For instance, the DPS challenge (Xuen) famously has you fighting an image of Wrathion himself, testing if you can burst through his defenses; the healer challenge (Chi-Ji) has an injured Tauren monk NPC you must keep alive against increasingly intense damage. Use everything in your class toolkit - these fights are solo, so it's all on you to interrupt, heal yourself, use potions, etc . If you fail, don't worry, you can try again as many times as needed until you succeed. Many players consider the Celestial challenges a highlight of the questline, as they truly make you demonstrate mastery of your class. Once you complete one challenge and thereby prove yourself to that Celestial, return to Wrathion.

Chapter IV Rewards

Having earned a Celestial's blessing, you are rewarded with the Cloak of Virtue. This quest is a simple hand-in where Wrathion allows you to choose one of six Epic Cloaks. These cloaks are item level 600 and correspond to the Celestial/role you aligned with:

Wrathion will show you the options relevant to your class, but you can actually choose any of the six regardless of which Celestial challenge you did. Pick the cloak that best suits your specialization. Each cloak comes with a powerful passive proc effect themed after its Celestial, making it far stronger than typical ilvl 600 gear. These procs are significant and were designed to give players a noticeable boost in performance. Congratulations - you now possess an Epic Cloak of Virtue, one step away from legendary status. You'll also receive the achievement Chapter IV: Celestial Blessings for completing this stage.

Chapter V: Judgment of the Black Prince

MoP Phase 5: Judgment of the Black Prince

The final chapter unfolds with MoP Classic Phase 5, this corresponds to the Siege of Orgrimmar raid and the opening of the Timeless Isle. Once the Timeless Isle content is live, Wrathion will beckon you to one last adventure. He offers A Timeless Discovery, sending you to explore the mysterious Timeless Isle off Pandaria's coast. Head to the new isle (accessed via teleport from the Jade Forest or by flying if enabled) and find Wrathion waiting near the Celestial Court at the center of the island.

On meeting Wrathion there, he presents two final trials: Secrets of the Timeless Isle and The Emperor's Way. Secrets of the Timeless Isle requires you to collect 5,000 Timeless Coins, which are the zone-wide currency found all over the isle - nearly every activity grants them. You'll earn coins by slaying the isle's many rare elite creatures, opening treasure chests hidden around the island, completing one-time events and chests, and even from smaller chests or blazing waypoints. Essentially, just spending time on the Timeless Isle doing its content will shower you in coins. Do note, however, Wrathion expects you to turn in 5,000 coins, not merely collect - meaning the coins will be removed from your currency when you complete the quest. Make sure to save up the required amount and don't accidentally spend them all on vendor items beforehand. Five thousand is not an enormous number, but it does encourage you to fully explore what the Timeless Isle has to offer.

Meanwhile, The Emperor's Way quest is your final combat trial before the cloak upgrade: you must defeat all four August Celestials in their world boss form. On the Timeless Isle's Celestial Court, the Celestials Chi-Ji, Yu'lon, Niuzao, and Xuen manifest as raid-level boss encounters. In original MoP, one Celestial would spawn per week on a rotation, meaning it could take up to four weeks to cycle through all of them. This means The Emperor's Way might require multiple resets to complete if they haven't changed the mechanic - be prepared for a bit of time-gating, unless groups on other phases/instances of the isle allow you to target different Celestials. Each Celestial boss fight is a full 25-player boss battle. Fortunately, you do not need to personally be in the raid group to get credit, thanks to faction-wide tagging on world bosses. If your faction is attacking the Celestial, just participate enough to tag the boss and stay alive through the fight - once it dies, you'll get quest credit for that Celestial. Over a few weeks, defeat Chi-Ji, Yu'lon, Niuzao, and Xuen in this manner.

With 5,000 Timeless Coins collected and all four Celestials defeated, return to Wrathion on the Timeless Isle and turn in those quests. Now comes the glorious moment you've been working toward since level 90. Wrathion bestows the quest A Pandaren Legend. He sends you back to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms one last time: specifically, to the entrance of the Mogu'shan Palace. Make your way there. At the palace steps, Wrathion awaits to congratulate you. Hand in A Pandaren Legend, and Wrathion will reward you with the Timeless Essence of the Black Dragonflight. Use this essence on your epic cloak of virtue, and it will transform into its Legendary Cloak counterpart. The cloak's name and stats will upgrade, carrying over the same stat allocation but gaining a higher item level and a powerful on-equip effect unique to that cloak's Celestial aspect.

At this point, Wrathion names you the "Legend of Pandaria". In game terms, after upgrading your cloak you'll receive a Feat of Strength achievement by the same name. There's one more task Wrathion asks of you: Judgment of the Black Prince. This quest simply asks you to defeat Garrosh Hellscream in the Siege of Orgrimmar raid. You don't need to kill Garrosh before getting your cloak - you already have it - but this quest ties a bow on the storyline. When you eventually down Garrosh, make sure to have the quest and loot Garrosh's quest item. Return to Wrathion, and you'll witness a final cutscene: Wrathion's "judgment".

Your reward is not just a line in the achievements tab. Wearing the Legendary Cloak, you also unlock Ordos, the fiery Yaungol world boss on Timeless Isle. Normally, players without a legendary cloak cannot enter Ordos's sanctuary atop the Timeless Isle. With your cloak, you can cross the barrier and challenge Ordos each week for extra loot. And in a welcomed update, Ordos access is account-wide in MoP Classic - once one character on your account has a legendary cloak, your alts can also engage Ordos even if they haven't completed the questline. Additionally, if you ever wish to obtain the other cloak variants (for example, a healer might want the DPS cloak for an off-spec, or you're a completionist wanting all the colors), the Blacktalon Quartermaster sells additional Timeless Essences to create more legendary cloaks.

As Chapter V concludes, so does Wrathion's grand experiment. You have proven yourself one of Azeroth's greatest champions, wielding the Legendary Cloak to show for it. From here on, the cloak will serve you in the battles against Garrosh and any future foes. Its special procs and high item level make it a dominant item through the Siege of Orgrimmar. You've also experienced an epic storyline few other quests can match, and earned a place in Pandaria's legends. Congratulations - you've joined the ranks of those who carry the Black Prince's legacy on their backs, literally.

Chapter V Rewards

Chapter five "Judgment of the Black Prince" is the finale: you upgrade your Chapter IV ilvl 600 cloak into a Legendary version with a powerful effect. The following legendary cloaks are available:

Best for Strength-based tanks: Protection Warrior, Protection Paladin, Blood Death Knight. Choose this variant if your spec scales primarily from Strength.

Once you finish the legendary chain and claim your cloak, you also unlock access to Ordos on the Timeless Isle. This unlock is account-wide: complete the questline on one character and every character on your account can enter Ordos’ sanctuary. It’s a clean way to park alts at the boss without repeating the entire storyline.

Want multiple cloaks for different roles/specs? Visit the Blacktalon Quartermaster on the Veiled Stair /way #433 54.4 72.8. There you can:

Practical flow: pick up an extra Epic cloak for the off-spec you actually play → grab one Timeless Essence → use it to convert that cloak into the matching Legendary. Repeat as needed to maintain a full set for tank/heal/DPS.

Final Thoughts

In summary, completing the Legendary Cloak questline in Mists of Pandaria Classic grants you a suite of legendary-quality items: a legendary gem, a legendary meta-gem, and the legendary cloak itself. Each chapter's reward significantly boosts your character's power. It's a long journey, but Blizzard designed these rewards to be well worth the effort - by the Siege of Orgrimmar, a character with the legendary cloak and gems is markedly stronger than one without. The cloak's golden wing visual became one of the most recognizable status symbols in the game, and even in Classic, players will know you for it. Beyond raw stats, though, perhaps the greatest reward is the experience itself: you've lived through one of Warcraft's finest questlines, a mix of lore, solo skill challenges, and epic raid quests that define an era of the game. Enjoy your legendary cloak - you've earned it, hero.
